Words: “And when we have a new beginning, It’s all about What we’re gonna do with it.” Start again: Will the masses play a fanfare that swirls in harmonious ode to our return Or start protests and fires and riots in recoil showing us we’re unwelcome? And, do we have control over what outcome we get? I say, no. But that’s not your job. Your job is not to manage expectations. Your job is to do wh...

This was a day long project by me, Julia. The song is a cover I made of "Are You Hurting the One You Love?" by Florence The Machine. I interpreted the lyrics through the LGBT lens, so to speak. Enjoy! #lgbt #florenceandthemachine

Thank you for an excellent breakdown of one of my favourite albums. Long time Soundgarden and Chris Cornell fan including all his solo material plus Audioslave. Euphoria Mourning was released just a few days before I got married (and we’re still together!). Extra special celebrations! By the way, love your outro singing too 😊
@@badmotorbreath5206 Thanks so much! And congratulations to you and your partner :)
@@CivilityStint thank you 😎

No mention of Steel Rain? IMO, nothing more operatic than this track.
I love Steel Rain too, it’s a great closing track
There’s no McDonald’s 🔥🔥🔥
I think this is my favorite work of his.❤ We all miss you so much.
His best work
Good job on this! I know this album back and forth, but I still learned a few things. Really good.
Thanks so much! I’m so happy!
Lol at the 21 savage mockery. “On god!” I like the main melody of the beat. Makes me want to write.
I’m glad you enjoyed it. And as for writing, Go for it!
Great video! Thanks for this and the time I know it takes, also being a “RUclipsr”, with two channels, and planning to add another. This is One of my most favorite musical creations. I listen to it often. I’m working on my own project and he’s a key inspiration of mine.you now have one more subscriber.
Thanks so much, I appreciate it!
Wow, I loved every second of this video! Thank you for taking your time to put this together. Euphoria Mourning is such an amazing album its my favorite and has been on repeat recently. I loved hearing your insight on the musical components and the lyrical interpretations of each song they're very powerful. This was interesting to listen to I wish it was longer! I hope Chris and Natasha are in a much better place now. 🙏❤️
Thanks so much for your comment! I love that you loved the video, it means a lot :)
This is awesome.
Thanks mom 💕💕
Wow, I loved this breakdown - and I say that as someone who doesn’t even care for this album, but I thought this clip was beautifully put-together and it really kept my interest.
Thanks so much!
@@CivilityStint You're welcome -- credit where due! How much have you considered doing this kind of breakdown for other albums?
My new favourite album of all time. 8 amazing songs, mist albums get 6 at most.
Chris Cornell is someone no one could ever understand what he did for the world his higher truth cd wether at the moment he knew what he was doing by making that cd bit it is a sound track for everyone to be come stronger but he truly wantwd to empower the real feminine woman who thinks she should be worried about her family and children's because true women were so rare he only could see that inner beauty inconly small groups compared to the rest of them he har baf experiences with not so beautiful oncthe in side were it wasnt visible to the human eye but i should have by the action but i never really met any of theose small handfuls and honestly some didnt know him either till he was like hey i know that you know you can hear me and i cant believe you never once heard of me like till he was gone 2 years after and he would just show up on youtube my husband found it first and said oh yeah i forgot but omg rose listen so i did it was i cant feed of the powerless with timple of the dogs the rest was history i could hear and conversation with him and my husband did believe me toll a day came finally he told me how to find the video that came out few days before and every single thing i said he said to amy husband the person channeling who was in Europe even never would have know with out gi6m Chris Cornell and when my husband heard that i was right blew his mind he is powerful he said in one of the songs on higher truth cd i wish i can plant a seed the grow so big so i can then haevest the rockfor tou and i yk spit theae ashes from our mouth cause where not packing and regrets and sorrow well they don't do anything but dragg us down so fare down beautiful so beautiful it was true he did he harvest the tree and thank god because music was about to lose it true core for existingp in the first place and wasn't going to let it happen the last thing he did the last time i heard him physically he turned my tv on whenot was off played till then by Godsmack and you will know wow how beautiful a song artist soul and mind are but he said to me what would the bevlike if we didnt have music rosie i said we wouldn't have one Chris with out it beautiful man and im proud to know ppl like him thank you for helping use wemon who was the lowest in 3D but showing us your to them because if you got to see your true person you are scares them its very beautiful i hope and want you wemon to not let anything especially your self that im wrong help me save the world and i will protect you from it❤❤❤❤😢😢😢🎉🎉🎉🎉
Great documentary about an interesting rather obscure album! Thanks!
Happy you enjoyed it!
It felt like a hidden jem at the time so it good to see the album get the praise it deserved way back in 1999/2000. Every song could’ve been a hit but after Cant Change Me it’s like the label stop promoting it there wasn’t even a second single. CCM is obviously a great song but it’s not as great as the rest of the album
Saw this in concert twice in 2000. Excellent album
How amazing! I am so envious of y’all alive at this time in music
Dont everyone jump on the band wagon explain what he meant by nothing. Only he knows
There’s nothing wrong with having interpretations of art or “nothing” as long as it’s not malicious or hurting anyone :) also, Cornell said himself in 2012: “If I write a song and put it out there, it’s not mine anymore,” he said. “It takes on a life of its own, and when you listen to it, it becomes your song. And over the course of generations, those meanings will change. I might have created it, but I have no control over how it evolves.” (Source: www.cnn.com/2012/11/06/showbiz/music/soundgarden-chris-cornell-vineyard/index.html )
im going to sound so sooooo typical, common, ordinary but i think EVERYTHING this man touched was gold but im a grandmother who found at 21 years old 1990 soundgarden temple of the dog who to me was the closest thing next to if Jesus Christ had a voice would be cornell's i love how you dissected every song and excuse my bad english not a native AND id love to hear you talk about my fav album temple of the dog i believe i will NEVER hear another human sing like him on that album EVER im still in shock 34 years later!!! i was used to cry over a movie never over a voice. he was one of a kind alright!, im absolutely beyond proud humbled really to have been born in a time and gone thru when he was here alive singing his soul out man Chris Cornell your star will shine forever🌟🌟🌟🌟and im forever heartbroken 💔 gone too damn soon
This album is a treasure, just as he was. Thank u for making it justice.
Thanks so much!
Thanks a lot! Very nice work!

