Hello Ben. I am Agustin from the Canary Islands. Fortunately I have a realsimgear Cirrus cockpit simulator for a year and a half now. Thanks to your videos I have learned to fly Cirrus. I am a piper pilot and around the islands there is still not a single cirrus in flight. Just encourage you to continue these great videos and enjoy your flight as I usually do too. A hug from Tenerife.
Thanks Steve for the great review of our Cirrus Cockpit system, very glad you are enjoying it! One thing we wanted to mention in terms of views, by default we have assigned view mappings to the Audio panel as well using the unused keys you mentioned. Therefore starting with the button with the little telephone/musical note, that is mapped to view 1 and then across the top are views 2, 3, 4 for MUS1, MUS2, and MAN/SQ. Views 5, 6 and 7 are mapped to PILOT, COPLT, and PASS. Typically we set the mapped views as follows: 1=Forward, 2=Down and inside, 3=CAPS handle, 4=Outside view, 5=Left wing, and 6=Right wing. This gives a user the ability to look around as you mention, without the need for a StreamDeck (although that is a great addition as well). Finally the MUSIC button has been mapped to deploy CAPS (will override if pin/cover are still in place), the PLAY button toggle pausing the sim, and the AUX will toggle the parking brake. We have done this for a bit now to allow the user to not have to reach for the keyboard/mouse for anything once the flight has started.
This is great! I also have the Realsimgear set that you have. I look forward to watching your future videos as I am having trouble making it all work, I was going to reach out to them and see if there is someone that is somewhat in my area that I could pay to pay to spend the day with me to make it work! I am picking up my new Cirrus Sr22T the end of the month:) I think I have watched almost all of your videos and really appreciate the way you communicate your moves as you fly the plane. Thank you!:)
Glad you enjoyed it. Getting the sim dialed in is alot of moving parts including some that are not directly controlled thru the gear so it takes a bit of patience that's for sure. I've found the RSG folks are really helpful getting you up to speed. I'd give them a shout. I'm definitely planning on posting some more sim videos so stay tuned. Congrats on your new Cirrus. I predict you are going to love it.
Yes, do reach out to our support for any help you need. We also offer a paid remote software setup, configuration and tutorial session which should solve most of your issues.
That piece of paper (actually I use 2 docs) is a google doc that I put together to help me keep track of important flight info so that it's where I need it and when I need it. If you'd like I'll send you a copy. Hit me up on the email account listed here and I'll send you a pdf and then you can have them printed up. Cheers-Ren
Great video! Have you thought about adding eye tracking to further the immersion? Wondering how it would work with the 49 inch ultrawide. Thanks again for this, what an impressive setup.

Thanks for the tips!! That is very good to know. And thanks to you guys for coming up with such great tools for Cirrus pilots. Cheers-Ren
How can I access those buttons on the audio panel if I'd like to set them to something else?
Ahh, that's excellent! Thanks for the tips on the Stream Deck XL - perfect solution to changing views. I can use it for my music software too - haha.
You're very welcome!

Mr Barron, where did you get your pad of paper for your knee board? I can’t find anything that looks like yours.
Thanks
David

Very nice. How much did the set-up cost? Do you have any experience of using a VR headset with this?

Glad you enjoyed the video. I tried it for a while and found it more work than it was worth for me. Thanks for posting. Cheers-Ren
