Changed the jets on the Mikuni carburetor on the Predator 212, to see if it would make the minibike run faster. Did a top speed run and things didn't turn out as planned?

That’s sick! I didn’t think the tires would hold up to speeds of 58 mph. My parents bought me a 71 Rupp roaster for my 10th birthday Man this brings back such great memories! You should start selling full minibike kits I’d be the first in line! Awesome video thanks so much for sharing!

Had a rear blow out at 35 mph. Do yourself a favor heed this warning. It fucking hurt man. 60 will kill you. Be safe guys it happens way to fast.

I had my old tire come apart doing 55 and it slapped my back so hard and knocked the air out of me, I had to go get surgery and now I’m back at making videos from about a 1 month break, I put new tires on (sun f) and now it goes about 65 without any issues. Be careful guys it’s not worth your life and I’m lucky to be alive I was inches away from a pole. My minibike is running but a little rough.
What’s size carb is that 24?
Always carry a couple tools with ya! Learned that at like 12yrs old after a 5 mile walk in the dark! NJ
Right I was riding an my chain tensioner disintegrated at about 45mph was pretty sketch and had to ride home at about 8mph it sucked
130 main and 12.5 pilot has always worked wonders for my Wildcat 223!
I have found that jetting also has to do with elevation. I'm at 3500 feet. The air is a little thin.
I'm in Cali at 200ft and my carb runs at 132 main 38 pilot jet stock 212cc predator with a header pipe and 28mm oko carb
@@dabtech7456 Elevation definitely has an effect on all this stuff . My tune would be different from Yours at 3500 ft.

Thanks! I like it because it's a pretty simple set up. I like the Mikuni carb. They are super easy to tune.

Yes! That is what I need to do too. I don't mind walking but only without pushing the minibike lol
@@Black66 I don't think my carb will come off without a fight now, and my chain should be pretty bullet proof as of now. Something else will have us walking I'm pretty sure though.

I've made mistakes like this one. One time I forgot to tighten the float bowl screws. I found out that I forgot to tighten the float bowl screws after the fire.
I hear ya. I should have brought some tools...
This is why you never go out and test without bringing Tools with you ! every mini bike I own and motorcycle has its own tool kit permanently on the bike
I have a 212 predator on a cc100x frame i fully removed governor and added mukini carb and exhaust pipe and 22 lb valve springs!!! Ive the adjusted the throttle needle all the way to the bottom slot !! What jetting would you recommend??? It bogs when giving full throttle or doesnt rev all the way up ??
OMG the carb is loose?? That’s a shocker that’s why you take the bowl off to change a jet because the carb and expansion should be lock tight!!

If you haven’t had to limp home because something you did to it either wasn’t tightened or came off then you are not mini biking 😂 this was me the other day legit same problem loose at the manifold

Yeah I’m in AZ too, the cops only care if you go reckless or anything unsafe, I converted my mini bike into somewhat a legal one, mirror, signals, lights and such. Haven’t been pulled over.

Where did you get the 17 tooth clutch at? I'm looking for one for 420 chain with a 50 tooth rear sprocket for Mega Moto 212 Max mini bike.
That's my favorite bike! That's a sweet looking frame . I'm not sure if they make a 17 or 18 in a 420 chain. But I know an Ebay seller that has a 12 tooth 420 clutch. With those taller tires I bet that 12 tooth would make that bike fly.

So how did the 125 work out once you got the carb nice and secure? Was it cutting out do to flooding from running too rich? Thanks.
Im at 3700-foot elevation. A 125 is usually too big up here unless the engine is modified. Check out the playlists and other carb videos for more on the VM22

A bro I’m having issues with my Mikuni genuine carb , is it jus for built bikes ? I’m running it stock with jus the governor removed I added a 115 it doesn’t run it jus starts and revs when I left the tire up it starts going even with no gas I tried adjusting the idle it doesn’t do anything really what u recommend for a stock 212 what size jet and how many turns on the air/gas ratio
Check out this videoif you havent already . If the air screw is less than a turn out you might need to add a biiger pilot jet.

I CANNOT get my 212 running right with 130 main and 17.5 pilot…my bikes (I have 2 of them with the same mods) are ungoverned, cammed, heavier springs, etc…i know its a tuning issue because theyre both the same….start on choke then pop and spit fuel out intake…wont start unless its choked…how many turns on air idle screw? I dont think its getting enough fuel which leads me to believe its the fuel screw that needs to be adjusted….If it is running and i crack the throttle its super delayed….im almost inclined to put the stock predator carbs back on because im getting super frustrated…any thoughts??

Also, make sure there are no leads or anything where the carb bolts to the intake manifold and where the manifold bolts to the engine. the intake can be put on upside down and they will not run right

Plz beware of the tires you use on these bikes. Despite what everyone thinks, it is not hard to make a mini bike stupid fast. But i think alot of us aren't thinking about the tires being used to do it. They are not safe unless they are a quality brand or a race tire. What brand of tire does this bike in the video have on it?

What would u recommend with a 22mm makuni the jetting with a billet fly wheel a billet rod and I'm not sure what kind of cam yet but
I always start out with a little bigger jet than the carb came with. If you throw a 115 jet in it, or around there ,I think that will get it running pretty good ,or in the ball park . And then as you get more radical with the build you can move up in jet size. . That is a good starting point for me.

@@Black66 0n other note I get tje billet fly wheel for the hemi I think 6625 mabe but the one that bolts right to the stock moter the stock pull string
It won't need any modification
@@keithbrown7088 Yes, it will bolt right on and will use the stock pull string. But before you bolt it on make sure you use some valve grinding compound and seat the flywheel to the crankshaft.

What pilot jet and main jet you running before you changed?

@@Black66 I know that I'm just trying to find a base line to start at. I have a flat head Briggs that ran on methanol and im converting back to gas.
@@Tota1Everything Nice! We used to run the Flat heads Briggs back in the 80's on Methanol. They use to have Horstman billet parts with Tillotson double pumper carbs.
@@Black66 it had the old school style Briggs carb that went into a gas tank and I had removed it all and made a mikuni manifold. It runs but it is running lean right now.

I can’t get the main jet and jet holder loose from each other, any advice?
Yes. Screw it all back into the carburetor , and then hold the “jet holder / emulsion tube”with a small wrench or crescent wrench , while using a flathead screwdriver to unscrew the jet.
Me either it’s like it’s stuck on the jet holder and I stripped the jet
It won’t come off of the jet holder
@@samuelcastro437 forgot how I got it off I think I gripped a flat head bit with pliers while I used other pair of pliers to grip the other end and unscrew it

I think its simular in size. This is a pretty small bike.

What type of frame is that..has to be custom? I mean holy shit bro. Your doing 58 on a mini bike ...... that frame looks identical to my mini. I bought used in 1980 with same 5 hp briggs 👴 ... does 22 mph and shakes alittle at that speed 😆🤣😂 what tires and bearing do you use? It's got to be really good parts no? I mean 58 that's crazy fast.....you were passing cars🤣🤣🤣
