    *Probably one of my most used **MyBest.Tools** cordless tools. Plenty of power when used with the 5.0Am Lithium Ion Batteries. Awesome cordless circular saw. Would highly recommend!*

    I just got this tool today and it works great for my needs. He Emphasizes that it takes too much strength to depress/plunge cut with, and it only took me 2lbs to 3lbs of pressure (if that). He is bias of the product and is comparing it to a full size circular saw. You can tell from the get go that his attitude towards the tool is completely negative. Theirs a place for every tool and the right tool is the tool's intended use to complete the job properly. You can use this tool with one hand (or both), but your wrist can get tired if your cutting long sheets of plywood etc with one hand for a couple of hours. imo he's got a weak wrist if he describes that it's too difficult plunge cut.

    Thanks for this video. I really appreciate the detail. Being a woman who really isn't comfortable with a large table saw I bought this little hand held tool. I am doing flooring and this seemed like a good choice. Maybe once I feel comfortable with the small tool, I will eventually move up.

    I know people that are comfortable with big circular saw would agree with you. Someone like me that has an aversion to huge saws ...not only the danger, heavy size...and the sound..I cannot take the sound of huge circular saws i wear hearing aids..with and without them that sound cuts right through me ..no pun intended...My dad always used a circular saw ..he was a builder..my mom and I share the same hearing problem would freak atvthe sound...so we used every saw but...that circulr saw lol we were almost phobic about it..meanwhile we use a chain saw like a boss LOL go figure..Enter versacut ..a smaller saw...has the safety feature of the push down plate...and suddenly this girl is cutting wood and building things..and the plunge cut YES i needed that...I also love that It sounds fine to me....from this Great experience ...I also got a blade runner..most excellent and I have the sonicrafter..jaw horse sheet master and the portable jaw horse...I always wanted a little woodshop but the circular saw always put me off...this little saw got me started ....Like I said I can see why someone like you that has no qulams using a full sized circular saw...more power to ya...for me this littlw saw has gotten me on my way to making things...and getting over a phobia i had of circular saws...maybe one day a full sized is gonna make its way into my little wood shop..for now this is great..

    This is actually a great tool for the right applications, defenetlly not for doing this types of cuts, I bought one to remove 5/8 " drywall from a water damage we had in one of my jobs, it was a lot of drywall we needed to cut a couple feets ups and this tool made it so easy

    this is a great toy, I'm not sure why the reviewer trys to compare it to...well, dewalt, they don't make one....makatita? they kinda make something that looks like this but not quite. Rockwell is the only real player in this game so far.
    I was turned onto this saw by some home builders that beat the piss out of one of these putting in a sub floor, a roof, cement board and trim. they cut fast and threw it down, and slapped the piece in. they could do this because the blade pops back in so no chance of messing up the next sheet of wood. it is truly a great one hand saw made for fast confident cuts. best part of review? oh it jumps when I start it.
    I borrowed one from a friend and put in over 1000sqft of red oak using a Rockwell, in place of my miter, jig and table saw, all right in place with out getting up a million times. I can't wait to see how it works with a good dcu, hopefully I can cut in place on remodeling jobs.

    This saw is used to do plunge cut repairs on wood floors when you have to replace 1 or 2 boards that are glued down and don't want to remove entire flooring, also as said in other comments good for drywall also

    Thanks for taking your time to give a review.. I do agree that there are better tools out there, but I don’t do any BIG jobs. I do fun crafting things and make things out of wood. This saw works perfect for me! I don’t have other saws to use, so for people who don’t need all the different tools, this one is great. It does the job and it cuts straight. You can also make curves and cut circles with this. I’m no expert so I’m just throwing in my opinion for other crafters who don’t have a lot of tools! But thank you again!!

    This is a true plunge cut circular saw. You can plunge cut with a regular circular saw but this was designed specifically for that purpose. As a purpose built saw it is perfect for repairing floors and drywall repair. It’s not designed, nor powered to rip or crosscut sheet goods or lumber on a big job.

  • @rexoliver7780

    The Versa-Cut makes me think of an old Kett saw-these saws were plunge cut circular saws-powered by drill motors.You just plugged it in,picked the machine up,started it-plunged and made your cut.No safety trigger device.The Kett machines were liked by car body repairmen,trailer fabrication,sign work,and cutting sheet metal and sheet wood goods.The blades ranged from 1.5" to 3".These machines are no longer made or sold.Worked at a tool supplier that sold them.The Kett saws were sort of fun to use.Plunge circular saws are specialized machines-weren't really intended for the hobbyist or casual user.

    This review should have never been made by a person who does not understand the need or use of such a tool. There are millions of users that need a compact/light weight circular saw for small repairs, breaking down a sheet of plywood etc without needing a full size/weight circular saw. Being a hobbyist woodworker(in my 60's) and I do medium to small home repairs, I loves having the option to use this compact versatile tool rather than be forced to use a full size circular saw for small/thin projects as well as not needing additional tools for other uses. I own this tool for about 2 years, love it and feel I did not use it enough or to its fullest potential. The direction of compact tools is justified in my opinion and hope manufacturers will do so. btw, the caliper has a better way of measuring depth...
    This review was better left for somebody else to make ..

