- Yes, with the 3rd Lockdown in England well underway, I thought it would be a good time to bring back the 'Walkabout' videos from the 1st Lockdown.
In this video, I firstly stroll through Garstang in Lancashire, where after buying a latte, I take a walk along a footpath I've never explored before - only to find my progress halted soon after, by a large excavator.
Undeterred, I continue along the Lancaster Canal towpath for a short while and walk carefully down the frozen steps of the Wyre Aqueduct and proceed along the River Wyre, where I soon join another footpath which eventually leads me to the large River Wyre Flood Barrier.
En-route, I discuss how I'm managing (so far) to keep sane throughout this continuing uncertainty, including discussing my dietary choices . . .

I absolutely endorse your thoughts on self care. Feeding your mind and emotions on media, particularly legacy "news" sources, is like taking poison, in my view. A couple of brisk walks per day as well as healthy and creative cookery are doing wonders for me, Kevin. You are not the first person I've heard speak of the benefits of Turmeric of late. I will look into that. Thanks for the tip! I know words are cheap, but many of us are grateful that you continue to share your life with us. Bless you, Kevin.

Kevin becomes a friend through these wonderful vids. He exhibits such authenticity and courage as he takes on these challenges. He’s brought such beauty and joy in an ugly pandemic. Would also like to know he is doing well.

Kevin, you have been on my mind of late! I check often to see if there's any news of how you are, and what you're up to! I'm sure I speak not only for myself, but for many of us, when I say that we would all love to hear from you. Nothing spectacular, just a quick note to let us all know that you're still doing alright! It is a constant battle right now, to keep our spirits up, and do things that keep us healthy.

Don't keep looking in the mirror pulling faces it might become a habit. If you have any questionable baking situations send me an e-mail. Hoping for a return to normality sooner than later. It might be cold, with wind, frost or rain in your northwest of England as is my northwest of the US; yet viewing your latest RUclips brings warmth and sunlight to this day. Lockdowns are not good anywhere so please respect what the guy's feelings are. We are not on FB‐which I canceled an hour ago because I am tired of negative people and Kevin is always positive and tries to lift people up not down.. He is such a breath of fresh air and I'm so glad his video popped up tonight. We are fortunate to be in Florida where we basically have no lockdowns except those we put on ourselves. We love Kevin's videos and enjoyed every single minute of the first 4 seasons. My only complaints are my husband expects me to cook the yummy meals that Kevin cooks and we had Travels by Narrowboat withdrawals for weeks. We love you Kevin!!! Kevin, Thanks for letting us come along on your walk and listening to your thoughts, Some paths are like life where we don't know where they go and sometimes we need to turn around and find another way. Walking the paths of life is usually better than just standing still which is sometimes okay because we need a break before we continue on. But on we must go. Hang in there.

I'm so very thankful I'm in Texas. As stated by another poster, we are still living mostly normal here, even in late November 2021. I so appreciate your videos because I'm very drawn to your country but know I'll never make it in person. The cities don't interest me but the beautiful countryside and villages certainly do! Thank you for taking us around England on the canals.

I can't thank you enough for sharing your experiences on your narrowboat! This was the first time I had ever heard of or seen narrowboats or the canals of the UK. My quick business trips to the UK have only included London.
I found you on Prime and your episodes literally got me through the past year. Just before going to sleep, I would watch you and Aslan travel through the countryside and forget about the stress of the pandemic for a few minutes each day.
Thank you for keeping me sane and opening my eyes to narrowboating! I now spend my days daydreaming about when it will be safe to travel from New England to England and spend a week in a narrowboat hotel.

Thanks Kevin for the tips on self care. Getting a bit of extra exercise is so important in times like these. Not only does it relieve the inevitable stress and strengthen the body but it keeps one away from the television. The Guest Fruit of the Week sounds like a great idea. A fun way to mix things up a bit.

Many thanks for all of your video's, we found you again on You Tube after enjoying all of your Canal videos over the last few years. Like you all our plans for last year went down the pan, but i used the time well in many others ways, mostly good days, but have the odd dark one, which under the circumstances is not surprising. Anyhow, you look after yourself, and if you ever pass my way on your motorbike the kettle is always on.

Brought a smile to my face with your mirror talk, thank you! I needed that. We don't have the rain or mud over here, but we do have snow and ice which can be problematic for walking. We are also in lockdown and I can say I'm fed up with it lol. Keep smiling and keep talking, even if it's just to us lot!

My daughter and I made a list of everything we CAN do to take the focus off all the things we can't
Lots of simple pleasures aside from walking (which is itself the simplest of pleasures)
Reading,resting, eating, sleeping,doing yoga, watching escapist TV, learning about nature.. the list is as long as you can make it cos,for all the shitshow we're experiencing life itself IS a gift
I can't bubble with another house cos my kid goes between parents in 2 households already but you could..just to get through to spring in decent mental health

I just got done watching all of your seasons on Amazon Prime and enjoyed it immensely; thank you again for taking us along with you on your travels. It's just my personal impression, but you seem to be of much better outlook and disposition than you were when you first set out aboard Aslan even with all of the current challenging circumstances.