RIP to 2 legends, Natasha and Chris. We will always love you <3
Wooow can't believe someone is making a video about Euphoria Mourning in 2023. Thank you so much, I'm still listening to Chris & Soundgarden every single day. Don't really like the word but the Soundgarden & Cornell solo catalog is the definition of underrated. Again thanks a lot!! (Hope you will make a video about the final album when it comes out one day)
Yes, covering this album in 2023 is just a biiiit anachronistic, but I’m Gen Z and it’s never too late to discuss your passions. I’m happy you enjoyed!
@@CivilityStint I'm 25 so I also don't really know what I'm talking about, I just picked up on the incredible music that was made in the 90s in seattle. I wish more people (especially my age) would dig a bit deeper than just listening to Nevermind (not saying Nevermind is bad of course). It's definitely worth it! There's so much incredible music hiding
@NicxPlay I agree with this so much! There were so many great acts and albums in the nineties that aren’t highlighted as much as others in retrospect, and so incredible music sadly never gets discovered. Young people should not be afraid to dig deep and branch out musically!
it brings kind off a jeff buclkey vibe with the ambience atleast and the Bass
That’s a high compliment, thank you!
i'm happy that this record is being featured, also you did such a great video, with an effort like those who made these big video essays congratulations a loved every moment of it also a musician and a big fan of cornell so thx <3
Thank you so much!
Like a lot of people born around that time, the Beatles were the gateway to "Rock" music, and their influence on Chris shine throughout "Euphoria Morning". I met Chris in a record store , right when "Louder than Love" was being released. I told him : "you're going to be huge". He said : "awww man, I'm already six foot". I'll never forget that.
Great video! This is one of my favorite albums ever and you touched on a lot of stuff that i love about it! There's a connection, i find, between the last song on this album, Steel Rain, and the last song on the first Audioslave album, The Last Remaining Light. They're in parallel keys mostly and they have similar themes in terms of lyircal content. Always felt they were sort of related, like TLRL is a sort of sequel to SR.
I saw Soundgarden in NYC the night Andrew Wood overdosed
Great video giving the story of a timeless record!!! I recently came back to it and live it just as much the day I bought( the day it came out)
He loved and missed his Sweet Euphoria.Sweet Euphoria flame on an open palm.He could physically be able to connect to her.🌹✡️He wants to be her King.
I love this album and every song is wonderful! Makes me cry most of the time!!!
Illuminati
Great video!! Loved it!! Euphoria Mourning is such a beautiful work.
Thank you so much for your support!
Thx for this… criminally underrated album, notably IIRC with Josh Freese on drums… I wonder if the sharp pitch difference you mentioned was due to tape machine speed tweaks, which was still common at the time?
It could be because of the tapes, I’ve never thought about that. Thanks for pointing it out and yes I completely agree this album is seriously underrated
Euphoria Mourning is my favourite of all time. Found it difficult to listen to for a while after his suicide, but lately I can listen to it again with the same awe I did when I first heard it in '99. D.O.T.U I still have trouble to listen to, though.
I’m glad you can listen to it again; as a Linkin Park and SG fan I understand how it can be difficult sometimes.
I hope you have heard higher truth album they might as well right down every song make into a book and call that that holly bible because he speaks as what Jesus said to just more modernized metaphors with with rhythm and sound to though power pure power and the energy you feel when he is around is a feeling of a person who would be st.josph well guess what on that cd he has a song Josephine yeah can't make this up we r about to see world peace when they will realize that world war three mean be free it's sink or you better start learning to swim but it's beautiful how we can be rasied in a place where nothing is possible but guys what they will see here anytime now that you me and the we can have it all
It's our time on the universe wether you cursed or blessed it's our turn another one awesome man he is RIP now 🎉🎉🎉
Fantastic video! Love this album start to finish. Saw them tour it and was blown away. I like the parallel you drew between When I'm Down and Disappearing One. I've always felt they were similar thematically. Cheers!
Thank you so much! I’m glad I did it justice
Amazing video essay!! Beautifully written, and your passion for the topic is clear in your voice. Great job :)
Thank you so much Ori :D
