🧐 For this tierlist, I did a small research: I estimated how often base roles appear in setups (Frequency), and how base roles compare to its advanced roles in terms of Fun and Strength. You might be looking for getting more Fun, maybe you try to increase your win rate, or most likely, both, so these are essential. Fun and Strength ratings are given per advanced role vs base role, either a score of 1-5 (= advanced role is absolutely stronger), 2-4 (= advanced role is likely stronger), 3-3 (= the roles are equal, hard to compare or similar), 4-2 (= the base role is likely stronger) and 5-1 (= the base role is absolutely stronger). An example of a role: Bodyguard 🆚 Tough guy Strength: 2 (BG) - 4 (TG) Fun: 2 (BG) - 4 (TG) Bodyguard 🆚 Seer apprentice Strength: 3 (BG) - 3 (Seer app) Fun: 3 (BG) - 3 (Seer app) Bodyguard has an average Strength of 2,5 (2 when compared to TG, and 3 when compared to Seer app) and Fun of 2,5, which is a value of 5 in total. The average of the advanced roles are 3,5 (Strength) and 3,5 (Fun), which is a value of 7 in total. 7-5 = +2, meaning the advanced roles have a +2 value for Strength and Fun. This is then always divided by 2, and so is the Frequency rating (in this case 3, which makes 1,5). You then get: 1 x 1,5 = 1,5 as Upgrade score.
Alpha wolf is terrible until you see a Cupid/Instigator game. In the latter case, controlling WW kills becomes a big deal especially in the late game since it can determine if someone from the instigator is going to die.

In my opinion voodoo werewolf is useless. Any smart informer role can just do coded communication with the village to give his info, and even if he doesn’t do that he can come up with two new infos next day. Nightmare werewolf is just much more consistent, seer not being able to give info for two full days is really good and you cannot outplay that unless you get rid of the role early on and all three of the advanced roles of nightmare werewolf are just a huge downgrade and not worth it.
@@hypostein nww’s advanced versions are great against bad/mid players but they’re literally useless against top tier players imo so I would always prefer nightmare ww over his advanced roles
@@mimyaka6849 for storm and swamp I would agree, for voodoo I am neutral. Voodoo has its advantages over nightmare, unless you only think those roles are important for blocking info. Voodoo for instance can be very clutch for late games against solos or 3 ww vs 4 vill situations and then nightmares might be less useful.
My I ask? Is that advance role you get after upgrading is random? Like Loudmouth have 3. If we upgrade it. Do we always get Avenger first, then second card would be Bell Ringer and last Fortune Teller for third card. Or it's always random to get one of these three?
it is always random, however if you already have one or two of the advanced roles, you will get a new one guaranteed. So if you upgrade your first LM card, it can become Fortune teller, Avenger or Bell-ringer, but if you get Bell-ringer and you upgrade another LM role to epic tier, you will guaranteed get Avenger or Fortune teller. So yes, rng is also something to keep in mind when upgrading.
I had it for some time too and it's so bad. It does less than just nothing. It's clunky, you have to be careful who you jail and you have to rely on others to make this role even useful.
wouldnt recommend sacrificing paci, Why? Because it's still better than Flower child and as long as FC and Paci are the only roles in that family, why would you upgrade FC to paci to then sacrifice it?
Heyyy hypo, haven’t played this for years so I’m having a bit of a culture shock. Is it that now u have to purchase cards for each role u plan to play in certain game modes?
@hypostein no I mean bandit does exactly what sk does but he can also have an accomplice wich is devastating for the village because they can't know who turned, and he also kills wws all the same. He is sk just better sk just kills every night and can't die from wws bandit kills every night with an accomplice and can't die from wws see.
Also i got judge, flagger, wolf summoner and forger recently, looks like we can agree on something at least 😅, but i like cursed by itself because I dont have any responsibilities and I can just spectate 😂
CONTROVERSY ALERT: I think Warden is one of the worst advanced roles. I personally find its killing ability both bland and OP; in 95% of cases it's used to jail the counter-claims and have them shoot each other (especially in qg). Not to mention that it being a jailer with two jails + having the chat be only with inmates doesn't add much to the jailer. Also I'm glad someone finally agrees that Instigator isn't as great as everyone says it is, I think it's unbalanced and trying to get the couple to figure out your role and vice versa seems more exciting to me
Corr depends. If you are looking for something that is much different from base role, then absolutely. If you are looking for guaranteed strength upgrade, then no.

An example of a role:
Bodyguard 🆚 Tough guy
Strength: 2 (BG) - 4 (TG)
Fun: 2 (BG) - 4 (TG)
Bodyguard 🆚 Seer apprentice
Strength: 3 (BG) - 3 (Seer app)
Fun: 3 (BG) - 3 (Seer app)
Bodyguard has an average Strength of 2,5 (2 when compared to TG, and 3 when compared to Seer app) and Fun of 2,5, which is a value of 5 in total.

