The way the frames slow down with them dancing. Ekko didn't want this particular moment to end. He probably dreamed about this. For a shortwhile - the boy who shattered time savored it however long he could.
Yeah, that's what it felt like. We're supposed to savour this rare moment of peace and happiness with him, for one, no stress, no hardship. It's like he's a kid again, dancing with the girl he always liked. Such a great and wholesome scene
There's also another point. As they begin to dance, all background people and their noise disappears. It's just ekko and powder present in that moment, because when they are together, the only thing that matters to them is the other
THIS!!! I was so worried that he wasn't going to wake up. Part of me wonders what that version of Ekko consciousness was doing during this time. If only we'd gotten all 5 seasons like were originally planned, maybe we would've seen a whole season in this universe.
I think it`s legit part of why Ekko went back. Not just loyalty to his people and Jayce but also cause deep down, Ekko I think couldn`t stand taking this life from his alternate version. He`s truly the purest hero of this story.
@@alex2005z And still some people denied it! Granted, how Powder becomes in the OG timeline makes the feelings complicated, but it's not like we were just pulling things outta nowhere. That shared look on the bridge after the fight was enough for me
I suspect Good Viktor sent Jayce to the bad universe but sent Ekko and Hemier to the good universe on purpose because good Viktor knew what would inspire each person the most... (and he also sent Heimer earlier, because he knew Heimer has to die to send Ekko back... so he wanted to give Heimer more time, so Heimer will feel he is mentally ready give up his life - it was all on purpose by Good Viktor)
Ekko may be enjoying life, but that's only on his perspective. In that alternate universe, Jayce is probably exiled because of his unstable hextech crystals.

