They were literally arguing like a married couple in the beginning. An argument about how to take care of their son better lol.
NO FR 😭
Fr
replace mentor with parent
More like cool uncles with one of them having a bunch of skeletons in the closet
@@10RexTheWolf01 Don't you mean "both"? 😂
"This mountain's been my home just as long as yours." They fucking lived together there before, must have been interesting. O.O
Yes and no macaque is also a stone monkey that lived there there basically siblings
OMG they were literally *roommates*
@@theanimekid7839 Yeah!
Macaque and Wukong both lived on the same mountain with the other monkeys. It's established in season 4 when we see Wukong visit Macaque.
yeah i believe they were both born from rocks like a symbolic thing of them being linked literally in the novel
“None of us even knew he existed!”
I really wonder if Macaque is referring to the other radiant monkeys. Since MK is a monkey also born from the stones like them.
It just seems like such a weird line. He doesn’t say “we didn’t know” referring to himself and Wukong he says “none of us knew he existed” implying more.
I really hope we get to see the other two in the show - that would just be amazing
The red baboon and the long armed gibbon
Glad I’m not the only one who thought this. The line doesn’t make any sense if he’s just referring to the two of them. Hope we get some references on the others soon, either in the next special or next season
5:19 “Stop the kid you idiot” Translation: “Go save our son you idiot”
so true 💀
4:13 nooooo the tear in Wukong's eye ;-;
2:29 mom dad please stop fighting.
Fr fr-
Firstly, it’s not mom and no dad, and secondly, why did the macaques and wukong quarrel all the time, as always?
@@jeremytung1632 no it’s “papa” and “father.”. Wukong is papa, macaque is father.
First of all, they give me 'divorced couple' vibes
Second of all, 1:11 and 4:05 is interesting because Wukong and Macaque seem to be hesitant over the fact that Wukong killed him in the past.
Them exchanging looks at the pillar and then Wukong reaching out for Macaque to take his hand, perfection.
Xiangliu was not taking that
3:38 Macaques reaction to this idk rubs me the wrong way. Its either he's a bit shocked the Wukong trusts him after all he did to them or There is something we're not being told. Especially after that snake demon asked who he made a deal with to get such power. Its probably true that he did make a deal with someone to get this power because from what we know to original Macaque didn't have this power in the journey to the west book but he might of had it since he had his shadow weapons in that one flashback when the brotherhood was attacking the celestial realms. Anyways what im saying about this is that maybe Macaque made a deal with someone that gained him his powers and in return he has to do something that may or may not involve him betraying everyone again in the near future. Either way his reaction is subtle but interesting.
I am violently obsessed with them
Me too, bud...

We should start a club
@@sketchycat6223 oh absolutely
I can smell the romantic tension so much more in this season, and they still didn't hug ONCE!?!
I was hoping they will 😭
Not even holding hands!😭 and we all saw he was gonna!
It honestly feels more like a brothers thing. Right down to having a falling out and not willing to forgive the other.
@@jfb173jb I would usually understand where you're coming from with these types of dynamics in stories, but in this case with lmk the crew has purposefully given them romantic undertones to their dynamic (it's difficult to explain, but basically while they're not meant to be explicitly canonically romantic, the subtext is definitely there, and placed there on purpose).
I mean otherwise it would be weird to have Macaque/Liu'er and Wukong specifically re-enact an iconic scene between Wukong and a romantic interest of his from another adaptation of jttw, imply they both find the other attractive and the strange insistence of the show on referring to Macaque, a character who has already been redeemed and is now an anti-hero friend, as Wukong's "ex-best friend", which he is, don't get me wrong, the weird thing is the narrative's fixation of the "ex" part. They're really, reaaaaally leaning into a particular connotation of "ex" here.
@@thegothbunny don't you think you're reading too much into it?
4:05 when we see part of the memory of THAT FIGHT between SWK and Mac, we don't see much except for the flashing lights of them fighting. (Which we have seen before) and we hear some interesting dialogue.
Wukong: "Mac stop! Don't make me do this!"
Mac: *laughing like kind of unhinged laughing*
Did Mac go nuts? Was he possessed? It really doesn't sound like Wukong k*lled Mac out of spite. It sounds like he had no choice in the matter or it was an accident. So really, what happened? I hope S6 reveals the truth finally. Wukong was visibly upset (wiping away a tear after being freed from the memory, and saying "no" when asked if it was a fun memory) and, in the memory, he sounded like he was reluctant to even fight Mac. I just need to know the answers ack
Yes, I have a theory that the one who possessed Macaque, was someone who he made deal with. He couldn't just get shadow powers out of nowhere. NHD also asked him 'Who did you make a deal with?', and somehow, Macaque's powers are connected to NHD's chaos powers, which means, whoever Mac made a deal with, has something to do with NHD.
My theory is that it is Red Python Demon, because first of all, he is a serpent just like NHD and Nüwa, second, Macaque's sets mostly use red color, instead of purple (ex. shadow clones). Also, Macaque's red mark on his face reminds me of a python skull.
mmmm
3:34 I love how macaque looks at like he trusts me? ❤
❤ikr😊
3:38 aaaaaaahaha, this is so sweet ❤❤❤

