Aerosmith no doubt huge in history Steve, but Zeppelin is in it's own stratosphere.
You are so right !
For sure for stealing songs music from the Delta Blues Legends and being sued and having to pay out Royalties ..... Stratosphere ....as you call it ..
People need to understand that loyalty is priceless and the loyalty LZ has for John Bonham is as much of a legend has the band itself. It's not LZ without John .. I can see why they feel like that and truly respect them even more for it.
Not really, but they can still put on a kickass show and they should do it anyway.
It's mostly Robert who says he can't do it without John there.
But jason, page and jones were all down for getting back together not too long ago but it was plant that didnt want to do it, as it always has been. Am i right?
Afonso, I strongly feel that even though there is definitely only one John, Jason is the perfect candidate, and not at all just because he's related. See Jason @ Kennedy Center Honors. He is not only wizardly on his drums, but one can tell how humble he is. Writing here, because I vastly appreciated your comment on loyalty. LZ set a good example for others. Cheers.
@Funk O'Matic Yeah if it was anyone other than Jason Bonzo, hard pass.
Steven Tyler has always been cool. I'm glad that he is a survivor.
Imagine the stories Steven can tell.
And he'd tell them if he could just remember them
He’s more together than most of us.
Yeah a lot of stories...alot of bullshit too.
The only band in history who broke up because of a drummer. That says a lot!
I mean The Who had a similar situation, but it wasn't as radical
Neil Peart and Rush
Rush broke up because of a drummer.
I mean, avenged sevenfold ain't been the same since the Rev
I doubt that’s true
I met Steven once in a restaurant I worked at, he's an amazing human being love that guy!
Zep absolutely nailed the '07 show at O2 in London. It was perfect. And it was the perfect time to but the bow on Led Zeppelin and call it a day. What a way to go out. I'm glad they didn't ruin that perfect show with a tour.
I admire robert plant for not doing more LZ shows.
Exactly!
A reunion show or two was fine, but let the legend die and be remembered for how absolutely amazing they were.
These bands that get back together decades later and play with half (if not less) effort and release subpar records really stain their image.
What?
Dude knows how to keep the legend in tact. 🖒
True. Don’t think Page plays guitar anymore.
Same here. He has integrity.
Led Zeppelin and Aerosmith two of my fave bands and two of the greatest ever!
What a treasure Steven Tyler is
@phosphorescent wave He doesn't want to
I wanna hear how Jimmy Page would play the Walk this way riff and solo.
Read Aerosmith’s 1997 autobiography “Walk This Way” Steven has some killer led zeppelin stories. He’s the original LZ superfan.
I've been wanting to read that!
Yes Page Plant Stole from the Blues Legends
Robert Plant and John Bonham came into the band together, don’t forget. That’s a layer to it. (Page and Jones were one pair and Bonham and Plant were the other pair that came together as the four)
And all together they Stole beats music from the Blue Legends
Gotta respect Robert plant.... he said without Bonzo there will be no led zeppelin,... that was in the early 80s & he mostly has stuck true to that statement.
For many years I wanted Plant to get back together with Led Zep. But, at this point I have come to really appreciate Robert Plant's solo music and really enjoy the stuff he puts out these days.
Finally, an article celebrating Robert's astounding solo career instead of harping on ancient Zep reunion rumors. Fantastic article!!
"Robert Plant not only survived the crash of Led Zeppelin; he absolutely thrived in its wake and carved out a solo career that doubles as a master class in creative evolution."
web.musicaficionado.com/main/article/the_best_of_robert_plants_post_zeppelin_career_by_jimfarber?fbclid=IwAR2uG_OuuNQzNJDPMjg_CXqz5ZMnApacq4LzKSt6DdhULI7LGWOmHswyiD0
Robert is a classy man. He does not need to sell him self over and over playing Zeoplin. He has done that enough. I say Robert, jimmy Page and Jason play Chicago in 97. Its on RUclips. Very awesome show!
No disrespect to Jason Bonham, a great drummer in his own right, but Robert Plant made it very clear that there really is not a Led Zeppelin without its original drummer and his mate John Bonham.
Having been one of the greatest bands of all time, the music will live on forever but he’s moved on from performing Led Zeppelin music.
it wouldn't surprise me if he does at times do some Zep songs while on tour but of course his concerts i doubt are just music he did with them
Plant performs Zeppelin music all the time, just not with the principles...
That was John Paul Jones who said that .
He and John were friends before LZ. People don't seem to realize that is was Bonzo who got him through his darkest days after his son died. Page wasn't there and JPJ wasnt there (not even the funeral), and that's ok..because what he needed was his best friend. JOHN BONHAM.. When john died. Led zeppelin died. We have to respect plant for not beating the same horse over and over and hit the road singing songs he was singing 50 years ago and without his best friend up there with him. Its heartbreaking.
