@@Bo_Hazembros talking like medium format has been a thing in video for eons. Medium format isn’t even a video term. Now the Fuji GFX100 and its mark ii has now made an interesting introduction to the industry as like a mini “nearly” 65mm digital large format. Neither is “better”. The only thing that makes them better or worse is their dynamic range and the level of engineering behind its readout, processing power etc. ISO is only extra effective if you have good dynamic range. ARRI just made an ARRI Alexa 35 that covers just a bit more than Super 35 and has insane dynamic range. So by definition their super 35 is by far better than most all your FF cameras. 😂 We’re also not trying to “kill” IMAX, but rather democratize it. Medium format provides a new larger field of view that is similar to IMAX, but isn’t as large as the actual Alexa 65. If its a fun fact I recently learned... The reason some sensors end up making those darker browns and other darker colors look off or slightly purple in the blacks is apparently because of older sensors infrared light pollution. The newer sensors have better abilities to only detect the visible light spectrums or filter the infrared spectrum better. It was an issue for so many camera sensors in the past because the infrared spectrum of light is so close to the visible light that sensors would begin to receive a bit of it as well.

FS5/FS7/C300/C200 style bodies are the best. idk about all these dslr style video cameras lol. why? Why make a video camera that is shaped like a photography camera, but brand it as a full on video camera? Makes zero sense. No NDs, no proper audio (unless you pay extra), no video centric button layout, no top handle (once again unless you fork out the extra cash), and lastly, and this may seem trivial on the surface, but it does matter, you look like everyone else. I guarantee you that you'll look miles ahead of everyone walking in with an FS5/FS7/FX6 vs this tiny little camera that everyone else has. Think about it. From a client perspective, they will see your production equipment and consciously or sub-consciously think to themselves, what's so special about this production? I own a camera that looks exactly like what this guy we're paying thousands of dollars uses. Now of course they have no clue that your camera shoots in S-cinetone with higher bitrate codecs, but that doesn't even matter at the end of the day. We all know we can put up FS5 footage right next to FX30 footage and a client could care less. To them they look EXACTLY the same. Hell even for us filmmakers you can barely tell the difference. If I showed you 1080 10bit 422 footage from an FS5 and then showed you FX30 footage and asked you to tell me which was which, you couldn't do it, unless you just got lucky.
I do a lot of online corporate video editing, so I get a lot of projects from a whole host of cameras. I know when a Sony FX30 has been used because the footage is usually really bad. Not at all because of the camera! It's the people using them! I guess a lot of beginners get them because it's one of the best cameras for the money. But the amount of shaky, over exposed, cranked shutter, poorly WB and badly framed footage Ive seen from these cameras has made me never want one! Haha!
Unless you have rapid motion on the screen, shutter speed is irrelevant. You can set it to anything faster than the frame rate as long as the exposure is correct.
What kind of sense does it make ? You explain it's because of people (using it the improper way), then you go with "I don't want this camera.". So, allow me to make it more understandable... "But the amount of shaky, over exposed, cranked shutter, poorly WB and badly framed footage Ive seen from these cameras has made me never want one!"... no. "But the amount of shaky, over exposed, cranked shutter, poorly WB and badly framed footage I've seen from these people, who call themselves camera operators, has made me want to send them to technical training, then operate this camera myself !"... YES !

😆
It costs 2300 euros in France and 2700 euros with the handle. I will never understand why we get all electronics at least 500 dollars more expensive
Arri has super 35 costs $100,000 + but FX30 $2000 can’t complain 😂
R: MARKETING
Ugh the fomo on this one is hitting me lol.
First 🎉
I do a lot of online corporate video editing, so I get a lot of projects from a whole host of cameras.
YES !
Cringe title > Dislike
film ≠ APS-C Sensor ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
popular? not really