    Bought this off Amazon and got it a couple of days ago. Hate the plunge cut so it's going back. They didn't get the plunge resistance sorted out so it take quite a bit of push to get it going down. If there was a spring loaded set screw in the back of the plunge base near the red tang (see 4:44 m) that locked the base into different depths that would have been a selling item for me. What they should have done was bore out a 1/8" hole and tap it and then drill some corresponding holes maybe at a half inch and then the full depth so that you had an option to lock the base into position. Also the review I read said that the saw would cup through a 2x4 but at 1-1/16" inch it cuts just shy. Maybe a 4" blade will work?
    Is this a hobby saw? Maybe, Cost was $120 for the kit.

    first off great job on your review I'm not a big fan of those lasers neither they tend to be pretty cheap and brake. how long does the wood blade last as small as they are ? it looks like they would get dull pretty fast.

    Hi - great video. At my local hardware store they have a 4A and 5A saw on sale (Rockwell Versacut) but am not sure which I should buy. The 4A has additional items with it like carry bag, couple of extra blades, laser align and no-mar base. In all honesty I probably won't use the additional stuff, but it's only a $10.00 difference between the 5A and 4A.
    Is it better to get the slightly more powerful 5A version instead?
    I would only be using it to cut laminate - good tool for that?

    i bought this tool a few years ago because i was looking for a small circular saw. i hated it because of the spring loaded base, the excessive safety features and how small the blade is. I exchanged it for the 5amp rockwell mini circular saw which is way more versatile... with a classic design that allows you to make bevel cuts and set depths. the versacut is annoying and i’m glad i don’t own it.

  • @brandonsyatessr.3667
    @brandonsyatessr.3667 4 года назад

    I was leaning towards this over the non versacut one... Only because I liked the plunge base... Now I'm still looking at this but only if I can figure out how to lock the base in the up "dangerous" position... Also, I have their multi tool so I guess I'll keep using that to plunge with and the regular mini circ so I can cut flooring right off the floor without having to get off my knee pads.

    This machine is a white label machine. Overhere in the netherlands it is sold as the brand Workx. it's exactly the same machine in slightly different colors. I bought this machine and I use it for everything. I don't need a big bulky sawmachine and this saw is ideal for me. I saw my mdf, cablegutters, tiles, shortsaid everything. The only limitation I can find is the diameter of the blade, that should have been a little wider.

    • @AndrewWorkshop

      +Paul Demetropoulos Hi Paul, I haven't tried the attachment but looking at where the port is, I suspect that it would do a good job. I know on their Bladerunner the dust collection works excellent, so I think they would have put some R&D into this, it's active dust collection (vacuum attachment).

    The story should be a Versacut type saw like this versus a mini circular saw. The Versacut is basically useless for cutting 2"x4" with a 3-3/8 blade where as a mini circular saw with a 4-1/2" blade can.

      @@ACommenterOnRUclips There are far worse reviewers out there, but this was definitely a review by a consumer with a general consumers limited knowledge of power tools. This was easy to see when he did not know how the No Mar Baseplate was to be used. Still, he deserves credit for taking the time to produce this video to give us a chance at seeing the product!

    • @sunglint
      @sunglint Год назад

      @@mirozen_ I don't need to see a review by an average consumer who didn't bother to research how to use his tool, then complains that it's hard to use. Plunge saws are safer and can be extremely accurate. And if you're posting reviews to RUclips, then watch a couple of videos about how to use it before you complain about it. This actually looks like a decent small plunge saw, probably great with a straight edge on 1/2" or less material. I don't want to always pull out my track saw, but you can be sure I researched quite a bit before I plugged it in...

    • @mirozen_
      @mirozen_ Год назад

      @@sunglint Yes, this is very handy saw for a number of tasks. As a matter of fact I've got one and use it often. As I said, I'll give the guy credit for taking the time to show us the tool, but I agree with you that feedback from someone who obviously doesn't know how to properly use the tool he's reviewing is pointless.

    That "plunge" should have been a "set and lock" into position. Set it to 1/2 inch, LOCK IT INTO PLACE, then power on without that latch, then push like a normal circular saw. THAT MAKES SENSE..
    Who ever designed this was on the right track but didn't think it all the way thru.
    Just as you lined it up, powered it up and it shifted on you causing you to power back down and re align was annoying. That would piss me off. Plus i could not see the blade to line it up with the mark on the wood, almost going in BLIND ...
    The idea of having to plunge down and push forward and keeping it lined up is not my idea of cutting with this saw.
    This tool is ONLY useful if you need to notch out wood .. Otherwise a standard circular saw does the same job..