But when they have played, it's usually been with Jason - and that's also out of loyalty.
I just wonder what’s it’s like to be one of these rockstars. Just to have lived through the golden days. I just can’t imagine. True legends here folks!
I know right?!!
Two intelligent and well-spoken individuals having a great conversation. This was the best 3 minutes of my day.
Only recently have I come to fully appreciate the greatness of Robert Plants VOICE and technique...he is truly one of the greats and is as responsible for lz's legend as pagey.
Jimmy Jameson They were 4 mate, all responsible almost equally for the legend of zeppelin
John Bonham was actually the reason they were so powerful. Page was a solid guitarist and Plant was an amazing singer when he was younger but Bonham was on another level. He perfected the drums. Perfected. The. Drums. LZ died when Bonham died and they should of never gotten back on stage after that.
As is Bonzo and the so underrated John Paul Jones!!
Great White 40 percent of Zep was acoustic. Sounds like you’ve only heard a couple of Zep songs. Nobody had that kind of Plant range, super fast vibrato, dynamic from where you can here a pin drop kind of whisper to a male soprano. Get off the Great White and open your ears.
@@thugtrippin totally agree.
That's what recordings are for. Music never dies
Steven Tyler is a national treasure ❤️ ❤️
Tyler can Sing ...........
People, the respect and loyalty that Led Zeppelin has for Bonzo deserves respect. Especially, Robert Plant. Bonzo was Robert's best mate. And I respect Plant for not playing as Led Zeppelin again.
Aerosmith used to "practice"(show-off) outside behind the former Marlborough High School by the bleachers (now the middle School). My aunt went down once with some friends and my grandmother walked down the street to drag her back home because she wasn't allowed to spend time with those type of boys. They used to rehearse anywhere they could before their first album.
To add on comment about straight up Steven Tyler.Seen him going in healthy food restaurant called wild flower on siesta key in sarasota Fl back in 90s.went home few blocks away and told my fifteen twin sons who I had seen going in wildflower resturuant. They jump up grab a 8 by 10 picture of Steven holding up a license plate and hurry down to where he was having lunch walk in and approach him and ask him to sign the picture interrupting his lunch. The good guy straight up rocker stop eating and look at the picture and said cool then sign it for them without blinking an eye. There 42 years old now and still have picture Steven sign. Thanks Steven your real cool to.God bless you straight up Rocker
Steven Tyler Legend among legends.
Yes. He. Is. AWESOME
Robert plant was Bonham's friend from way before LED Zeppelin and he got him into the band I will sing on one condition you hire my friend on drums true story
Beautiful person love you Steven! Come back to Kelowna man
Led Zep have given us all the best they had. They broke up before the curve went down, and that's why we remember them as the greatest Rock band ever.
But still, I'd love for Plant and Page to maybe do one last experimental/acoustic album together while they're still healthy.
I think Robert Plant has a lot of mixed feelings playing as Led Zeppelin. He's always maintained that he doesn't want to do the comeback/ reunion tour and rehash all the old hits. He's continued to be experimental and forward thinking with his music. I don't think Robert and Jimmy agree on the creative direction. It seems like Jimmy Page is still entrenched in Zeppelin music and would love to do a greatest hits type of tour. Robert also very much misses his good friend John Bonham and I think reuniting with the Zeppelin brings up a lot of sad feelings for him. In the end it might be for the best.
I'd love to see Zeppelin reunite and do new music, but I don't feel there is any need for them to come back as a greatest hits band. Plus, I don't think Plant can sing the old stuff like he used to anyway.
i think that's exactly what it is, he was so close to Bonham that he's never gotten over his death and he's even said while the reunion was a blast it just wasn't the same thing. though he did admit that his John's Son is also a damn good player
roger_985 idk why they couldn’t have toured as the nobs and played random surprised shows, plant would have been down
roger_985 I remember reading Cream magazine in 1977. Robert indirectly blamed Page's involvement with the occult for Karac's mysterious death. Maybe there's something to the rumor that 3 of the 4 sold their souls? Jones did not. Jones wasn't invited with Plant n Page in '95 tours. Robert recorded a song several years ago called "Someday Satan your kingdom will come down." So it makes you wonder, and me makes me wonder......🤔☺
Robert said, I want to be progressive in my music and create new music genre. Doing Led Zepllin is going back to old days. I am more happy doing new music. That's his view during 2018 interview.
I saw Aerosmith 1977 as the back up group to Led Zeppelin Day on the Green Oakland Ca 1977
Daniel nuts
@Mark Cianfarani Yes I was there ,Rick Derringer, Judas Priest opened July 24 ,1977
@@mark2604 I was there too! At 14 years old!
