This is amazing! The only critique I have is the tempo felt like a battle between the drummer holding it back while the guitarist would rush (no pun intended).
Totally agree! I am a guitarist and when playing live you can get caught up in the excitement. Drummers and Bass players are the tempo kings but when playing RUSH everyone needs to be a time keeper! Still a great rendition of RUSH.
hold on for a sec... can we just appreciate the drummer for a second, i mean I've been in situations were the guitarist tries to take control of the tempo and fuck it all up but this is by far the best example of it I've seen on youtube, and one more thing.... this drummer is.....ahhhhh so good, its like he's studied every one of Neil's traits and shit.. he plays this pert perfectly.
Mad respect! The singer really makes this band work...and I'm usually leery of cover bands...if there's any band that deserves a great cover band it's Rush...--their catalog is so vast and rich with substance!! Something so lacking in music today
Exceptional, all round exceptional, covering this so perfectly is incredible musicianship all round. Big Rush fan and this is up on their level of excellence. Hope these musicians receive the respect they deserve, just "stumbled" on this vid while doing my "RnD"... blown away.
Well!!!! Well!!!!! What can I say? That was AMAZING guys!! Xanadu not an easy one to take on but you did it fantastically! Rush fan over 42 yrs. Brilliant! 😲✌️💖X
No tribute group have me chills before. You guys are a 10. And I've been playing rush for years. Even grew up on the kit and had a semi basement group that ate rush day and night. So glad you guys don't stop
AS A RUSH FAN FOR 50 YRS. THIS WAS FREAKIN OUTSTANDING!!! YOU DID THE BOYS FROM CANADA PROUD!!! I DO ARGEE WITH (JKees) THE TEMPO SEEMED OFF A COUPLE TIMES. BUT HEY,...IT'S VERY COMPLICATED SONG WITH I BELIEVE THREE DIFFERENT TIME SIGNATURES!!! SO I WOULDN'T SWEAT IT!!! LOL
You guys rock! Saw you perform this at blue ocean and Tupelo. Never thought I would hear this music live again. What a gift. You guys should tour nationally, continuously. There’s a need to keep this live music alive.
This is an amazing cover rendtion of Xanadu. The whole band is really good. The bassist vocalist sounds just like Geddy in the late 70s. I loved RUSH in the mid to late 1970s, when they were truly at their prime.
Well done, men! I'm looking for reasons to not audition for the role of Geddy in a tribute band, as I don't want to spoil the music by not reproducing it well. You have given me hope, and courage... perhaps it CAN be done. Thank you!
Best cover/tribute band. Period. The opening 3 min guitar section is the most precise I've ever seen. Drummer's hand technique and traits are frikkin similar to Neil's and bassist's resemblance to Geddy is just too obvious.
Most Rush tribute bands are usually missing one or more really essential components to replicating the original. I'm super-impressed with these guys though. On point all the way through. Great work!

I appreciate the drummer's frustration and effort in getting those two cymbal stands to fit into the kit at any cost. Having been there many times, there's nothing worse than being little space to work with.
This was the first time I saw these guys. Went there to see Pat Benetar and Neal Geraldo, came out to this. Turned into a much longer night than I expected.
You guys are excellent. If you close your eyes, it is like you are at a Live Rush Concert. Do you post anywhere your Live Gigs? I would love to come see you.
I'm not a tribute band fan as a rule, but these guys are excellent. Saw them in Niagara Falls NY some months back. I'd love to see them again. They do all the tunes justice in my opinion;, even the tricky ones like this.
Yeah, tribute bands are a tricky thing. I've seen very good ones (Toys In The Attic Aerosmith are great) and I've seen awful ones (won't mention any names to be nice)
Agree and the drummer lacks feel. At times he was rushing and way ahead of the beat. I think that may be something nuanced musicians - drummers in particular pick up on. Some of the fills were spot on, but only a few.
@@TheKiddos77 i am the manager of a musician who has been playing drums for 34 years and said the same thing. if you would like a link to his music, I would be more than happy to provide. je vous donne merci Mukeba Wa Ntumba manager of Kilebu
JKees, As a Geddy Bass Player/Vocalist of 39 years now. I agree, the drummer was a little ahead of the band. But other than that they’re the best RUSH tribute band Lance Racine and he is the closest next to me they can sound like Getty Lee as well as play bass unfortunately don’t play keyboard but I have played Taurus petals LOL great band either way
Outstanding, never heard someone get that close to Ged's voice!
This is the closest to Geddy ruclips.net/video/6RcULxjm-nQ/видео.html&ab_channel=RushTributeBand2112
i agree
Met him at one of their gigs even when he talks he sounds EXACTLY like geddy

Agreed. He was behind a lot, but the guitar takeoff.
yeah guitarist had it running away.. when alex plays you can see him draw back the tempo slightly to stop it running off...
Respect to the drummer! The guitar player needs to be disciplined.
I’ve noticed the same thing but not just this video but others that I’ve seen. The drummer should always be the time keeper!

of allllllllll the Rush cover bands out there, you guys are easily the BEST, nailed it, please keep touring !!
