I just finished watching your video about medieval resolutions to mental health issues. I have to say I love the amount of research you do in each video and even the way you explain everything is so easy to understand. This channel is 100% gonna BLOW UP with subscribers in the next year. Keep it up brother, thanks for another amazing video! 👑
It is so interesting that the greater the fear the more grotesque the monster. One can only guess at the terror of the early sailor in dark and dangerous waters, fed by hearsay and folklore
Yes this is kinda accurate really. Just looking at the bizarrely outlandish details of these creatures, it's like you are seeing a real-time snapshot of these sailors' imagination when they were at sea. The drawings feel both charming and terrifying
12:33 Could it be "The Ray" is actually "Manta Ray"? Despite it may actually a dolphin, the medieval people described (and drawn) the beast just like manta ray; with "wings" that's which may actually their triangular pectoral fins and also known harmless to people. CMIIW
I think the dolphin is quite a stretch seeing that this monster doesn't resemble it all, but yes, the Manta Ray could likely be the "Ray" mentioned here, seeing that manta ray is kinda large and is also harmless to humans as Magnus mentions.
@@andrekusumayadi4820 that's awesome to hear thanks! So glad you're enjoying the content 🙌🏻 the next video is going to be a much longer one so stay tuned 🌝
Definitely agree with you, and I’ll also be coming back a lot! I do hope that he’ll do some deep-dive in future videos - he has an AMAZING voice and since I love falling asleep to videos like this, it would be great if they were even longer
Yes it's such a charming map! My favorite actually. I plan to make a video analyzing this whole map in detail in the future not just the sea monsters, I'm sure you'll find it interesting! So many historical hidden gems in there
I really appreciate this! I think the full Carta Marina map video may drop around Christmas, for all its amazing wintry vibes :) (and sorry for the late reply, I don't get notified of all comments 😄)
@@dogetelevisione I honestly don't know if they actually made that up or that they *thought* they saw what they described, or a bit of both :) but their stories had a kernel of truth despite being quite exaggerated
Finished watching both the medieval mental health video and this one and extremely well done and interesting to watch really underrated channel and look forward to what videos come next!
