Life is so fragile yet seeing it come forth is so rewarding and renews one's spirit. Why farm life is so remarkably special. Y'all do such a great job showing that side of farming. God bless you one and all...
I love this idea of raising up and releasing quail chicks. Where I live, SE Michigan, Quail and especially pheasant used to be very prolific. But urban sprawl, loss of habitat, predation, and hunting have decimated their numbers to the point that sightings are now rare. I would love to release 100 or more ringneck pheasant in hopes of establishing a healthy population of them again. Best of luck with this endeavor. Please keep us updated on their progress and survival.
You should make some brush piles for the quail to live in. Along old fencerows is perfect. If you leave a strip of grass and weeds nearby that will help too.
Quail unlimited used to have a program they would Supply the eggs for you to hatch to turn loose into the habitat might be worth something to check into
@@ToddFamilyFarm you're welcome also other birds programs use to have to bring back habitat for whatever kind of species it was the gravy spoiled is the national Wild Turkey Federation they did more for bringing back the wild turkey did anything else ever did
Do you do with the quail like you should do with baby chickens by sticking their beaks in water so they will know that they have something to drink and where it is, great video again Abby boosting the wildlife have fun take care and be safe
We thought we would have to, but actually they took right to it! We used a coffee can lid with marbles in it for the first week. The marbles keep them from drowning themselves.
Hope this quail adventure works tremendously. Are you going to get meat chickens this year? With your big family lots of chicken in the freezer would be great. Love the old Singer sewing machine.
Am I wrong to assume they are coturnix quail. You said you wanted them because you didnt have any quail around there, which kind of sounded like you could be hatching game birds for release.
Seeing Izella smiling happily makes me happy too, you are a gorgeous girl 🤍🤍🤍
Great video Abby and I enjoyed seeing Izela watching over the baby quail 👍
Very cool raising quail. I’ll have to try the hisea boots!!
Awesome job on the quails! Enjoyed the stories about the quail eggs! Really cool seeing them hatch out! 👏👏👏 🙏❤️🇺🇸

That's what we've been doing. We took out a bunch of weed trees and planted a bunch of shrubs and grass for the quail.
Very interesting video thanks for sharing and keeping it real

Incubating quail that’s awesome and yes they are feisty
The pheasant hunting in your area 15 years ago was wonderful
30 years ago was even better, but it is getting better now than it was 5 years ago, so its coming back a little bit
Great video

Did you check the fish and game laws??
yes, we bought the eggs from licensed breeder and as long as we don't sell them for profit we're fine
