Dan is a MASSIVELY under-rated player.
got to love the underrated guitarist comments
or did justi giveway ;p;
Really impressive rhythm player. Cool stage moves as well
Underrated by who?
Those who know, know. Those who don't know need to learn. Dan is the fucking man.
Let us not forget Frankie and Rufus....The 4 are absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!
The Darkness should be filling stadiums, they rock!
This drummer is great for this band, he has a drive that lends itself well to the songs!
He should. His dad is Roger Taylor of Queen.
Rufus Taylor 🤣 son of Queen legend Roger Taylor
Taylor made, it could be said.
Keeping the good, old fashion hard rock alive. Thank you, guys.
I see what you did there, between your profile pic and your nickname 👍😉
such a unique voice. never heard anything like it. except maybe robert plant.
No inear monitoring and the guy just sings flawless and without effort, amazing
Saw them last weekend and Justin was def wearing in-ears. It'll def help to save his hearing and keep him going for many years. The wire was taped to his back, as I got a good look as he rode directly past me on the shoulders of a security guard in the closing song.. lol. At one point he was closer to me than my wife who was standing directly beside me. Such a badass show. :)
A bass player on the mixing board - no question. :)
Thank goodness! Nice to hear that T Bird up in the mix. Normally you see 'em live, but you don't hear 'em...
My ears have been blown away by the amount of badass-ness amplified at this concert...
Check out the chicago live on youtube.. it's mixed much better and is just killer
It is impolite to even praise this with a single comment. This needs a one-hour round of applause.
I want to give a kiss to every one of them on their foreheads for the excellent quality.
Was there! Caught Dan's plectrum!
Genius in action raw musicality like falling rain so special.Sitting with the gods of rock
It's amazing how good of a lead player Dan Hawkins can be typically playing rhythm but he can just as well play lead which is awesome
Even more amazing is he was a drummer and was asked to learn guitar.
Justin's LP Custom sounds so much punchier though. Although Dan was turned down a bit.
imho Justin sounds better on lead, he had better technique of vibrato and bends
@@dugwillis84 He started with bass guitar when he was nine years old, then switched to drums, and finally blessed us with being a guitar player
justin has said that he thinks dan is better than him, which makes the comparatively small amount of lead playing from dan a bit frustrating.
Friday night is such a good song, I love the rhythm 🎸....
and that guitar solo on track two - on top of his voice, wit, & songwriting: the guy's solos are always superb -remind me of Todd's guitar actually from way back
I love that basically all the brothers ever play are Les Paul Standards. There is nothing like the original Les Paul tone with a touch of overdrive. It’s the sound of rock music.
gold! I so wish I could see them in concert!
David Jalbert
Saw them at rockingham when they were 1st coming about if you get chance , take it man ! they put on a good show !
Go see them, they do not dissapoint.
Deeeeeeeeyyyyyyyymmmmmnnnnnn!! Just love these guy's originality! WTG The Darkness!!
Je ne m'en lasse pas , Justin is so good .
they just keep getting better
Can we give a two-hour round of applause for Justin's pain while singing with braces? He could not even close his mouth properly, the inside of his cheeks was probably bleeding.
Dan is amazing on Mudslide.
How many Thin Lizzy shirts does Dan have? ha ha. Of course, I'm not complaining. Any TL fan is ace in my book. I saw TL 3 times (twice in the 70s) and later on the China Town tour. They always delivered the goods live. Brian Downey was/is a great drummer. Anyway, glad to see these Darkness videos.
i love being able to hear Frankie loudly and clearly!!! he’s on fire.
12:37 that walk.👌😆
Man this is a great gig! And Justin is not only entertaining but sexy as hell to me. Love the way he dances.
Thanks for the awesome videos , the darkness rocks , I would love to see them in person one day
You're doing god's work, son.
nice upload mate. thanks. the darkness have always been class.
Marshall Gibson Orgasm..
The Darkness first release was just soaked with sweet blistering tone.
Justin Mercury what a front man!!!
saw them here at belladrum!! fecking awesome!!!!!
how good is hawkins voice live, holy shit
Mantazmagoracle not very..
He's actually quite bad, but in defense of the initial comment... he does sound exactly like he does on the record, it just so happens that was fucking terrible too.
You know you don't have to listen to them if you don't like the band...
@@UnkleRenoGaming What an utterly witless comment.
@@UnkleRenoGaming that's your opinion dude. He isnt horrible. He is obviously gaining some attention from their sound. They are some what known. So what you said is just bullshit. Except how you feel about his singing.
Excellent! And i also like the fact that Justin looks a bit like Trigger from Only fools and horses with that tash!
They are GREAT!
Great performance
Fricken Awesome band...
The Darkness 1st album what a belter.
Still listening it these days
Holy shit what an ending.
Cool! Rock N Roll!! Guys awesome, amazing!
Holy shit this is good
So good...
it's great!
I don't get why Justin Hawkins got braces to 'fix' his smile. His crooked grin was one of his trademarks.
I know right? I miss the old teeth 😕
WOW!
Never heard them so tight before!
justin absolutely kills this performance, bvs are really good too
Brilliant
wow still sounding amazing live !!
nice bracers though :D
in darkness we trust
Fucking Brutally talented rock band~
Class Act
They have found their purpose.
