Looks AWESOME! I love that exhaust being up high. I feel like Yamaha should have done that originally- the stock design is begging to be dented or broken if you drop it just once.
I like it. Some people can make T7 look lika a horror and completely tasteless, but your looks good and it's functional. I also like the original exhaust design look, but already wrecked my scorpion exhaust and bent the hanger, so trying to find a high mount exhaust that will fit with T7 Rally tail tidy.
Cheers mate. I had to cut a bit out of my tail tidy for it to fit, the exhaust bracket uses the same mounting holes. Unless you get the Camel exhaust you may need to do the same with your tail tidy
Mate, you’ve done a great job there. Like everyone else, I love that exhaust. It looks awesome. The whole look of your bike makes it look like a big WR. I think now after seeing what you’ve done, I’m going to sell my WR450 and get a T7. I still want to single trails here in SA & looking at your bike, I reckon yours would easily do that
Nice job and result. What I think you're still missing is a chain guide, especially when you plan to use the T7 offroadin as you seem to. Necessary imho. Happy trails man!
Matt, I think your bike looks superb. My only negative is actually the exhaust. Where it’s routed now is exactly what Yamaha should have done. The rear view of the bike is super skinny and not the afterthought that all but Ducati seem to go for. What is odd, though, is that the pipe is not in line with the silencer. It’s not by much but draws my eye. I’m guessing a compromise but a shame that something so neat isn’t perfect. I’ve noticed it on other bikes so it’s actually by design. I’m guessing it’s well tested by now?
I just lowered my T7 World raid with lowering links, I'm so pleased that I did it, it's really boosted my confidence at low speeds and at standstill, the handling and riding position is the same and the bike feels much lighter and more manageable. I lowered it 40mm on the links and 18mm on the forks, I left the pre load the same but will have the option now to wind it up a bit if I load it up with panniers. The bike now feels great. I'm 6.1" so not short but it's made a huge difference.
Hey mate, that's a good idea that I didn't think about. I've updated the description above to include the names of manufacturers of all mods and links to access them. Hope this helps
Nice looking rig mate - well setup but... we need to have a talk about those shoes at the front of the garage at about 6:30. What's going on there? Gold Coast specials?
...excelente montaje, protección inferior y el escape van genial, equipaste muy bien la Tenere, cuando joven tuve mi XT 500, Yamaha ha sabido mantener este caballo en las cilindradas adecuadas. Saludos desde Chile.
Wonderful bike! Congratulations! I love it! Great job! Much better than the original! Yamaha itself didn't do a good job, or it could do something a little bit more, but probably the goal was keeping a quite low price and if you want to have some more, you have to pay, no other chance. Thank you very much to share. Enjoy your fantastic bike! 💖
Hi buddy, just watched your video, very nice. One thing you're definitely going to need if using off road is a dashboard support! They shake really bad and eventually break. Chris T7 owner 👍🏼
I just installed one from Camel Adv and it fit great. Certainly stiffens up the headlight and dash. Not sure if you can get it down there but worth a look. Your Bike is inspiring! Nice job
Hey mate, below is a link to the company I bought it from torimoto.com.au/collections/perun-moto-racks-and-hard-parts/products/perun-moto-yamaha-tenere-700-top-luggage-rack
I do love that bash plate! I bought an AltRider basher but did not realize the 2022 had a new head pipe so it didn't fit. I will look seriously at the SRC.
Ive got the B&B compact rear rack and it interferes a bit with the kriega OS base (basically you need to get a super long bokt to put the mounting pegs or, as i am doing, undo the stitching in the webbing so you can feed it back through the cam to get them on/off. I've also got the B&B tail tiny which i love but annoying to realise that the high routed exhausts may not be compatible without mods. I wonder how the Camel one goes.
Nice video! Already purchased the kriega os bags? I was wondering if there is no problem in combining the hp corse high mount with these bags, considering the heat coming from the exhaust. Thanks in advance!
Scratch that last message, just found out how to do it...WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Wow, so stoked you sent that message mate, it now has the sound I was expecting when I bought it
@@mattfasso3220 It's held by one spotweld under the the tailpipe, you can carefully drill it out with TI coated drill bits, start with 4mm and work up to 6mm and it should break free, you can then refit the baffle with a 6mm bolt if needed, its not too loud without it.
@@mattfasso3220 Yeah that's what I thought when I did mine, get someone to do a ride past on your bike or ride a short bit offroad without a crash helmet to hear it under load, I've got decat headers on as well.
Hi Matt Fasso, great video! I own a 2023 T7 and I consider buying the hp corse high exhaust together with the kriega bags as well. However, the bags seems to be quite close to the exhaust which made me curious if that doesn't cause any problems with heat coming from the exhaust. Hope you've got some experience on this topic to help me out! Thanks in advance!
Have you had any issues with your chain coming off while riding off road? I’ve heard other riders saying they put a chain guide in place to remedy the problem. The holes are actually pre drilled for the application.
Bike is looking good mate, I have the same exhaust and just drilled out the back also. Haven’t had a chance to ride it as my suspension is off being modified busy sounds good just at home. Need to get a bit welded onto the db killer now. I have a similar build to yours but with donner tech rear grab handles and rack. $$$ but so nice. Although the rear rack is pretty small so need to find a nice neat adaptor plate kinda like yours.
Bloody nice build mate, my only concern would still be the R/H indicator, I had something similar on my XR600 with what I thought was enough clearance for heat but still ended up melting it. Could you mount them under the rear rack? 👍👍👍👍👍
Hey mate, I got the Kriega bags a couple of days ago and looks like they'll clear the pipe no worries, probably about 1 - 2 inches of clearance. I'll need to make sure that the top strap is pulled tight to hold the bag high, otherwise it would drop lower and risk touching the pipe. My only concern is heat resonating from the pipe, time will tell if this is an issue...
Hey mate, with the DB killer in it's only marginally louder than stock. I've removed it and much happier with the sound, I wouldn't say it's overly loud without it though
Thanks mate, beautiful bike. I have the 21 blue however prefer the 22 blue but not the price hike. Can you please give some details re your suspension setup spring weight and/ or valving changes. Cheers!
Hey mate, I know that you can raise the preload and there are foot peg options to lower the peg height. The rally seat is 40mm taller as well which will help
Nice build, I'm looking for that bash plate. I can't find that one on their website....bo you happen to know the part number of the one you have.... thanks

Bro, absolutely beautiful! Nice work!!!
Sorry, nothing to add. Its one of the most beautifull i've seen!
Beautiful work! Eventually I'll set mine up for more of a off road bias like this.
If you don’t like scratched I suggest you buy side panel grip pads for your knees and bottom frame protection for your boots rubbing

Great info on the crash bars, thanks man
Great looking bike. I plan on doing the same exhaust and thanks for the idea for the tail tidy. Cheer’s, rubber side down!