Ekko gave up his dream life, the girl he likes, his mentor and a version of the undercity that is in peace all to go back home and save not just Zaun and Piltover but the whole world. Saddest ending for the best character, truly 'The Boy Savior’.
Ekko is the most goated character in the entire series. Despite having every excuse to be depressed and take out his anger on the world which caused him so much suffering he uses that pain to make himself stronger to help others and protect his friends. Becoming a hero. Vi punched powder after blowing up her family, violence is the only solution she knows but it wont deal with everything. When she loses Cait, she turns to Pit fighting. Jinx was suicidal, feeling guilty for her family’s death, as well as Silco’s. Isha gives her reason to but she is taken away as well. She would’ve died if Ekko didn’t save her 5 times. Jayce’s hubris clouded his judgment despite the warnings from those with more experience, leading to disastrous consequences. Even after these consequences he still tampers with the Hexcore in order to save Viktor. Viktor wanted to help the undercity and those in need like him but failed to learn his lesson from Skye. In the end he could not destroy his monstrosity despite knowing what it was capable of. Seeking perfection, a world without pain but ended up creating a world without life, as one cannot exist without the other. Cait was blinded by revenge, her innocence was tarnished after the death of her mother. She wanted nothing but to destroy those who caused her pain despite the innocents who could be caught in the crossfire. Mel seeks legacy and power just not the way her Mom does. She ignores Zaun and its problems as Hextech is her only priority. You cant fix a problem if you don’t even care to look. Ambessa is ruthless seeking both revenge and legacy. Doing anything to achieve it even if it means hurting her own family. Her own philosophy and ignorance gets her in the end as Mel becomes the "wolf". Heimerdinger lets his experience and immortality define him. Viewing the world and its issues through the lens of hundreds of years. When arriving is the happy timeline he decides to live in peace despite the other timeline’s problems. Singed does anything to save his daughter, even commit war crimes. But fails to sympathize other Fathers who may have lost their children due to his creations. These characters are tragic and flawed which makes them all the more compelling but Ekko is an anomaly. He gets every characters best traits, Vi’s courage and strong will, Jinx’s speed versatility and unpredictability, Cait’s compassion and empathy, Jayce’s natural talent and genius, Viktor’s desire to help others and resilience, Mel’s patience and cleverness, Ambessa’s skill and leadership, Singed’s tenacity and persistence, and finally Heimerdinger’s experience and maturity. He applies this to himself in order become a better leader and avoid making mistakes others have before him. Even after making a few he still reacts fast enough to kick away a bomb saving both himself and Jinx. He creates his own faction from scratch after losing his family and rebels against Silco despite the odds. He is willing to listen to Heimerdinger’s advice and hear out Jayce’s reasoning. And capable of allying himself with Cait despite being an enforcer in order to save his people, even risking his life. After all of that he is transported to a timeline where he can have everything he ever wanted and be happy but leaves it since he knows he cant just abandon those who need him despite how much better life is. The level of maturity from this kid is crazy, its no wonder he was able to create the Firelights. And finally the final battle. Ekko is able to reason with a Jinx who’s beyond broken and fight a Viktor who is invisible. He doesn’t crack under the pressure and improvises with the Z Drive which causes time to stop. He literally saves the day and no one talks about it. He was the true MVP of Arcane
you also know if we very look into it if young ekko did not scammed jayce and even him till his house and relay that information to vi all of this wont happen right?
In this timeline she can actually be/express herself, dress as she wants and is clearly much healthier physically as well. She is not in a constant state of desperation, pain, agony.
for me it's the best episode of the second season, finally they stopped rushing like the other episodes and seeing this beautiful alternative timeline and these very sweet scenes almost made me cry
@@user_was_taken I believe that act 1 and act 2 were a little too quick on doing stuff, then episode 7 chills and shows a good self contained story, but after that episode 8 and 9 are so condensed way too much stuff happening, it's like they sacrificed episode 8 and 9 to make a good chill and relaxed episode 7 Still the whole season 2 was amazing
@@user_was_taken from what I know, the plan was to make three seasons, but due to the high costs they found themselves having to squeeze everything into 2 seasons, a real shame because the only problem with the second season is that it goes too fast and you can see that they had to cut and paste the story
There was something unreasonable funny about watching Ekko be in a paradise, everything is amazing and Powder isnt a psycho, and then we cut over to Jayce fighting for his life in HexCanehell
Don't do this, Arcane. Don't give me a happy and sane Powder, a thriving Zaun, a living Vander, Benzo, Mylo, and Claggor, a good Silco, and Ekko having a good life. Don't give me all that just to have him walk away from it all. I have two episodes left. How much deeper can you push the knife?
This was the most depressing episode this season imo. There is a hint of comfort tho that this timeline exists and always will/has. Ekko, Powder, and all that we see are happy somewhere.
This is the most beautiful scene I have ever seen. My god, what a masterpiece. I wish I could rewatch it for the first time, really. I was blown away by the creativity. The stop down during the dance, gives you the impression, they are stuck in a timeloop. Reducing the volume during their conversation feels just so natural. And the syncro, dear lord, it is flawless. Just look at his face, after he ask her to pretend it is the first time. He is looking down, concerned he sounds like a weirdo. And the way she looks at him, scanning every details of his face, reassuring with the gentle touch on his face, looking at him like he was the love of her life. There is not a single movie who could ever mimic this. I love this show. Am really sad, that it is over. What a piece of art.

