The reason why Tommy and Eric weren’t inducted was because they’ve spent the past 20 years playing Ace and Peter’s parts.
Trujillo was inducted with Metallica, but had only played on one album at the time.
Eric was on Revenge, which is a great album. Peter didn't play on Dynasty or Unmasked (credited, but didn't play -- Anton Fig played his parts). Ace hardly played on Unmasked or Creatures.
I can see not including Tommy, as he's only been on later albums, which were not as successful. Eric Singer is borderline for me. IMO, the following should have been inducted
. Paul
. Gene
. Ace
. Peter
. Vinnie Vincent (wrote some of their best songs on Creatures, Lick it Up, Revenge; and also played on Creatures where Ace was credited)
. Eric Carr
. Bruce Kullick

Paul loves saying "this is KISS, but the new"Peter" & "Ace" are certainly not paid the same as Gene and Paul, not even CLOSE...they're hired hands...

As far as I know, Peter and Ace 'sold' their material and the ownership to KISS. It's plausible that Gene and Paul as owner of the band and music make more money than Tommy and Eric.
Maybe someone knows better.

I think every member should have been inducted, living or dead. They have all contributed to keeping the band alive for 50 years.

Sorry…. Kiss became Kiss with the four original members…. Bands are made up of personalities and those personalities make a sound… add, subtract or replace a person, you change the sound and dynamics of the band…..
Paul and Gene are so petty and childish. They didn't perform with Ace and Peter because Tommy and Eric werent inducted.. It was totally unnecessary for Paul to say what he did. If it werent for Ace and Peter, they wouldnt be where they are now.
Maybe unnecessary, but amusing! It's his band, he can call it anyway he likes. In another interview Paul said "Without Ace and Peter we would not be here. But WITH Ace and Peter we would not be here". ??😊

I've been a fan of KISS since 1976, saw them in 1977 in Louisville, KY with opening act AC/DC. Incredible show. KISS will always be Gene, Paul, Ace and Peter. The other members kept the legacy going and should be honored in the RRHF, but the new players are only playing (covers) of what Ace and Peter created from the original albums.

Eric did play on some KISS original hits.
Plenty of bands out there without all original members. It's no big deal.
At a KISS convention years ago, I had a long conversation with Vinnie Vincent. He said the R&R Hall of Fame insisted on inducting as many original iterations of each band as possible, so his obvious “snub” didn’t bother him in the least. He knew how valuable his contribution to the band was, and was satisfied in the knowledge that real KISS fans know his name and his bio.
If anyone seriously suggested to Paul that anyone can be the Star child in KISS and that he doesn't matter to the role at all he would have a hissy fit

Eric & Tommy had as much to do with Destroyer & Love Gun as I did. Which means they had their parents drive them to the local mall so they could buy the albums at Camelot Music with their allowance money. Nuf Said.

I said this at the time: The new lineup plays "Detroit Rock City". Ace comes out and does "Shock Me". Peter comes out and sings "Hard Luck Woman". Then they all play "Rock and Roll All Nite"...That's what they should have done...

well, ... thnking about Metallica, Jason played with Rob on stage and also got inducted into the RRHF. So it wasn't fair for Kiss induction not to include the others. At least, Gene mentioned them during the ceremony.

Actually they are better members than Ace and Peter. They are more professional and in musical and technical terms they are highly superior. Ace and Peter are just iconical and that's it.
This new generation that seen kiss for the first time don't even know about peter or ace only the people that grew up knowing about them...besides tommy and Eric are better players than ace and peter...And I've seen kiss in the 70's.

I mean it’s great and all that they’ve been in band 20 years and deserve credit for that. However, they didn’t help create the songs the fans know and love. That’s why that weren’t inducted.
Because they wanted Peter and Ace..so does everyone else..that's why they didn't play..no Peter or Ace they Wouldn't let you preform.. You didn't turn them down.

As much as I do not want to state this, I need more information about what happened, however, I can see both sides of this issue.
When Bruce played Ace Frehley guitar parts he didn't copy them note for note Bruce put his own chops into the solos. Tommy. Well he plays all the guitar parts note for note. Even copies his movements. Just putting facts to BS.
Howard should have asked them if Tommy and Eric are officially part of the company. If they divide all earnings into four equal parts or if they are paid separately. If they have decision-making power or are simply salaried to obey Because if so, they are not part of the band, but they have been simple session members for twenty years. End.
Ill let this gene simmons quote speak for itself. "Tommy and Eric are appreciative and professional when it comes to playing in PISS."

so in RHCP, josh kliinghoffer was inducted, and only did 1 or 2 albums, these new members were in band for much longer. the HOF is wrong

It's very inconsistent with R&R's past because other bands with changed lineups were inducted with newer members included. When Duran Duran was inducted, Warren Cuccurullo was inducted even though he joined after the classic era.
tommy and eric have the Robert Trujillo effect, they've been in the band the longest(Excluding Gene and Paul) and they slip under the radar. They aren't looked up upon such as Ace,Peter or hell even Eric Carr.

I get the Rock Hall logic though. They induct people that were part of the pioneering lineup. It’s disrespectful to the two that joined later, been there 20 years, continuing the KISS legacy (maybe doing it better), but I get it. Maybe they should have been recognised as well, given how long they’ve been with the band.

maybe they should've done something with their time in the band so they would be recognized, as it stands they can be dismissed entirely and not affect the bands legacy at all.

Lots of bands haven't been inducted for a long time.( Stealy dan , doobie brothers , because of their names ) ( Chicago 1970s Chicago 11 albums not the love songs of the 80s ) Kiss.. being around for over 50 years selling 100s of millions of records means nothing sometimes..
Fleetwood mac inducted those 2 guitarists that replaced lindsay if im not mistaken. They werent even around for any of the hits

led zepplin,when the drumer died as big as they were in there PRIME,once that band member died they were finished and he was just a drummer,here ace wrote many songs,all leads and im sure many of the riffs and they just go with out him
