- The Kraken is best known as a mythological creature that terrorized the deep seas, a beast so big it could destroy a pirate ship with its massive tentacles, but scientists recently made a discovery that change this once fictional monster into a reality! Don't miss today's new video that reveals a real-life deep-sea Kraken out of the prehistoric ages.

For those who are now afraid of swimming: Giant squid rarely attack humans. They generally don't consider us food. And they're rarely seen anyway.
if ur not japanese if u are then... lets say its gonna be weird
Its not even confirmed that they exist and they live like 10k feet under water so nobody is gonna be scared to go to the beach XD
@@Zafwannabe did you not watch the video? It's definitely confirmed they exist. But yeah, not a danger to humans

Considering how little we've explored the sea and know it's depths.. creatures of super size is not impossible. Especially centuries back.
Yeah but the unexplored is the deep, and a big squid or shark wouldn’t be able to survive of the small food down there

Everything in this video is super accurate, I'm glad many people can learn about this terrifying wonder of nature. One thing to note tho is that giant squid don't actively attack humans.
No no it not super accurate as at the beginning it was said that the first video of a giant squid was off the cost of the usa no their was a video before that of a giant of the japan but other than that I 100% agree with your statement
Do they have barbed sockets? I thought that was only Humboldt squid.
It's not like they have much of a chance.
Also i'm pretty sure giant squid don't have the barbed teeth in the tentacles, I think they are mixed up with the colossal squid. But I could be wrong.

Giant squids likely would not try to eat a human. You wouldn't smell right, and as they said its highly intelligent. It would not want to risk injury to eat something like a human that it doesn't know is food.
Same here
Even is the whole ocean was searched it is very unlikely that creatures will stay in the same spot, so lures are the best way to find new creatures
Interesting point about the electronic Jelly that I’ve read in the past. The Jellyfish it was mimicking may actually NOT just be prey for Giant Squid. The question arises when one considers why the Jellyfish would flash those lights in response to predators. They believe the Jellyfish may actually have more of a symbiotic relationship with the giant squid. And that the squid approaches the Jellyfish to feed on whatever is attacking it, and the Jellyfish’s lights serve to attract bigger predators to dissuade smaller predators from preying on it. Interesting theory, if true.
Don't forget monster quest. They caught a really big giant squid in the Sea of Cortez Mexico
I just looked it up in the estimate that it was 106 feet long and the arms were over 1.5ft in diameter. idk how i never heard about this but that is absolutely terrifying. ty for the info!
I remember watching that episode on tv as a kid and being blown away and wondering why no one else was amazed. Usually monster quest was one of those shows where they just explain a cryptid but never find any evidence but this time they finally did..
What's the name of that episode?
There was a Colossal Squid caught by fishermen in the arctic and it's now in a museum in New Zealand I think. (The Squid was still ALIVE when it was caught) It had arms that not only had the teeth around the suckers, but HOOKS as well of varying sizes. I think some of those hooks were over an inch long.

Humbolt squid make giant squid look harmless. Regularly come to the surface, hunt in packs of over 200, super intelligent and glbal warming is causing them to increase their range and numbers at a staggering rate. If the giant squid was a T Rex, the Humbolt would be a Velociraptor!*
The Jurassic park version anyway. Real Velociraptors weren't anything like as dangerous.
Sounds like squids on the menu
The Kraken is big enough to attack a pirate ship and 3.7 meters ain't nothing compared to that.
So basically I just don’t swim at 2000 ft deep water
Giant squids have been seen since early 2000s much larger squids have been found and caught. The largest one that has been captured I believe is 23ft
