    I know this is from 5 years ago, but when I sold Pampered Chef years ago, I learned that instead of throwing out the apple skin once you peel it, take a pot of water and put the apple peels in it with some cinnamon or some ginger and turn the burner on medium. It gives off a great aroma instead of using chemical sprays to make your home smell good. You could also save them in a container for later, but spray a bit of lemon juice on it to keep the skins from browning.

    Thanks for the demo! I bought one of these 28 years ago and never used it. I need it today and forgot how to use it.

    My peeler is 20 yrs old. Is the lock arm supposed to be loose?

    Took the blade off of mine and just use it to peel as I feel the slices are to thin for making my pies.

    I like the stool mount. How do you clean the machine after use?

    What if you don't want the apple slices and just peeled?

    • @daniellelindstrom7246
      @daniellelindstrom7246  3 года назад +1

      Technically it has to do both unless you wanted to manually take off and unscrew the piece that slices of I guess you could try that and it would probably just peel it for you

  • @reneap9049

    What about the mess? Can you get a bowl under it to catch the peels & juice?

    • @daniellelindstrom7246
      @daniellelindstrom7246  3 года назад

      Sadly not really. It's all easy cleanup though. Juice doesn't come out really. More just water from washing them.

    I have one but can’t get it to skin the apple like you did

    • @daniellelindstrom7246

      Did you try adjusting the blade?

    • @lauradixon5270
      @lauradixon5270 5 лет назад

      @@daniellelindstrom7246 I seem to have a similar problem. I had a large apple and it peeled the beginning and end, but not the middle. Where is the blade supposed to be?

    • @nitetime6831
      @nitetime6831 4 года назад

      @@lauradixon5270 This happened to me too. Underneath the u shaped blade is a screw. I think it is a Y shape screw because I don't remember needing a screw driver. Mine became loose and would only skin the top part of the apple. Loosen the screw and realign the blade so that it is straight on it's platform, then tighten the screw so the blade sits square on the platform. After resetting the blade, it worked perfectly.
      Also, you can play with blade by moving it toward the apple or farther away. This gives you thinner or thicker peels.
      I think the y shaped screw is there so that if you need to clean or sharpen the blade you can take it off or clean behind the plate.
      By the way, this is only my experience. I am not a pampered chef consultant.

    Is. There a way to adjust the thickness of the slices?

    • @daniellelindstrom7246

      Unfortunately no

    • @reneap9049

      I was wondering the same, as I can my apples and the slices are too thin. I just peel with this then slice and core with another tool…..

      I bought my many years ago , at the time they had 2 sizes to make thin or thick. One was a red handled one other green handled. Not sure if they still sell them

    How do you just peel the Apple and not slice it

    • @daniellelindstrom7246
      @daniellelindstrom7246  4 года назад +1

      There technically is not a way to do that but I guess you could take off the piece that slices the Apple so that it's just not an option LOL

    After about 10 apples... black residue from the apple juice and the peeler started getting all over my hands and apples... what a disappointment! Anyone know how to stop this other than throw it in the trash and get a different one?

    • @daniellelindstrom7246
      @daniellelindstrom7246  3 года назад

      I just don't touch the metal and it doesn't get on my hands. I rinse it until I can't see color coming off after I'm done with it and I've never had any problems getting black on the apples or anything. I'm sorry!

    First of all,pretty stupid to point those daggers right in the kids face .I guess it is alright if you want spiral cut potatoes or apples.But not good for making apple slices for pies.

    About 1:31 seconds into your video scared the living daylight out of me. You have a cute little toddler but those prongs came way too close to his left eye. Sorry but toddlers shouldn't be around a machine that has pointed revolving prongs and sharp blades. Other than the near incident, it was a good presentation.