That guy ... looks like Bon Scott!
kracauers his hero, well, one of them anyway
Most underated band ever, should have been fucking huge. Most upsetting thing though is Justin's haircut.
Mint !
THEY KICK FUCKIN ASS MAN!!!!
the best song of the band they don't play, "the wheels of the machine"
They should play at Rock in Rio
That interview was a train wreck
They don't have spotlights in Belladrum?
6:31 That's a pretty neat function of a killswitch setup.
That way, is the middle position weaker than the bridge?
these guys rock so hard a few people in the front row got pregnant before the end of the first song
cooome in frannnce plssss
Why are Dan's cabs on an angle?
I want a White Les Paul!
I have 2 one guitar and one bass
No Love on the rocks???
Beyond great. So f*in great. To all the haters: what rhymes with pavement?
Malkmus will get them.
i thought that girl in the front row had a cattle prod ....but it ended up being a selfie stick!
What language is being spoken by the hosts here? I cannot pick it...
SCOTTISHG GAELIC I BELIEVE?
I really miss his mustache and american flag suit :(.
Slayer man, Slayer fucking believe in what they do
Zeze guyz zeriouzly rack!
I'm interested to know why the cabs are angled the way they are.I know he dimes the amps.
Possibly an attempt to help the drummer hear himself
Probably so he can hear his guitar better. The wedge monitors don't look up to much and side fills give a general mix for the band.
He's not wearing in ears. He takes one ear plug out at one point
@@ruledtrendy5066 Man,his ears must be wrecked!
Although, not hearing one's self is painful in it's own way.
Truly under rated guitarist.
@@jimbarx7088 it doesn't mean his hearing is wrecked. Unless you've played on lots of different stages it's hard to understand how it can sound to a performer. On a big stage there are zones you can hear some instruments better than others. Sometimes it can even seem quiet.
On a small stage the volume can be so overwhelming all you can hear is fuzz
@@jimbarx7088 I don't know if you play an instrument or are just interested in understanding what performers go through. But please feel free to ask questions
@@ruledtrendy5066 Ok thanks man
The singer has some pipez!!!
yep. evry fin is a ok
I love the Darkness, but I think when I saw the in ..must have been 2013 or so they were better.. I hope of course they continue to rock always..and that Justine cuts loose more- refinds himself..because he and the rest of the band are great entertainers...maybe a break and revamp with a new revived stage act and presentation... they should rule the rock world. new big effort form their management and booking agency... they and their music deserve the best on every level.
dr. cranknstein- every band has nights that are better than others, but the darkness on a bad night are still better than most bands on a good night. It's always real and rockin
Mudslide sounds a bit like "Unskinny Bop" by Warrant.
Spinal Tap is real!
Ahh justin I loved your crooked teeth. And it is sad to see your battle with anorexia and bulimia is in full swing,,Your are beautiful...Quit living up to societies expectations..NOW for the good stuff...Justin your live vocals are right in the pocket..damnn..awesome vocalist.
if Partridge wrote a rock song, it'd be Roaring Waters.
"For sex."
TOAN
I'm guilty. So guilty
Looks like Mike from Stranger Things........ELEVEN!!!!
Colosal...
Go check out my band VerVain i can see the darkness through the light i have a serious morrison thing going on
the fuck of all the songs they play Friday night
Who is that beautiful creature introducing the band? There is a God! Oh sorry. The Darkness. What a band!
Couldn't understand Justin's short dark hair and braces.
Well I mean he had to have braces
So, fiinally Hyde ended up playing in a rock ̶a̶n̶d̶ roll band
dan got a justin hair
I had braces and tried to sing, it was not pretty...lispin every word.
omg justin what happened
adarov What do you mean?
he grew up a little bit more
They need to tour with TED NUGENT- seriously! this would be the best kisk-ass rock envoirment for them- you heard it here first..and if I was their manager, I would be on the telephone with Ted's management like fooking right away. believe me!!
ted nugent is shite
bassist tryin' so hard to look like Phil Lynott, no? ahahahah
Orso Northeast Frankie doesn’t imitate.
Not the best Setlist…but a great gig, nonetheless
Someone at the BBC just can't record sound :P same for Glastonbury and everything else they film which includes live bands
Huw Griffin live shows are not easy to record well. This is a good recording, just needs some post production.
30:00 plagio. Sounds like Megadeth - Trust
wtf lmao... I don't think you understand the concept of "plagio"
@@gianlucadecicco5921 I don't know why I wrote that haha
The hair is um tragic
first time i heard them(2003) i thoght it was a kind of `Spinal Tap`(joke band) .I still think so, it suck
Despite Justin Hawkins being rated the tenth best falsetto singer ever and the best rock guitarist alive today?
@@Musicandguitars2745 Justin and the Darkness are great… but i’m fairly sure Jimmy Page and Brian May are still alive
@@rob-c. but they aren’t guitarists in this era
@@Musicandguitars2745 Sorry, I thought you said ‘alive today’…
Why is everyone raving about how good they are? They are mediocre at best. Call me a music snob if you want. [You're a music snob], but surely anyone with a bit of wherewithal can hear that?
I like this dudes youtube channel, he's an interesting guy but my god they fckn suck! I decided to explore their music after I found lead singers YT channel and to me they just sound like a bar band.
Fuck, Justin hands off his guitar so seamlessly, and frequently!!
I’d love to record you guys live. artisanmobile
