    Like a lot of people born around that time, the Beatles were the gateway to "Rock" music, and their influence on Chris shine throughout "Euphoria Morning". I met Chris in a record store , right when "Louder than Love" was being released. I told him : "you're going to be huge". He said : "awww man, I'm already six foot". I'll never forget that.

    Wooow can't believe someone is making a video about Euphoria Mourning in 2023. Thank you so much, I'm still listening to Chris & Soundgarden every single day. Don't really like the word but the Soundgarden & Cornell solo catalog is the definition of underrated. Again thanks a lot!!
    (Hope you will make a video about the final album when it comes out one day)

      Yes, covering this album in 2023 is just a biiiit anachronistic, but I’m Gen Z and it’s never too late to discuss your passions. I’m happy you enjoyed!

      @@CivilityStint I'm 25 so I also don't really know what I'm talking about, I just picked up on the incredible music that was made in the 90s in seattle. I wish more people (especially my age) would dig a bit deeper than just listening to Nevermind (not saying Nevermind is bad of course). It's definitely worth it! There's so much incredible music hiding

    • @CivilityStint
      @CivilityStint  11 месяцев назад +2

      @NicxPlay I agree with this so much! There were so many great acts and albums in the nineties that aren’t highlighted as much as others in retrospect, and so incredible music sadly never gets discovered. Young people should not be afraid to dig deep and branch out musically!

    im going to sound so sooooo typical, common, ordinary but i think EVERYTHING this man touched was gold but im a grandmother who found at 21 years old 1990 soundgarden temple of the dog who to me was the closest thing next to if Jesus Christ had a voice would be cornell's
    i love how you dissected every song and excuse my bad english not a native AND id love to hear you talk about my fav album temple of the dog i believe i will NEVER hear another human sing like him on that album EVER im still in shock 34 years later!!! i was used to cry over a movie never over a voice.
    he was one of a kind alright!, im absolutely beyond proud humbled really to have been born in a time and gone thru when he was here alive singing his soul out man
    Chris Cornell your star will shine forever🌟🌟🌟🌟and im forever heartbroken 💔 gone too damn soon

    Euphoria Mourning is my favourite of all time. Found it difficult to listen to for a while after his suicide, but lately I can listen to it again with the same awe I did when I first heard it in '99. D.O.T.U I still have trouble to listen to, though.

      I hope you have heard higher truth album they might as well right down every song make into a book and call that that holly bible because he speaks as what Jesus said to just more modernized metaphors with with rhythm and sound to though power pure power and the energy you feel when he is around is a feeling of a person who would be st.josph well guess what on that cd he has a song Josephine yeah can't make this up we r about to see world peace when they will realize that world war three mean be free it's sink or you better start learning to swim but it's beautiful how we can be rasied in a place where nothing is possible but guys what they will see here anytime now that you me and the we can have it all

    Great video! This is one of my favorite albums ever and you touched on a lot of stuff that i love about it! There's a connection, i find, between the last song on this album, Steel Rain, and the last song on the first Audioslave album, The Last Remaining Light. They're in parallel keys mostly and they have similar themes in terms of lyircal content. Always felt they were sort of related, like TLRL is a sort of sequel to SR.

    Wow, I loved every second of this video! Thank you for taking your time to put this together. Euphoria Mourning is such an amazing album its my favorite and has been on repeat recently. I loved hearing your insight on the musical components and the lyrical interpretations of each song they're very powerful. This was interesting to listen to I wish it was longer! I hope Chris and Natasha are in a much better place now. 🙏❤️

    It felt like a hidden jem at the time so it good to see the album get the praise it deserved way back in 1999/2000. Every song could’ve been a hit but after Cant Change Me it’s like the label stop promoting it there wasn’t even a second single. CCM is obviously a great song but it’s not as great as the rest of the album

    Thx for this… criminally underrated album, notably IIRC with Josh Freese on drums… I wonder if the sharp pitch difference you mentioned was due to tape machine speed tweaks, which was still common at the time?

    • @CivilityStint
      @CivilityStint  Год назад +1

      It could be because of the tapes, I’ve never thought about that. Thanks for pointing it out and yes I completely agree this album is seriously underrated

      There’s nothing wrong with having interpretations of art or “nothing” as long as it’s not malicious or hurting anyone :) also, Cornell said himself in 2012:
      “If I write a song and put it out there, it’s not mine anymore,” he said. “It takes on a life of its own, and when you listen to it, it becomes your song. And over the course of generations, those meanings will change. I might have created it, but I have no control over how it evolves.” (Source: www.cnn.com/2012/11/06/showbiz/music/soundgarden-chris-cornell-vineyard/index.html )
