I'm curious, are you using adb to make the 4K transition? I ask because I have no issues with my settings. And once I installed another google dialer from xda developers, man I've been loving it. Good battery life. Only gets hot when I'm charging it and streaming a movie online at the same time. Not any downloaded content. Plays PS4 great , I mean great! I mean no disrespect or am not being smart to you. I just wish everyone had their xz premium set up like mines.
Did you notice that the pixel density should be 807 ppi but it is still 403 ppi which means you still see the same thing!!! There is no change with what you see. Don't mix dpi with ppi. Could anyone find a way to fix that? I did the same thing with my Z5 Premium and my ppi changed from 401 to 806 and what I see dramatically changed (super detailed videos) but on my XZ Premium the ppi did not change and I see the same thing.
The only issue I have with 4k on this phone is that some high definition games will hard crash your phone (can't turn phone off need to hold off and volume up buttons to restart the phone). The phone is also always warm on 4k, though never gets any hotter than it does on 1080p. I use QHD instead and it has none of these issues.
this resolution is great for me as well in terms of every thing , its better than 4k (in terms of performance) and better than 2k and it almost never stutters as much as 4k great battery life, doesnt heat as much, dialer works, phone looks crystal clear, I was wondering how would it perform against other phones in terms of speed as it killed almost every other phone in almost every app on 1080p, will it still be as good? can you do a video about it?
How on earth you are getting 7h of SOT after 1 and a hald day of full charge? Could you tell me your sync, app settings, communication settigs and all. As I recently got my XZ Premium and I hardly get 2h of SOT in 20 hours of full charge. I have dual SIM version and my wifi, data, location and Bluetooth is always ON and I am on out of box 1080p display settings. Didn't try always ON 4K yet.
I get only 5-6 hrs of onscreen time and my battery percentage drops from 80 to 65% when sleeping even with the stamina mode on. I get only 3 hrs onscreen time if i try to use it for 2 days without using my phone frequently. How come your phone is showing 11 hrs remaining at 15% when mine is showing 3 hrs remaining?
Wait, 80 to 65% when sleeping? you mean overnight? mine drains 1% at the most that too without Stamina mode. I think you have some rogue app draining all your battery, I can easily extend my phone for 6 hours when the battery is around 15% without stamina mode or drain it in 20 minutes of 4K video recording, so I'd say that time remaining isn't accurate, it's based on your overall power consumption. Apart from apps your battery life also depends on other factors like signal strength, wifi signal strength, overall screen brightness, sync settings.
Nice video! It's cool how your XZp looks almost black here; I have yet to see mine look like that in any lighting. By the way, which file manager are you using? I tried several but can't find anything simple/lightweight without any extra features but still includes DLNA/SMB support :( It either has no features whatsoever or includes useless things like a memory cleaner etc.
I use Asus file manager works great for me, it also has PC wireless file transfer. For DLNA, VLC player does the job. You can also try Solid Explorer as suggested by Dongkyu Lee, it is also pretty good. Its very difficult to film this phone because of reflective surface :( my camera loses focus most of the time and the text becomes blurry on camera, so I was just shining bright light from the sides and turned off the main light in the room :D that's why it looks black, and the focus on my camera also was great. play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asus.filemanager&hl=en

Is there anyway to make the phones sound quality better? I bounght some M6 in ear monitors and they are terrible on the xz premium.
Check all the settings in the music app or sound settings
