This brought a couple tears to my eyes. I’m the granddaughter of the original owner. Her and I went all over the US in this truck. I was even potty trained in it. Lol took me back to my childhood, laying in the sleeper and looking out the window when I woke up to seein the US through the window in the sleeper. All the miles, sitting in the seat up front and singing to “rubber duck” and “On the road again”. She even had the original cell phone on a cord in the beauty. As I grew older, I got the privilege of tirelessly cleaning and polishing her, inside and out. It was my grandmothers pride and joy. Thank you for bringing the gal back to life. I still miss the old color. It was originally black, although, the striping is original. The Livlab sleeper had a different layout originally as well, I remember when she finally decided to redo it. The best part of these videos was seeing that gorgeous dash again. I always admired, as a kid, how it lit up in the early morning as we got ready to hit the road as the sun came up. All the lights on, and the rumble of the Cummins coming to life! Thank you for getting her out of the barn. It’s been stored for way too long.
I remember this truck! In August 1984 it was featured in American Trucker Magazine. At that time it was painted black and a woman owned it. I still have the magazine. On page 22 LIVLAB had an ad for these. The cost was $ 17,000 dollars.
The 80s - enough chrome to plate a battleship, more orange lights than a commercial airport, and stripes on your stripes over your stripes. Oh, and the mudflaps have their own mudflaps. I'd put money on the paint being Ford Diamond White. Everything in the 80s was Ford Diamond White. Glorious!
She’s looking amazing it must feel good to see your hard work paying off. I’d certainly rather drive this than trying to manoeuvre one that’s over 300 inches long.
EXCELLENT, LAST VIDEO I SAW OF THE TRUCK SHE WAS ON THE HOOK GETTING TOWED HOME. STILL HAS THAT GOD AWFUL CLATTER COMING FROM THE RIGHT SIDE ENGINE/TRANS AREA. CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT THAT MIGHT BE? THANKS IN ADVANCE. GLAD TO SEE HER ROLLING DOWN THE ROAD AGAIN, WHERE IT SHOULD BE! DID MORE READING, FOUND OUT IT IS THE AIR COPRESSOR/DRYER MAKING ALL THE RACKET, THANK'S.
First thing is getting this air compressor and air dryer rebuilt to get rid of that awful taping noise LOL!!!!!! Interior, no changes coming, everything is in great shape. I have to make a video but its been so hot here, hiding from the sun LOL 100 degrees every day.. waiting for a break
That ticking sounds bad I don't know if I'd drive this truck around much without getting it looked into. I'm just saying because I've never heard or seen anything do that without something majorly wrong with the truck. Again congratulations on the beautiful truck it's definitely going to be a very nice trip truck once everything is taken care of. I'd be happy to own this truck and has a shower and bathroom built-in. Man they all need this modification.
@ThePoconoPete It’s definitely a neat and unique truck and it's been kept in really great condition for a 82 Pete. What motor does she have and what is the gear ratio for that if you don't mind me asking. Are you going to restore this truck fully or what was your plans for the ole girl?
Why does it sound like it's got a bent push rod or something in the engine. And what is the backstory on this rig how did it come to be. It must have quite a history behind it what exactly have you found out about it and it's past ownership history?😮
Making videos for that still. Sound is either the air dryer or compressor. New video coming this weekend when the parts come in. Hopefully it’ll fix it
Whats that knocking sound. That clack clack. Not being a hater. Im not a diesel guy. If it was a 5.4 3v ford i’d have ya covered. Lol. I heard the ssme sound in the video when u first picked up the truck. Sounds like rod knock.
It’s the original, old school, Air Dryer. Normal with these Cummins motors back then. I have to upgrade it, but, have to change all the airlines with the new one so I haven’t done it yet lol

Thank you for sharing that. We are in Wildwood FL if you want to bring your family to see the truck
Got to love them old ticking compressors on the older Cummins, every one I drove did it.
What a gem of a Truck.
It’s so annoying 😅😅 they have new air dryers now but I didn’t want to change anything.
i came to comments hoping it wasnt a rod or top end tick, good to hear its healthy!
@@MrArfalarf I’ll have the air dryer updated eventually lol
Man that Ol' girl cleaned up Beautiful!!
Still have to do a walk through of the sleeper but man it’s been really hot down here in Florida.
@@ThePoconoPete It's a damn nice truck, & definitely one of a kind . Can't wait to see the interior video.

Yes! We also have the magazine. We just purchased the truck from the original owner, woman, you’re speaking of. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 thanks for sharing!!
You are correct sir
@@ThePoconoPete you're welcome and thank you for saving this truck!!!
I prefer the paint job on her now... It's '80s period correct perfection. You gotta keep it as it is.
She's looking amazing 😍 I would love so see a detailed video on the interior 🙏
Working on getting it cleaned up still. It’s been a while 😅
Beauty. She looks happy 😊
So am I!
Total time capsule. Outstanding.
I miss the functional marker lights on the newer trucks...
Will probably switch the LEDs that are on the cab and sleeper to the old school lights. Don't like the ones that are on there now with the little dots
Wow what a unit. I get the same feeling watching this old truck like watching an old steam locomotive go down the tracks. There is nothing like it.
Thanks! These old trucks never stop working
Beautiful machine

I agree. The stretched trucks are unpractical
Amazing what A little TLC does beautiful old girl that flexible coupling sounds rattly

Don’t really care for dogleg stacks…I think I would rather created some slots for straight stacks, just saying.
that would interfere with the sleeping area up top
That Ol Girl is Beautiful 😍 Love the Red White and Blue! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN
Screams ‘MERICA
@@ThePoconoPete It sure does! I love it! They don't make them like they used too. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
