It's actually commendable. A lot of people end up duped down the road because

I respect Skip Bayless for that choice in life he chose not to have children because he knew what kind of father he would be it would have been nice if a lot of people in the industry and sports would be the same way. I believe many young men should not get married or women should not get married when you're in professional sports because that's what will always be first in your life and the person you marry will not always understand that and that is why you should not have children unless you are at the end of your career or you're retired! Because it's too many distractions on here in too much pressure for you to put your sport or your career first!marriage and children are a commitment that you should take seriously ! Marriage unfortunately has become a joke today t!

I have so much respect for you, BUT NOT BECAUSE of the contents in which you spoke of (career obsession, marriage issue, kids) but because of your genuine ability to know and understand your SELF and live unapologetically that way.
Having children, especially as a man has been proven to motivate you twice, if not thrice as much to work harder. However, the facts of life dont always have to align with our own personal philosophies and pursuit of happiness. A wise man who knows himself well, will always have a better shot at real self fulfilment in this life regardless of what hes been given/not given.

Skip has my upmost respect, and I must say I never thought I'd hear this from anyone. I'm much like this and even more so in the past 10 or more years. I've come to first be honest with and about myself, then include anyone that wants to be part of my life. I've gotten more flack over this than one can imagine, though I'm so much better off than most in many ways. Relationships just don't last. That's a fact. We outlast anything as long as we can, just as Skip explains here. Tom Brady loves football! He can still play. No matter what records he holds, that's not the point. The point is doing something you love for as long as you can, and in this case getting paid for it as well. Can't beat that or get that anywhere. Society is full of a lot of misconceptions, and fantasy, which many just go along out of fear for thinking that going against the grain makes you wrong, or a bad person. Most who still contact me are really miserable, and think they're going to drag me with them. No way. Life is in our hands, and we must do what we can and want with it. We were all given a brain, so use it. Don't let anyone else use it for you.
Great take Skip! You've given me even more incentive to keep on keeping on! Hope Tom comes back and continues to live his dream and life.