macaques voice actor confirmed the full sentence said “you are such a dick”

Wukong and Macaque being the best bros ever.
they are really pushing the "divorced parents" vibes this season, huh?
I guess. There were best friends, but later had a huge falling out (mainly Wukong's fault to be honest). And Wukong killed him like actually
@@LitereallyNobody7 that was a rhetorical question, my man
Considering that two of the Guardians in the season where a couple (from what I could see) I would not be surprised that these to are in fact ex’s
You mean the tiger and dragon?? THEY WERE A COUPLE???
@@L1ttl3H4v0c yeah, I mean did you see how they nussled each other in their final moments
@@sydryi3086 WAIT IT ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE NOW! Since y'know, tiger and dragon represent Yin and Yang!
@@L1ttl3H4v0cyeah lol what's funny is that this ying & yang couple also parallels Wukong and Macaque's relationship, what with their explicit "light/dark, sun/moon" aesthetic, dynamic and imagery❤

He was just envious of what they had and not him. Lol
remember: Monkey king's full name is great sage equal to heaven. i guess he's a god exclimation now XD
I may not ship it but they are hilarious when they act in unision
looking at all these episodes now I had a theory that someone created Macaque like Nuwa created MK. Because Mac seemed confused when NHD suggested that he made a deal with someone for the sake of power. If I'm not mistaken of course.
I wonder how this will turn out for their relationship with Swk, they have only just started to improve
(a little off topic video, I just wanted to share the idea, sorry)
No need to be sorry, I really like this assumption! :0

Can someone please answer these questions?
Does Macaque hate Wu Kong?
Does Macaque still care about Wu Kong?
Does Macaque still love Wu Kong?
Are Macaque and Wu Kong still best friends?
Are Macaque and Wu Kong still brothers?
I'll try to answer!))
1) Macaque sure hates Wukong, but not as a person. He just hates the irresponsible attitude of the king, and the things he has done in the past.
2) Macaque clearly still cares about him, but not like he used to long ago.
3) Probably the same answer that I stated above.
4) After so many years, their relationship got very complicated, but it is visible that they want to forgive each other. Still, they need some more time to solve their relationship issues.
5) Biologically, they cannot be brothers. Macaque isn't a stone monkey, Wukong is, and (at least according to book) he can't have any biological relative, since he is a product of Heaven and Earth.
If you mean like sworn brothers, then I dunno. Maybe? In Chinese dub, Wukong still considers DBK as his sworn brother, calling PIF his "sister-in-law", so it is possible.
@@L1ttl3H4v0c, thank you. I was just curious. I love their bond, friendship, and relationship.
😍
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Wukong and Maquce kinda like brothers ya know 😅🐵🐒
They were SWORN brothers, which is like having super strong friendship/bond and it doesn't necessarily mean like a family.
But if it's your headcanon, who am I to judge?
@@L1ttl3H4v0c 👍
@@L1ttl3H4v0c i think in the novel Macaque was MK's literal shadow clone or something....
@@gracekim25 Wukong can't have biological family (at least in the original book). He was born from a stone egg, made by Heaven and Earth. There is nothing about how the Six Eared Macaque was born in the book, and I'm glad people can have their own interpretations.
