i just went thru this with my mom at her home and it was heartbreaking when they sleep all the time and are so fragile and helpless - she died 3/6/23

Wow, this mannequin looks so realistic! I thought that was a real person until the nurse checked for bottom ulcers 😂

I feel tearful because in the U.S. now it is scary who is matched up
to watch over these fragile people, loud, disrespectful and hardly ever
a person who the person would chose to essentially overtake the vulnerable
person and their home. We would give anything to find 2 women such as these two professionals.. 😞

Compassion, patients and empathy should be first and foremost in this line of work... unfortunately this is sometimes not the case...

I'm so sorry you are experiencing this! I am a care giver that stays with the client on different shifts to help with whatever is needed. I have never had a single thought of doing anything to my patients or their family. I treat my patients like they are my mom or grandma. Keep looking, you will hopefully find the right person to help you.

Evan a first year Nurse knows if an area is red it needs to be seen to written report in a communication book and in this case not done mother did the nurse show the daughter how the care is done ?
The Nurse should have made sure the bottom sheet was Flat No Creases , as creases give rise to sores

Ok firstly patient contact where are her gloves ? So she has checked the pressure areas and has established that although there is no broken skin there is a slight reddening . If I was nursing that patient I don't agree with just monitoring the areas is not enough prevention . if it is showing slight redness then to prevent the areas from worsening I would be applying the area with Sudoceem or something similar and moving her position every few hours . Also if available ordering a air mattress to sit on top of the hospital mattress to take the weight off those pressure areas what nursing school did this nurse go to because if she did that in my ward she would of got chewed out by the NUM .

A few other things I noted that a first year Nurse should & would know Why did not this Nurse not do so , as she would have been a Quolified Nurse?
This Palative care team needs to get their staff training better

This video was just a quick demonstration for our Palliative Care team on how our 'Vivien' Lifecast manikin can be used for end-of-life care. It does not represent the full procedures and final training but concentrates more on the compassion and empathy required for this type of scenario.

As a health care assistant, ‘professional’ by the way. Why is the DN only wearing a mask and not full PPE? please tell me the patient is a dummy with ‘Turkey teeth’ because I know my clients would have at least moaned a lithe bit. 😢 from my standard this is very poor practice.
