- Let's start a new Collage Book using the color cube card to decide what colors, ephemera and other goodies to use on each collage spread. This is going to be fun, different and inspiration for all of you.

I have both volumes of the Colour Cube cards and they are a constant source of inspiration for me as a mixed media artist. I first saw them in an art haul by another artist I follow here on youtube (Denise Love) and I love them. But I love the idea of you using them to inspire you to create a new collage journal,you may be the first to use these cards for collage (as apposed to painting etc). It's an inspred idea and have no doubt when the joural is complete it will look amazing.The first piece you've created for this new collage project really looks amazing. Look forward to seing more of this new collage journey and Journal. (matt)P.s an idea maybe,perhaps get a colour copy of the colour chips/palette on the front of the chosen colour cube card and somehow incorporate that into the final collage....

So pretty, Barbie! I absolutely love this new idea of Color Cube Collage and am looking forward to what you'll create in the upcoming weeks. I've been a crocheter since I was a kid, but I'm not great with complicated patterns. I mostly crochet simple scarves I can make while watching TV, and then give the scarves away. Last month I finished a rippled blanket for my new great grandbaby and am now making another for my DILs godson. Made lots of mistakes with the first one - one thing I like about crocheting is you can rip out rows without worrying about messing up the rows underneath.
Your project makes all sound wonderful, Penny. The other good thing about ripping out crocheted items is your yarn doesn't get ruined, ripped, or torn. Crocheting can be so relaxing and once you have your stitch down,, it goes fast and it's something you don't have to look at all the time like fussy cutting paper. Hey, gf ........ take note of the cards I'm using and give it a try before you spend the money. I've had mine for 4 months now and decided to use them like this, I thought I'd use them with my paints, but then I realized I don't have a lot of paints. I don't want to go out and buy more paints I may only use a couple times, so paper it is ....... that I have an overabundace of. 😉🌻🧡 I'll keep you posted, my appoints are tomorrow. Thanks, gf. Arrived in Cleveland and omgosh......the rain storm we drove through was just awful today. I-90 West was closed due to an awful car accident but we made it via a big detour. I use old envelopes and book pages to glue on, then they can go out in the recycling afterwards keeps your workspace glue free.

This is beautiful, Barbie. I am going to enjoy watching this. I do like the color blocks. I used to crochet and cross-stitch. I hated when I would make a mistake especially when I didn’t catch it quickly. 😊❤

I really like this free flow style of collaging with the color cube as a springboard. When you first showed your background choice I thought, 'humm is that going to work with the flow', but you made it work beautifully. The color combo is so lovely. I like it Barbie. And I am happy that you've come out with a replacement for the MM, because I tell ya, looking for things that fit the prompts and also flow together nicely and then putting those items into some sort of cohesive collage is quite difficult. Especially for someone who suffers with severe OCD. In fact I think it is the main reason that I struggle/have struggled with collaging altogether. Anyhow, this is a lovely collage and I enjoyed watching as you put it together. Looking forward to more Color Cube collaging.
That's a funny story about the Red Bull having you wanting to craft at 10:00 at night. I can't drink those or anything with caffeine, everything has to be decaf for me.

Thank you, Llin, and I get the OCD. You have got to try color collaging, it's so much easier than collaging with prompts. If I find the background color in this book giving me trouble with the color cube cards, I'll change it with new background papers. I was worried at first, but it did work out well. Don't overthink collaging, maybe you can just start with somthing like I'm doing, with the colors and that may help you. Remember, collaging is supposed to be free and flowing, so anything goes. Yeah, caffeine does me in. I ended up going to bed around 10:30 and then reading until almost mindnight. 😱 morning came early. My bad ........... 🤣🤣 have a wonderful week. Yeah, I originally purchased the color cubes for paint, but I feel more comfortable with paper and I don't have loads of watercolor paints, etc. I hope this helps others with mixng colors and such while collaging. Using a color cube card for collage--genius! How very beautiful it turned out. LOVE that journal. Toward the end of my journal-making days those were the only kind I made. I MAY be persuaded to do one more if I can find one like you used. I may even break down & get the color cubes that I've debated over for more than a year now. Maybe you could fill that journal with all collages based on different color cube cards? YEAH! Hope all goes well in Cleveland. My thoughts & prayers will be there keeping you company.
Penny, I'm so happy you enjoyed what I was putting out today! If you don't want to get the color cubes just yet, write down the colors I showed in the beginning and give it a try. I'll have to go back and list the colors and the color numbers for those who water color paint. I do plan on using this book for all color cube card collaging. It'll be a fun book to put together.
