"just be straight with me man. you can be gay with matt, but be straight with me" is such a great line, ngl it lives in my head rent free like all the time
I loved this episode! I'm a huge fan of episodes like "Basketball","Boys and Girls", "Safety Training", "Happy Hour", "Lottery", where we see the popsicles upstairs, and The Others from down in the warehouse, interacting with one another. The dialogue and the body language are always so painful. Not just Lonnie's open hatred of Michael and Val oscillating between super-confident and super-awkward at the Christmas party (I wanted so many more warehouse worker interactions in the Christmas episodes). We were robbed of so many sub-plots about the warehouse staff. The bodybuilder Glenn, saying he's scared of his co-workers. Madge, who hates Michael so much that she considers him unworthy of even shouting at like Lonnie; Hide, whose story is so implausible he sounds like a secret service plant... The only thing that could make this episode better would be the presence of Todd Packer, with Michael trying pathetically to impress him. LOVED this episode!!
Yeah, this is the first time an Andy storyline actively drags an episode down. If it wasn't for the Andy/Erin nonsense, this is a 4/5 episode for sure. The "...but no, I haven't read it" line is perfect.
GOD this isn't on topic but the IMDB paragraph writing guy sounds like a character pulled STRAIGHT from my brother my brother and me. Golden content. Guffawed when you revealed what his deal was
Fun fact: Toby, Meredith and Creed are the only characters who work in the office who are never involved in a romantic relationship on screen. We understand it with Creed and Meredith, but it seems unfair for Toby :(
On Phyllis' wedding, Toby is seen with a date whom he met at the gym (she is presented in later episodes as Toby's gf). Irl that was PL's soon to be wife :)
This is one of my favorite episodes in the whole series. I can’t stop laughing hysterically the whole time. So many hilarious moments. We even get Hedei’s story at the end.
The IMDB reviewer was definitely set up on a blind date that went terribly, or people have asked if he wanted to be set up. He sounded like this episode hit him personally.
Love these field guides, been binging them for a while since finding them. Pretty sure that extra that appears around 5:50 is Ralph Garmin. He does a podcast with Kevin Smith called Hollywood Babble-On, definitely check it out here on RUclips on Kevin's channel.
I think the episode's theme is temptation. Stanley and the manager indulged Michael and Andy acted immaturely and didn't know what to do with it. Dwight flirted with it blatantly in front of Angela. Just different variations of it.
In this episode it became obvious to me that some flanderisation of the characters was going of... Kevin crying on Pam's breasts was too much, as it was Date Mike...
Your reaction to that review really is something to behold given the lunacy of some of the 'deeper meanings' on this channel. It's rare to see hypocrisy this blatant.
Date Mike is so hard to watch. The episode is painful because Michael clearly has some charm when he's not trying. Maybe this is one of those personal impact things because I never dated in high school and clearly tried too hard in college...and my first actual girlfriend was the one I'd set aside and was just friends with (we didn't have "friend zone" as a term but I'd put her there) because I wasn't trying at all around her. A very painful lesson to learn... and really, not one you can learn because if you're aware of it then you start trying. I just feel so bad for Michael at this point. The only thing I love from this episode is Dwight meeting the girl he'd cast aside only to realize she's a better fit for him. (Dwight and Angela make sense when the two characters you can't stand start seeing each other, but as time went on Angela showed absolutely no positive reasons to like her.)
I'm not a big fan of the term tryhard, but generally it's for when someone is trying too hard for the situation, like someone going as hard as they can in a casual match.
I always liked this episode cos the way Micheal is succeeding with PB+Js friend at first reminds me of how Micheal is actually a good salesman? Of course he tanks it later 😆 I don't care all that much for the mini Donna-arc (I do like her though) but the stuff later with him not caring about being in a cheating situation makes me think of how desperate he is to be with someone to forget his sorrows that he is acting like an ass? Classic.
That review wasn't that weird? You say that some people say that you "over analyse" the review. Now you say that this person is over analyzing The Office and that it is bad. This guy just has a different (re)view and gives argument with that
This review is about a man in love with his shelf. He cannot stop taking things off the shelf. The audience wants him to discuss the Office episode with Date Mike, but Chris refuses by grabbing things off his shelf and playing with it. Even when the review goes on the audience is captivated by the tea pot. The teapot is on the shelf. It looks just like the tea pot Jim gave Pam, but Chris refuses to hold the teapot during this review. The Scranton strangler was mentioned in this episode, but was not in this review. Chris is disobeying the audiences expectations on not doing another in-depth study on who the strangler is. Maybe he has come to the realization that Toby is the Scranton Strangler. He trying to hide his own mind from the truth. Needless to say the love the reviewer has for Kevin will never end.
Love the review of my review. Incredible line: "a man in love with his shelf", subverting the typical "in love with himself" trope. Fluffy, if I spent time on every aspect of each episode at this point in the series, they'd be 45-60 minutes long (and would release once or twice a month)! As for the Strangler, 1) Toby is not even a suspect 2) I spent so long on the Strangler Series and did a livestream on it. I wouldn't want to oversaturate anymore than I had. #DwightCouldn'tStopTheStrangler
@@Mulverine That’s cool. Just to be clear since it’s hard to do it on text. The whole strangler rant and any of missed material was just sarcasm and me getting in the mind of someone who reads way too much into things. My real opinion is it’s Scub. The writers attended this to be a little extra detail added to the background of the story. I didn’t even know he was a thing when watching the show as it aired until Dwight dressed as him for Halloween. Heck I wasn’t even fully aware of who exactly Allen was or that he even appeared on the show until recently. Sorry if anything came off the wrong way.
I understand what that reviewer saw in that. I too was once set up by some friends without telling me. I would've said no thank you. But they did it, and once I got there and realized what was happening I said I was going to the bathroom quick, but then just walked right out. I don't care if that hurt her feelings because I don't even know her.

