Still played with people i knew and had fun. Bought a pet and one of these footsteps animation extras. This time i will get POE 2 at around 30~60 dollars and buy some probable fancy armor or effects or extra tabs. Heck i gotten 200 hours out of LE till it got stale (now waiting for extra stuff to get added that i like) and that cost me like .... 30 bucks too? If i can get another 100~200 hours in POE2 during one year im fine with paying 30~60 dollars.
That would be true if they didn’t completely sell out to Tencent and get Tencent’s hard coded spyware injected into Path of Exile so they can monitor and track people. The game is great, but don’t for a second think they didn’t sell out to Chinese spyware. They didn’t put you first. Or any gamer first.
I’m 42 years old and have been an avid gamer since the NES. This game simply looks revolutionary for the genre and for gaming in general. Unreal! It really takes arpgs to another level

Diablo 4 likely has 100x the playerbase sadly, hell Diablo Immortal probably has 100x the playerbase. The D4 dev team haven’t given a shit about making a good ARPG, they cared about making a casual ARPG. Because it sells far more.
they said "5 years since we ANNOUNCED POE2" not that they've only been working on poe2 for 5 years, probably had been building it for a bit before the announcement. Maybe more in the 7-8 year range.
It still boggles my mind how this game is going to be free to play. It show how greedy Blizz is selling a game with so little content, then lock additional content behind an expansion paywall with a price tag of an MMO expansion -- greedy and delusional.
Well early access is not free, im going to guess that everyone who really want to play this will be doing so via early access (including myself) whos paid $30 or more. Im sure later on people will join when its fully out but GGG knows what they are doing making money, its a business after all too. I guarantee the amount of players who paid to play on December 6 will be vastly more than the ones who join in for free when its fully out.
The complaint of locking DLC content behind the "paywall" of buying the DLC is hilarious on the face of it. That's what buying anything is. Hell, GGG is doing a paid early access for POE2 and I thought that was a pretty reviled newer thing that devs/pubs are trying to get away with.

They will drip feed content that was good in the previous games to drag out engagement, over a year to get a damn armoury to switch builds, something they developed 15 years ago, but hey, at least they gave us an option to switch between our £20 skins

I didn't play poe1 because I just got into arpgs about 3 years ago and it seemed like something I'd never catch up in so I started with the diablo games and I loved 3. But I've been following this and I'm so excited to be a day one player in poe2!

I love that the atlas is random, nobody will have the same experience, no two leagues the same, and some excitement when you find unique maps, or clusters of towers. GGG outdoes themselves once again