Watching Ekko fall in love with Powder/Jinx all over again, is just, heartbreaking. When I went into season 2, I didnt expect this at all, but this is what I needed most. This scene is ethereal, and pure, and magical. So much dopamine everywhere, no matter how many times I watch it I alway end up getting goosebumps and crying, but happy crying, Ekko finally got what he deserved, even if it was for a second. Im filled with sadness, but happy and beautiful sadness, knowing that im crying bc I loved it so much. I LIKE FEELING LIKE THIS, IT LETS ME KNOW THAT THERE ARE THINGS TO LIVE FOR, AND EVERYONE FINDS THEIR OWN ONES. 💙💙💗💗
For anyone who thinks Ekko got the easy part... keep in mind that Ekko is forced to choose between the world he's always dreamed of, filled with the people he once lost but still loves, and his decaying reality that still desperately needs him. His suffering was likely far greater than Jayce’s in those moments, and having the maturity to let all of that go... wow.
Ekko parrallel universe moment was way more enjoyable for him than jayce one, but yeah, once back to the reality, ekko will suffer way more knowing what he left. He now has no powder, no heimerdinger, no bonzo. Of course, as jayce dies, jayce wont suffer at all, but if he would have lived, his life would have been easier than ekko's one. Ekko's life now is chaotic. (Sorry for english grammar, not my first language)
The boy saviour... Hiemerdinger was staying in this ideal version of years living his best bard life, ekko had the option to stay in this paradise. But he returned to his damaged world to save it. No one else would remember what he did. He managed to save his world just in nick of time, and then he lost Jinx from his world... Arcane show is a masterclass of how to do tragedy.
Yeah this was one of the best scenes and episodes of the entire show imo loved Ekko and Powder's relationship! I'm so thankful they got to be happy and share wholesome moments of peace before Ekko saved all of humanity! Also he is my fav character in arcane! Even when he could have stayed he still decided to leave and save the world! He's a real one! Will forever love and will cherish Ekko!
They gave us a glimpse of what a happy ending would be like for these characters and they just took it away in a heartbeat. It’s so beautiful yet so cruel🥹
The dance scene is animated at 4 frames per second, representing what Ekko said when he discovered the time rewind "The limit is 4 seconds." The details make this series becomes more and more beautiful when i see it again, i really loved this chapter
Imagine being a non Arcane viewer. Never heard of or seen the show and having this scene pop up in your YT algorithm. It would STILL be incredibly beautiful and romantic. It would be something. Now be us, Arcane fanatics. It's EVERYTHING
Here is the translation of the music playing in the background : (I love you, I leave you. I love you, I leave you. I love you, I leave you. I love you, I leave you.) You’re the best thing that ever happened to me, but also the worst thing that ever happened to me. The day i met you, maybe i would have preferred, that it never happened. The worst of blessings, the most beautiful of curses, i should walk away from you, but as the saying goes, better poorly accompanied than completely alone. You know what they say : Stay close to your dearest friends, but also, keep your enemies even closer. But my greatest enemy is you, run from me; the worst is you and me. But if you’re still searching for my voice, forget me; The worst is you and me. Why does your name hurt me, when it hides, just there in the void? What emotion is this - hatred, or tenderness when I hear your name? I told you not to look back; The past following you is waging war. But my greatest enemy is you, run from me; the worst is you and me. But my greatest enemy is you, run from me; the worst is you and me.
This moment will forever have a place in my heart as a “what if” their world was different and peaceful and Jinx and Ekko could be happily together and in love without the crazy world that Ekko came and just stay forever there and be happily ever after.Ekko leaving the world he has everyone he cares and loves close to him including his dream girl that i always knew it’s Powder and just be hopelessly in love and live happily after but he gave up on it and get back to his world and saves it…For me this is a true hero…Ekko is the hero and savior of his world
When episode 7 started, I half-shouted at the screen, "Guys, we have three episodes to wrap up several big storylines. There's no time for a flashback scene or whatever this is!" Oh boy, I stood corrected.
They dance at 4 frames per second... The amount of time Ekko can turn back. He never wanted that moment to end, but he left heaven to save his world. He turned back time, had to watch the love of his life kill herself about 6 times, but finally stopped it. In the end he shattered time, but at the cost of Jinx dying, without ever knowing how he felt. I'm gonna need some time, about a year. My soul needs to heal, I'm in mourning. I can't watch this without crying, and I've rewatched it 4 times now. I'm gonna need the next region to not be Feljord. I can't handle Braum being sad. If I see one fucking Poro die I'm going apeshit. I also can't deal with Ionia. too many beautiful characters... Maybe the Shadow isles. A nice story of Darkness and revenge of Lucien hunting down Thresh will hit the spot, especially if he manages to save Senna.
After reflecting on this scene a lot and why it impacted me and lot of friends who also watched this show it seemed that one of many reasons this scene (and this relationship) hit so hard for people is because there’s a type of purity and innocence expressed in it that a lot of people want. It’s a very beautiful and romanticized relationship which hints and a side of love a lot of people don’t feel like they experience today and or feel like they lost in pursuit of perhaps something more immediate. Idk just what my friends and I came to a conclusion of what are yalls thoughts
Consider the bond they share, they've known each other since childhood. In that universe, nothing went wrong, allowing them to nurture their special friendship and grow together, ultimately finding love. That is truly rare and special, as not everyone is fortunate enough to experience such a connection. As you mentioned, relationships today often tend to be volatile, driven by a pursuit of immediacy. It’s evident that Ekko loves the Powder he once knew, but sadly, the Powder beside him is not the same. That’s why, I believe, he asks her to pretend it’s the first time. It would have felt strange for him if Powder kissed him like she might have kissed for another time the other Ekko . Such a beautiful scene and musicalization
