Death list: Mario: Spikes Enemy Time's up Floor crush Ceiling crush Lava Wall crush Donkey Kong Boo Electric rods Mini Mario: Enemy Spikes Electric rods GBA only death: From great heights
All of these death animations are the exact same as the original outside of the fire one which understandably got changed because it was Mario's fried corpse laying on the ground. Idk why some people are whining like children about this, they even add more charm to them by combining them with the classic Mario death of him falling off the screen.
This remake might just be the epitome, next to SpongeBob battle fo bikini bottom rehydrated, that there is a HUGE difference between how it looks, and how it FEELS
I feel like the remake has lost a lot of the charm from the original, I really miss the cartoons deaths and sound effects, and the soundtrack feels like a downgrade to me honestly.
That is far from the truth and honestly insulting that you'd compare this to BOBBR. This remake is nowhere close to that and improves upon the original as well as keeping its charm and feeling the same. It feels the exact same to play.
@@lucaswatts2141What are you talking about? Bruh none of the charm of the original was lost, did you watch the video? The cartoon deaths are all still there in the remake, same with the sound effects. "The soundtrack feels like a downgrade" now that is an insult and flat out wrong, the soundtrack in the remake is an absolute bop and sounds movie quality type of music. Get out of here.
@@chrange9714 we've lost a lot of the death animations like him going flying when he touches an enemy, or completely frying if he touches fire. You can't even die of fall damage, which when I played the original as a kid was one of the funniest things to me and my brothers. Some of the remade songs are cool, but we've lost some of the boss themes, as well as all the old themes for fire mountain and twilight city, which were the best tracks in the game in the original. Twilight city sounds good but not as good as the original and fire mountain's been absolutely gutted of all identity, and just sounds generic. Also the new compositions feel like there's way more treble than bass, which makes it feel like it lacks substance. I don't hate the remake, I've been having a blast playing it, just started a couple hours ago and I've already perfected through world 5, but it doesn't really feel like it has the same essence as before. It feels sterile
Not really. Aside from the censored deaths (which IS bullshit), the spirit is still there. And let's be real, the game controls MUCH better than it did before. It's tighter and less clunky.
@@berserkzelda None of the deaths were censored outside of Mario's fried corpse laying on the ground and his shocked one twitching on the ground. All of them are exactly the same as they were in the original just with the added classic Mario falling off screen like he does in the other 2D games.
GBA: realistic deaths
Switch: classic deaths
They removed Mario having his flesh cooked alive, that's the worst offender
Because they toned down the normal and fire death animation to look more like a classic super mario games.
RIP in Peace personality and fall damage.
Fall damage has been removed?
Yes this game has new changes, mario fall damage has been greatly reduced by 1%.
Wait… ¿You can't die from falling in the remake?
No, this is Remake so easy
@@saulgarcia2750Why bother making it the classic mode anyway?
@@MMX974 For between new gamers and returning gamers
@@saulgarcia2750Not being able to die from falling from a high area doesn't make the remake any easier bud
@@MMX974Because it is classic mode lol. There doesn't need to be fall damage for it to be classic mode.
I do like both variants of animations but it somewhat disappoints me that the ghost enemies are depicted as also toys.

A lot of life was drained from the remake, its disgusting.
Pfffttt “disgusting”. Okay, drama queen.
Omg you're a child. Do you have eyes? Clearly not as not a single bit of life was drained from the remake. What's disgusting is your blatant lying.
