Beterbiev was clearly hitting more punches right through Bivol's Gloves that were not clearly visible on TV to most people. But the per Andre Yard and Teddy Atlas, Beterbiev won because of the relentless last 3 rounds of pure beating that Bivol had no answer for. Running around doesn't favour the boxer. Bivol nevertheless showed remarkable tactical skills and true sportsmanship. Great fight!

You've never fought in a ring. A person can't block more than 1-2 punches when a combo comes in. The other punches in the combo will always connect with your face or body. Even if they hit your guard, they're still making contact with your body or face. While these may not be clean, perfectly landed punches, they still count as hits or scores. If you’re talking about clean shots, they only really matter if they cause a knockdown. You're suggesting that one clean punch is better than 5-6 partially landed punches, but that doesn’t make sense. No such rule exists. It’s always about how often you connect with your punches. It doesn’t matter if the punch looks impressive and goes viral on TikTok.
I am with Teddy on this, look at their faces, Beterbiev looked untouched and was beating up Bivol like never before in the championship round plus Beterbiev edged the middle round. Bivol has never been this ineffective. Beterbiev was the boss. Who would you rather be at the end of the fight? Bivol was fighting in moments and had the cleaner shots but these were few and far in between, Beterbiev did more overall and deserved to win. The fact that Beterbiev out threw Bivol is an indication of Bivol’s reluctance to engage at times due to the power of Beterbiev and the fear of the counter. Bivol landed cleanly because Beterbiev was fighting more open but Bivol fought in counter punching mode and in moments but overall good fight never the less.
I thought I had lost the $100 that I put on Beterbiev, you can imagine how happy I was when they gave the fight to Beterbiev. I hope they fight again it was a terrific fight very close indeed.

Bivol fought great, fantastic tactically and technically, but he was in trouble a few times and Beterbiev only looked semi-rattled early in the fight and - from memory - just over mid-fight, when Bivol hit some pretty strong combinations. Points can't be just clean hit counting, some hits are more meaningful than others. Beterbiev won - perhaps - 3 rounds by 2 points.
I respect ✊ Teddy’s analysis and analogies a lot, amazing insights and was a close fight but beterbiev was the stalker and was chasing Bivol especially towards the end

You've never fought in a ring. A person can't block more than 1-2 punches when a combo comes in. The other punches in the combo will always connect with your face or body. Even if they hit your guard, they're still making contact with your body or face. While these may not be clean, perfectly landed punches, they still count as hits or scores.
If you’re talking about clean shots, they only really matter if they cause a knockdown. You're suggesting that one clean punch is better than 5-6 partially landed punches, but that doesn’t make sense. No such rule exists. It’s always about how often you connect with your punches. It doesn’t matter if the punch looks impressive and goes viral on TikTok.

I am with Teddy on this, look at their faces, Beterbiev looked untouched and was beating up Bivol like never before in the championship round plus Beterbiev edged the middle round. Bivol has never been this ineffective. Beterbiev was the boss. Who would you rather be at the end of the fight? Bivol looked in a world of pain while Beterbiev looked like he just finished some light sparring!

Beterbiev won that fight. Front foot pressure, aggressive throughout the fight and inflicted more damage overall. Bivol was fighting in moments and had the cleaner shots but these were few and far in between, Beterbiev did more overall and deserved to win. The fact that Beterbiev out threw Bivol is an indication of Bivol’s reluctance to engage at times due to the power of Beterbiev and the fear of the counter. Bivol landed cleanly because Beterbiev was fighting more open but Bivol fought in counter punching mode and in moments but overall good fight never the less.

I had Beterbiev by 2 rounds as well. I really get annoyed when people like Eddie say it was robbery. It was a close fight a robbery would be if Bivol was Dominating the fight then they gave it to Beterbiev. Either way they should run it back!

Man, that Bivol can certainly run, apart from the few seconds of exchanges Bivol spent most of the rounds running, once Bivol felt Artur's power that was it, that was a different Bivol compared to the one that fought Canelo, for me the the better man, the aggressor won correctly. Feel sorry for Artur, he did not get his knockout, I think, that was a huge disappoint for him, but hey he tried just could not catch Bivol on his bike.😜

I had Bivol up 5-4 at the end of the ninth then Beterbiev won the remaining three rounds convincingly,7-5 Beterbiev .
Dunno if Bivol came in too heavy or got some sort of injury cos his performance didnt add up. Why did he sit back mid fight and give beterbiev the points??
Bivol fought great, fantastic tactically and technically, but he was in trouble a few times and Beterbiev only looked semi-rattled early in the fight and - from memory - just over mid-fight, when Bivol hit some pretty strong combinations.
Points can't be just clean hit counting, some hits are more meaningful than others. Beterbiev won - perhaps - 3 rounds by 2 points.
I respect ✊ Teddy’s analysis and analogies a lot, amazing insights and was a close fight but beterbiev was the stalker and was chasing Bivol especially towards the end