That’s such a good point. The fact that there relationship was built over their entire lives showcases a sweetness that’s only born with time. They did such a good job portraying that.
Out of all of Season 2, this episode was the one that broke me. I CANNOT handle time tropes such as this. However, it’s comforting to know that in this timeline and perhaps some others, their fates were as beautiful as this.
The best episode ever! It shows the good side of Powder and highlights how enemies under different circumstances could have been lovers. This is absolutely gorgeous so emotionaly it makes me feel like crying.
If you pay attention at the beginning (0:02) the DJ's record has a black crow and a white seagull, symbolizing the two possible alternate realities; the "good" ending where Ekko and Powder end up together, and the "bad" ending where Ekko ends his life without Jinx. Extremely beautiful detail.
I love it that the song by stromae is called (translated) „my best enemy“, said enemy being addressed as a female. That is such a call back to when Ekko and Jinx had their fight in season 1 and Jinx literally used to be Ekko‘s biggest or best enemy.
Everything is so bittersweet about this scene. I can't stop rewatching it because it had everything you would ask from a pair shown in a series/movie. That type of connection is something people are looking for, it doesn't even need words between them. Also Stromae is a fantastic singer, what a perfect choice for this kind of scene.
I think this scene right here was beautiful. The whole episode was. Kinda makes you think where you would end up if you did different decisions in life.
It's important to realize this isn't a "what if" this universe is real. That universes Ekko was still there when our Ekko left. So Powder and Ekko do have a happy ending and that Powder knows there's a Vi out there who lived and is also happy.
I watched it again one more time and it gives us so many hints that Jinx is alive it’s 100% true. To me Ekko and Jinx are basically the most important ship in arcane, they have so much chemistry and I wish we got more scenes with them more than anything else about the show. Also along with Isha being alive they really didn’t have to do that oh my goddd 😭Also personally while I enjoyed the Jinx and Ekko scenes we got in episode 7, what makes me not like it as much is the fact that it all happened in another universe. The show couldn’t have shown it otherwise I’m aware of that, but the fact that Ekko was able to be happy with Powder only in another universe and not in his own made me want Ekko to interact with Powder even more in the original Arcane universe because that’s not the Powder we know, Jinx is and Jinx is proven to be sane since she is excused for being the way she is because of her trauma and I was REALLY hoping to see Ekko help HER and not some Powder from another universe heal but of course he was too late and the series ended there. Boom. These writers mannnn they want us deaddd. Basically, in any show or movie I’ve watched I just can’t help but feel uncomfortably trapped when the writers decide to show us parallel universes because the characters I love are changed and it all feels fake. So the true goated ship was taken away from us once more thank you arcane I absolutely love tragic ships truly. 😭
I think most of the time the dimension traveling is bad. But here, they actually make something that makes sense, this powder actually feels like powder, it doent feel fake.
@@cafeconleche0343 I see your point, and I agree that the alternate Powder felt authentic. But for me, it didn’t carry the same emotional weight because it wasn’t OUR Powder from the main timeline. The Powder we all grew on to love, the Powder that despite all her pain TRULY deserves love and affection more than anyone. I wanted to see Ekko try to reach Jinx the version of her shaped by trauma, the one he has REAL history with. Their bond in the main universe is so much deeper, and focusing on that would’ve been far more meaningful to me. Alternate universes can feel fake because they don’t resolve things for the characters we’re truly invested in.
I really felt for them both here! His Powder/Jinx has now accepted both sides of herself and has become one. I really hope with every fibre of my being that one day they will meet again and have their 1st kiss 🥹
@@alex2005z nah she can easily be saved she started to show that she still has heart and she cares about people she love. you can see that in season 2.
Remeber me by d4vd was good. There’s a few others that are good too but the music always seems so out of place for the scene. Now that I think of it Remeber me should’ve been played when they killed off one of the characters not during the scene with vander
Ekko is a hero, no doubt about that. That being said, I wish we could talk about his motives a little bit more. This scene highlights Ekko's character wonderfully. Yes, he could have stayed in this paradise, he could have chosen happiness over the war, suffering and loneliness. This life, in this universe, does not belong to him. Not only would he feel like a thief, a cheat, stealing undoubtedly beautiful life from another Ekko. He knew that this version of Powder, no matter how sweet, wasn’t the kind of love he was looking for. Ekko has always been an idealist, a romantic. This version of Powder wouldn’t have sated his hunger for love, a true love he felt for „the real Powder.” My interpretation of his decision is that he decided to come back not only because he felt an obligation to save everybody, he did not want to live a life of illusion.
I’m so glad they added this bright and wholesome episode (let’s overlook Jayce’s horrors, lol). For me, it felt like a kind of happy ending, where you can always step off the path and just rest, imagining how everything is fine in that other reality. And when or if you feel ready, you can go back on track to facing the real outcome alongside the characters. You say "cope", I say "hope". Just imagine how beautiful this is-the creators managed to give us both a happy, though unreal, and not so happy, but real and unvarnished, outcomes. It feels like the way people describe life flashing before your eyes right before death-a bright, fleeting experience before the inevitable, whatever it may be. I can’t stop crying, rewatching the hugs with Benzo and the kiss with the dance with Powder.
My man Ekko is living the best day of his life, and Jayce is trying to speedrun Dark Souls.

