- Halation is the film artefact where light leaks into the red layer to create a subtle red glow and in this tutorial we will look at two methods for recreating that in Apple Motion. Lots of fancy compositing stuff for you to get your teeth into!
With special thanks to Robbert-Jan van der Does.

Great effect! I can see possibilities.
Amazing, Simon!
Thank you so much!
Loved it! Thanks, Simon!
Very nice. Thanks.
I love this, thanks Simon!
great subject!
Another fantastic tutorial. Your explanations of the "how" and "why" of it all are greatly appreciated! Thank you!
Thank you!
Thanks for this, Simon.
Thanks Simon. Thanks for holding our hand and taking us past the sandy bit of the shore once again.
Mm Mm Mm... SKILL in action, that's what I see.... which in itself is very pleasing to have the privilege to witness. And the tutorial material itself is great. I have watched your Hawaiki Keyer tutorials (I hope to buy it), compositing in resolve and keying videos (which are all excellent!) and this is akin to those... and it helps me as they all interrelate.
Simon, thank you very much for making our lives easier, you have saved my FX life severasl times and this effect is awsome.
Thank you!
cool effect!
The video peaks suddenly at ~5 min mark.....❤❤❤
And that's a bad thing?
@@SimonUbsdell peaked with creative avenues like you yourself mentioned in the end.
Thank you.
Ah, whew! You had me worried.
mr, simon i have been watching ur videos lately i love apple motion but its down side for me has to be the keyframes and the key frame editor i have used after effect thats where i came but in apple motion i cant even use speed graph, please if you can suggest any thing so i could work around with????
Interesting. I find the keyframe editor in After Effects ridiculously over-elaborate. They have introduced concepts that are no help at all - and you have to use crazy, clunky workarounds as a result. The Motion keyframe editor makes complete sense and is completely in line with true professional solutions.
@@SimonUbsdelli see maybe im still new to it
