Thanks! Lots of studies of live action film, to see how things move and how we can simulate camera movement. For example, the first shot simulates a fairly wide lens, while the second shot with the background sweeping quickly behind is made to look like a telephoto lens. Buying my own DSLR camera and a few lenses was a game-changer for me.
@@HowardWimshurst so it’s all about using references! You broke it down very well in the video. I hope to see a video one day where you break down the manipulation of the 2d background in After Effects. I thought that was very clever but am lost as to how it’s down as well as you did it
@Iconic Animations studio Freelancing. Learn as much as you can, just make as many things as you can and branch out. Understanding acting or photography, or even making flip books will help you understand animation better. Do a fee jobs and if you can save between 200-300$US, the Huion Kamvas is an amazing graphics tablet for as cheap as you can possibly go for the quality. As for making money and getting practice, one thing you can try is selling cute custom flip books for people, or artworks. Just make and make and make. Experience is more valuable than anything. I'm actually buying my Niece the Huion Kamvas Pro 16 this year as a reward for her hard work practicing art. If you can show your elders or family you're serious and committed to what you want to do, they will be more likely to help you with the investment in the gear you want. 300$ is a lot for something you might never use, but practically nothing as a stepping stone to your future. Build a portfolio of art, a "resume" basically and bring it to your parents (with some money if possible, so they know you're serious) and ask if they will match your money, or go halves with you. If it's too expensive there are non graphics options that are under 50$, less than a single video game. Good luck! Keep trying and experimenting, and try to just enjoy making things for a while. Worry about the future later.
I can't believe someone can actually work as a freelance animator and still put out such detailed and amazing content out on RUclips for folks to learn from.
Slow motion isnt a lot in help needed, just tons of effort. Basically, its easier to draw your poses then space out so much and make SO much inbetweens depending on how slow and also double framing it if necessary and thats it. Unless you wanna tween but that doesnt work for animations like the first one displayed in the video..
1. Draw a normal animated scene 2. Slow it down in a program 3. Use the plugin creating more in-between frames (idk rn how it's called) 4. Redraw / fix some things if needed; draw more in-between frames. That's what my newbie brain would tell me to do