Why does this guy look like he's about to kidnap a band of chipmunks

...only to be thwarted by AAAAALLLLVIIIIIIIIIIIIIIN!
I saw David Cross in 8Bit Christmas, and his beard was gnarly.
I love the part where Dwight didn’t see angela behind him and flips out
when Phyllis say things like that, it just emphasizes more how Bob is actually a mob boss.
kelley was crying because she spilled her drink and they wouldn’t give her a refill

That review was written by Dwight K. Schrute and you can't convince me otherwise
Kevin's antics in this episode are among my favorite from him. However, this episode is where I truly start to despise Andy.

Because it wasn't 'Andy'. It was like a different role
Coming home from work and seeing a new upload is just so great... i mean really this makes my day.

Did they ever release "Somehow I Manage"?

No, Toby brings a girl to the office one time
Toby is not even part of his family
8:22 God I love these edits, so perfect.
Idk if I remember her from Caroline in the city, but I sure remember her as Wendy Wheelchair in Curb your enthusiasm
This is one of my favorite episodes in the whole series. I can’t stop laughing hysterically the whole time. So many hilarious moments. We even get Hedei’s story at the end.
Another great breakdown, Mate😭🤣
This is one of my favorite episodes
Michael isn't well suited to the gym life, but Pam is very fond of the Jim life.
i recently finished the office and this was definitely one of the hardest episodes to watch, just so awkward and cringey
The IMDB reviewer was definitely set up on a blind date that went terribly, or people have asked if he wanted to be set up. He sounded like this episode hit him personally.
Just watched this episode on UK Netflix and he asked for a Grenadine not Scotch with Splenda. Strange change.

Dwight’s love triangle is amazing

"UNIVERSAL DONOR"

Texas poon tapa is just “Texas Spoon Tapper” as in castanets

Love date Mike ❤️

Odd 🤷♂️😆

For some reason this episode above all is total cringe for me... even more than Scots tots. Good analysis Chris!
This episode was fun
For me this is the episode that jumped the shark. The characters in the show were not acting like themselves at all. It was cringy to watch.

How old is this episode? Jim has a lg chocolate ohone
I hate that Jim lets me be so disrespectful to Pam. And Date Mike is the worst Mike, it felt forced. Thank you so much for the video, amazing job!
The cousin from the wedding is super pretty.
i'm pretty sure that review was ai generated...
This was very meh for me. Kevin's bit stopped being cute the first time.
You kinda suit that hat! You look like an artisté 🤨
