    It's weird, the human intuition that we're taught to discount a lot of the time. A friend of mine is adopted and felt a strong bond with two women (sisters) she'd met through work. They all felt so connected they joked that they must be cousins. A year or two later, a full genealogy was released through the sisters' Indigenous community that was done largely through the help of a 99 year old elder with a strong memory. And after finding out who her birth parents were, she was going through the genealogy and found out they were actually cousins. I think sometimes North American culture pooh-poohs the idea of "knowing" things without knowing them, but when you learn to recognize intuition, a lot of the time I've found we discover we're right more than we're wrong on some things like familiarity and connection.