It's giving wong kar wai vibes
It’s also animated in 4 frames per second, Which is the maximum amount of time Ekko states he can rewind.
There's also another point. As they begin to dance, all background people and their noise disappears. It's just ekko and powder present in that moment, because when they are together, the only thing that matters to them is the other
The most comforting thing ever was seeing his counterpart waking up when Ekko went back. Somewhere out there, Powder and Ekko are happy.
THIS!!! I was so worried that he wasn't going to wake up. Part of me wonders what that version of Ekko consciousness was doing during this time. If only we'd gotten all 5 seasons like were originally planned, maybe we would've seen a whole season in this universe.

@@Stan-jq8jr as a mixed man: Fuck off with that shit.

But if you’re still searching for my voice, forget me;
The worst is you and me.
Why does your name hurt me,
when it hides, just there in the void?
What emotion is this - hatred,

I told you not to look back;
The past following you is waging war.
But my greatest enemy is you, run from me;

Well said!
The best scene in the entire series, and I won't be convinced otherwise.

I’LL NEVER FORGET THIS SCENE
Everything is so bittersweet about this scene.
I can't stop rewatching it because it had everything you would ask from a pair shown in a series/movie.
That type of connection is something people are looking for, it doesn't even need words between them.
Also Stromae is a fantastic singer, what a perfect choice for this kind of scene.
I think this scene right here was beautiful. The whole episode was. Kinda makes you think where you would end up if you did different decisions in life.
Man, the way they dress makes me feel like they're dancing at their own wedding. It's just so beautiful...
I vomited for 30 minutes straight after finishing the series, and I still feel im gonna vomit
@@Heimerdinger20242 Gosh I hope you’re okay they damaged the whole fandom I swear

There is no Jinx in that universe. She never became broken
@alex2005z Yes, I know. I'm talking about from his dimension
@@tarawhite24 that one is beyond saving
I'm sorry you feel that way
@@alex2005z nah she can easily be saved she started to show that she still has heart and she cares about people she love. you can see that in season 2.
This carefree version of Jinx, is so beautiful and sad at the same time
finally they were able to use a good song and the right time. This scene was full of emotions
All the song selections are good
Finally? This show is an expert at doing that. I can point to like 10 moments where the song used is perfect for its scene.
finally? is this a bait lol
This version of Powder wouldn’t have sated his hunger for love, a true love he felt for „the real Powder.”
My interpretation of his decision is that he decided to come back not only because he felt an obligation to save everybody, he did not want to live a life of illusion.
Jinx looks sm like their mum without the purple eyes and trauma
this moment was "Powder and Ekko " (im sobbing )💙💚
Brotha went from this to watching her kill herself 5 times
kinda heart breaking if you think about it
I already watched this particular scene for 10+ times and it always made me cry to know that this is just "what could have been"
We needed more episodes of Ekko and Powder in this paradise world. The show really would have benefitted from having a third season damn.
In act one Jinx and Ekko have rhe amazing fight scene
Act two they have the amazing dance and romance scene.
Arcane is a MASTERPIECE
My girl Vi really brought a world peace more than the UN itself
turns out, all she had to do was die at the beginning😂
This is what I call art.
I gotta say, after finishing season 1, my most watched video on youtube was Jinx vs Ekko on bridge. Now it is Jinx and Ekko kiss.
This is the best scene and episode in the whole of Arcane for me
Jayce fighting for his life while Ekko was having a wholesome moment lmao
Wholesome, but also sort of soul-crushingly sad at the same time just thinking about what could have been.
