Did you have to press in the new tie rod ends into the steering knuckle and wishbone? Mine will not go in by hand, and so far trying to press them in has bent both brand new tie rod ends. I have to order another set and try again!
@@straybenzes Maybe the tie rod ends i ordered are more "universal" than I expected. i've got some lemforder ones coming now that will hopefully go right in.
Hey Ralph! Thanks for keeping classic Mercedes on the road and well maintained!
Thanks, my man!
Great video man. Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Thanks. Brazil? Cool!
Surprised you didn't add grease fittings to the tie rod ends to make them last longer.
I am not aware of any commercially available ones that come with a thread for a grease nipple.
@@straybenzes You can tap threads to ball joints/tie rods and add grease fittings. Look up videos on DIY.

I wish you were not far around Johannesburg to fix my E220 ,im strangling to start
Oh yes, that would be a little too far around the corner.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Glad you liked it.
👍
Thanks!
PAY ATTENTION: the outer tie rod goes in from the bottom, the inner goes in from the top. It will not work the other way.
I am sure that you are not the only one who that happened to.

Wow. No, that is a new one for me. The tapered part must go in by hand. If that is not possible there is something majorly off.

@@mattpanz609 That should work
I was trying to put them in the wrong way! The outer end goes in the bottom and the inner goes in the top, just like your video shows.
@@mattpanz609 Oof. Yeah that makes sense. Glad you caught that.