@@Iron_Soil tbf, kitten isnt that bad, neither are bully and ww fan. As ww fan you can cause a lot of chaos easily because you are an evil with a good aura.
I have prepared a card for every advanced role so far, so that I can play any role in the end. Should I continue that way or level up the best cards now?
Yes make sure you get all the advanced roles first before upgrading to legendary
Hypo we should get a how to play wolf scribe vid 😱
Do you have a list of all the quick game and sandbox setups?
No sadly not, I did an estimation
You can see it in game under roles section
@@HeyBous13 nah thats just the current ones, I assume theyre looking for setups all-time
@@HeyBous13 You can only see the setup for that week
i wanted avenger too, got fortune teller instead, real pain.. honestly im trying again, bell ringer or avenger, wish me luck
good luck, though bell ringer is not the worst and still an upgrade compared to loudmouth imo 🤞
@@hypostein my mann i got it, i just finished it about 10 minute ago and got avenger!
@@thehungarian7930 nice job! Avenger is my favourite role 🙌
@@hypostein use to be mine too in 2020 when it was a base, cant wait to try
Can you please make a video about the card perks available for each card?
Possibly
@@hyposteinI checked the profile of a player that has all the legendary cards and 4 or 5 mytical, and I saw some icons that I couldn't recognize, the fool had an Icon that I couldn't Identify for example

i wouldn't say Lm is waste of cards even if u get ft
Ft is worse imo than lm, it can only prove itself
@@hypostein
Lm boring and one of weakest villages ig
@@zezo1335 you may find it boring, and yes, LM is down there when it comes to weakest vill roles, like FT and FC
@@hypostein
at least ft can do something (even if it's useless) while lm just setting waiting to die
also ft might get a buff sooner or later
In my opinion voodoo werewolf is useless. Any smart informer role can just do coded communication with the village to give his info, and even if he doesn’t do that he can come up with two new infos next day. Nightmare werewolf is just much more consistent, seer not being able to give info for two full days is really good and you cannot outplay that unless you get rid of the role early on and all three of the advanced roles of nightmare werewolf are just a huge downgrade and not worth it.
What type of coding are you referring to, as emoji/rose code is bannable...
@@hypostein “I’ll check 3 and say … if he’s evil and say nothing if he good”.
@@mimyaka6849 ah yeah forgot about that
@@hypostein nww’s advanced versions are great against bad/mid players but they’re literally useless against top tier players imo so I would always prefer nightmare ww over his advanced roles
@@hypostein ok thnak you. I just need to be careful
hypostein, i have 2 legendary cards, but i am unable to see the upgrade to mythical option. could you explain why?
You need more before you get that option
from a warden card owner, believe me. Do never upgrade your jailer
I mean Warden is cool, but so is Jailer, so you are right 😄
nah, warden is hell lol
it would only be worth upgrading if you could jail the same people 2 consecutive nights@@hypostein
I had it for some time too and it's so bad. It does less than just nothing. It's clunky, you have to be careful who you jail and you have to rely on others to make this role even useful.
What about the new Werewolf upgrade (Scribe), what do you think?
It makes the Shaman a bit better to upgrade, but doesnt change much
Ok how is bg mid, i mean sa is cleanly more terrible than bg, and tg.... Just useless against corr, and sometimes you lose a round of voting
Tip:U can sacrificie these cards:Ft,Toxicww, paci, wwpaci, zombie, bomber, kww. Most of them useless, boring or hard to win.
wouldnt recommend sacrificing paci, Why? Because it's still better than Flower child and as long as FC and Paci are the only roles in that family, why would you upgrade FC to paci to then sacrifice it?
Heyyy hypo, haven’t played this for years so I’m having a bit of a culture shock. Is it that now u have to purchase cards for each role u plan to play in certain game modes?
Yes or rather, you unlock them by levelling up
Also welcome back Vincent Koh, I recognized your name right away from the past comments 😆
btw bandit is the exact same as sk but just better
ye like the sk advanceds pretty much
@hypostein no I mean bandit does exactly what sk does but he can also have an accomplice wich is devastating for the village because they can't know who turned, and he also kills wws all the same.
He is sk just better sk just kills every night and can't die from wws bandit kills every night with an accomplice and can't die from wws see.
solid list
Is it reportable to level target? I know its a dìck move, i've done it a couple of times 😅
yes, it's called meta-gaming, so it's reportable.
Same goes for role icon targetting and hero targetting 😉
@@hypostein but is it gamethrowing if I ALREADY know theyre not on my team and i do NOTHING about it 😗
Also i got judge, flagger, wolf summoner and forger recently, looks like we can agree on something at least 😅, but i like cursed by itself because I dont have any responsibilities and I can just spectate 😂
Shadow ww , alpha ww, ww seer are the most unfun and useless ones that must be upgraded.
Shadow is quite a good role, same for Wolf seer imo, but Alpha is absolutely a great upgrade
ok i still dont know what to upgrade after this, medium... alpha werewolf... shaman wolf... cursed... help me Hypo
ok oops i upgraded cursed
Cursed is a solid choice
The best out of those are alpha and shaman but cursed is decent
@@hypostein thanks- i got my fav role!! Its now golden lurker :)