Wow, a whole.bunch of rock legends talking about each other. It's super they r all like shining diamonds。
they r great and forever will be.
It’s funny because when LZ got together to practice for their 2007 performance to honor Amit Ertegan... I believe it was Jason who said, what would we play? and Someone said
let’s play “Train kept a Rolling” and that’s how they started off their practice session.
It was Jason who helped the band when they couldn't remember parts during those rehearsals.
Thanks Howard n Steve...after watching some video and learning how unique Jon was I understand. Why...thanks again...good chat...piece...
This is the best interview with Tyler I’ve ever see .
Yeah that's true of all the bands that had break ups I have alway heard no talk or vibe that Zep was going to try to get back together, not even a vibe or a small one so that made it clear that there was a feeling of okay...this is over....thanks respect to them...
Liv is his greatest achievement ever. The music is awesome too.
Such an interesting interview
Aerosmith is the best American Rock band ever!
The Eagles: HOLD MY BEER
@@thisismagacountry1318 nah gnr is best

Pra sempre vou amar aerosmith🎶🎧
Love Steven Tyler always hav always will....... Tryin to bring peace to LZ. Ahhhhhhhh ahhhh ahhhh aaaa!!! 💞
Plant has actually tapped into lots of Zeppelin since the '80 breakup: the Zep reunions, sang on Page's solo album, toured with Page for most of the 90's, made an album with Page, still does Zep songs in his concerts. Not sure why people keep saying he has abandoned Zeppelin.
Aerosmith....Greatest American rock band ever!
Yes. I been loving Aerosmith since day one..when I was 13 in 1975.
Thanks for the snap Tyler. Not many bands have reached the heights of your plateau. But Zep will forever be your mentor. You know it, I know it, we all know it. Again, thank u for all your sweet emotions, don't know where we'd be w/o out ya.
Let's be real, would it ever be the same if plant did decide to go back? Like he's not 30 years of age anymore, and those vocals are so difficult. Also, he's a completely different person than he once was. Those songs reflect a certain time of life. You can see from his different directions he's gone in that he's maybe just moved on.
As a massive zeppelin fan and bein only 16 I'll never get to see zeppelin live which sucks but I respect that they don't continue without john Bonham and too me it's not zeppelin without John
Something to be said for rock stars who were all born in the "Year of the Rat": Steve Tyler, Robert Plant, Alice Cooper, Ted Nugent, Ozzy Osbourne, Ronnie Van Zant, Mark Farner and Todd Rundgren--all members of the "1948 Club"--the coolest club around!
Love the Tshirt
Living legend
Saw Plant in 2018 playing with Sheryl Crow. He sang Going to California and the whole place just fell into tears and laughter. They ended with Rock and Roll with he and Crow. It was good but there's a real sadness to him that he and Page don't make music anymore...
👍🇬🇧❤LED ZEPPELIN.....BEST BAND.........EVER !!!!!!!........I DO LOVE MR. TYLER / AEROSMITH 🇺🇸❤👍
He is The Godfather of rock if you ask me .. Steven is the man
Robert Plant touring with them again would be amazing of course, however Steven Tyler touring with Page/Bonham/Jones would be awesome !
Amazing what he is saying here.
That recording will come out now! Hearing him do the immigrant song would be fucking epic!
I like these interviews
I can't see anyone other than robert plant fronting zeppelin just like I can't see nobody other than Steven Tyler fronting aerosmith
Aerosmith , Gnr, Led zep, Queen, Black Sabbath, Metallica... That's all u need to hear.
Led Zeppelin Died when John Bonham died. The previous members had too much respect for John and his family and what each member did for that sound. It's illogical and impossible for Zeppelin to exist without a member.
I adore that Steven is not letting Howard interrupt him
We do not deserve this man.
God he looks good!
Andrew Dice Clay claims he got G&R back together solely in Vegas. It’s becoming “I was at Woodstock” type of claim. 😂
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Rose
I'm 15 and i have never had the chance to go see Led Zeppelin.
Does somebody know which possibilities there are too see them? Like I know Robert still does tour. Please respond if you have an Idea how i could get to see one of my heroes. I'm the biggest Zep fan ever!!
Julian ,(Munich, Germany)
Steve tyler is a regular brilliant human being....
I also think plant deserves credit for going in a different direction. I wish page would do that too. I do miss led Zep
The only way I’d see Zep reuniting and working is if they took the approach Robert takes with Zep material today, which is redoing it totally differently. The problem is, I can almost guarantee fans wouldn’t accept it.
Robert and Tyler...., just imagine that...LOUD.
LOVE Steven ❤️❤️❤️❤️
cant do a Coverdale Page. Cause that Album is Sick
steve zisk was the best post zep work page ever did
@Chris Porter I disagree...
Plant put a stop to them touring with Steven and myles Kennedy. I understand why but if he’s not wanting to tour with zeppelin and wants to do little side projects great but just let the other guys do something cool to with m someone else
They can, they just can't use the name Led Zeppelin.
What song by Robert are they talking about?
I think Robert feels very sensitive about the band the way it was. He expressed in an interview they were musician soulmates. It's his choice and we still have their music to listen to. No band like them, never will be. Steven thinks hes in their league and hes not. And Howard thinks hes a rock star and hes not.
He is right ya' know.
He's a straight up guy. No bullshit with Mr Tyler
Tyler is leaving a part of the story. He went over to England to try out to be the singer for zep as well as hagar did. Neither made the cut and it would have not worked anyway. Plant has a very unique voice. I could not picture Tyler sing the rain song.
It's blatantly clear Jimmy Page didn't think Tyler had the right "sound" or "chemistry" to do it.
If I was Tyler I wouldn't even bring this story up. It's not a flattering story.
I played with a guy named Ed Leffler . Pretty much the same thing.

I had tickets for Zeppelin at the Superdome in 77,, Plants son died 3 days before the show,, I did see Page and Plant in 95,, not very good, saw them again in 98,, that was AWESOME,, sounded just like Zeppelin,, Hey Tyler,, lay off my PRES,, you pissed a lot of people off, I met you at Atlanta show when ya toured with Ted,, I ate Margarita shrimp at some café in Atlanta,, made me sick as a dog,, threw up on my damn shirt backstage,, you went and got me another shirt to wear,, Thanks a lot Steven, was Awesome to meet you, also seen you at Biloxi MISS on that tour,, Teds kids, Toby and Sasha had badass water guns as did Teds crew and Aerosmiths crew,, remember the asshole shooting Ted the finger in front of the stage?? Aerosmith and Teds crews got the waterguns and pissed in them,, when Ted went off, they ran to the stage and sprayed that asshole with piss, that was GREAT,, Ted also put you on his shoulders while you guys jammed,, Fun time that night,, 70's ROCK,, the best ever
Good stuff.
Steven Tyler:
"So, let me give you my humble and honest opinion"....
Yeah....let's cut here...…????
Hahahaha....
They keep the music and memories pristine by not going out as a bunch of old codgers on a money grab reunion tour. I respect that. I know there were gigs here and there, but please don’t do anymore.
"You Say It Best When You Say Nothing At All"
I can do without LZ now, Page wasn't what he once was on the 07 show. Plant is even older now, better remember them as they were
I think the fact that he didn't have the full use of his pinky finger for the 02arena show had an effect on the way he played. He'd broken it a couple weeks before the show. I know I couldn't play Zeppelin songs at all without all my fretting fingers. I'm sure it caused the setlist to change
I cant believe Myles Kennedy turned down th Zep gig when Jimmy offered! I wouldve screamed " Yes!!" Faster than anyone in th history of th world!
Led Zeppelin will never come back together. Since the death of John Bonham has the band not been the same for Robbert and Jimmy
He should go and talk to the Gallaghers Axl must’ve been harder to convince than Noel
ZEPPELIN PAVED THE WAY FOR ALL KNOCK OFF BANDS✊🏾
Anyone read Joe Perry's book, Rocks? There's a very different side to this story.
I hate when bands break up it blows like Sabbath RATM Van Hallen etc it blows
Makes the reunions even sweeter. Goddamn Rage at Big Day Out 2008 was like all of my highschool dreams come true. I'd come to terms with the thought that I'd never get to see them. Zach writhing and churning across the stage, people punching each other then apologising... Sweat. So much sweat. That was a time.
Tom Underwood - Zeppelin didn’t actually ‘break up’.. they lost not only their drummer but a best friend also.. big difference..
Aerosmith as relevant as LZ. In what dimension is this true?
Bill Ward of Black Sabbath
Plant still performs and does Zeppelin songs, I don't get why he can't do that with JPJ and Page
Bill Ward best drummer
Just saw Plant in Bend. He can still sing, but not high--in fact, if you can believe it, he never went into his falsetto. So, er, no Led Zeppelin.
Now work your magic on Sting and Stewart Copeland!
I'd LOVE to see Led Zeppelin back together..
There are 40 people who claim to get GnR back together (Axl and Slash). Love Steven but I doubt it. He doesn't look his age, hard to believe after all these years he still looks like a rock star!
Who are you to doubt what he says...?..
@@baldone45 who are you to believe what he says...?.

Wonder if Tyler could talk some sense into Perry and Schon??
