- Another one hour vid i've been working of a PS2 classic. I'm thinking of making a series out of this, comment what game I should do next.

This game really was ahead of its time. A true cinematic experience.

JackM1506 Still looks good, today graphics looks so much better, But this is enough, And all Current games could be done on a PS2, better graphics are for storytelling but they could just Put FMVs.

+Hakim Shepherd Agreed. Sadly the studio that made this went under which is a common trend among the creators of these older PS2 games. The worse part was a sequel was in the works called Gun 2: Magruder's Ghost.

This game was absolutely amazing. The storytelling, the lore, the visuals, cinematography, the depth in the characters. Absolutely amazing. Truly a gold standard game.

Made it all the more painful when she got her throat slit.
Not going to lie...But, I never liked her that much. When she got her throat slit, though, I got pissed. Reed and Magruder had to pay for it. I also disliked how Hoodoo objectified her at the start..

I'm trying to hold back a tear. This game really was a cinematic masterpiece.
When I beat this game on the highest difficulty, it was incredible! I remember turning up the volume real loud in my room at the last cutscene! I was thinking my parents would've yelled at me to turn down the TV, I didn't give a crap! It felt like I was on top of the world! It's great to be a gamer, so many people don't understand the feelings we gamers get. We get in that zone and nothing else matters.
The voice acting in this game is just amazing for a ps2 game.
Too bad this is an underrated game. I would've love a reboot and a sequel.

as a native american, this is the best game and story ever told by Gamecube.

Both this game and Tony Hawk's Underground show that Neversoft was fully capable of telling a good story in their games.

And hes voiced by Lance Henriksen too! Hes played by Bishop from ALIENS! Hes just a monster killing anyone who gets in the way of his goals. The war he was in took a toll on his mental health. It changed him as I think the story said he was actually a reasonable guy before the war changed him badly.
Rockstar shuld buy the rights to this and make a Gun 2
I have a feeling if rockstar buys the rights to make a gun 2 they would make the game overpriced

I think they should too, even though it'll likely never happen. RDR1 came out five years after Gun, and it clearly took a lot from the game. I imagine some of the folks at R* were fans back in the day, so remote as it might be, I'd love to see it happen. They'd have to get Thomas Jane on board though. I mean, they don't have to but I'd hope they'd at least try. 😅

@Jimmy S im saying john authur and colten were better characters and were in better games with better stories...i agree rdr 1 is way better than 2 ...and gun will be forever slept on... but...unfortunatly for both of us the game that will age the best is rdr2 because of its popularity.... rdr1 was played more than revolver....rdr2 was played more than rd1...and all were played more than gun...and honestly you say i have bad arguments but i bet a majority of players of these games would agree w me...stop beong to mad and salty because someone has a different ...and popular opinion

This brings back so many good memories, this game was a major reason for me buying the original red dead redemption, i actually dug this old game up while i was waiting for rdr2. I remember being bad at the game when i first played it as a kid and couldnt get close to the end, took me long enough to try it again but i beat it and its gotta be one of my favorite ps2 games of all time
Even to this day, I absolutely love this game. Is it perfect? No. But the overall cinematic experience from the story telling, voice acting and epic film quality score will always make this one of my all time absolute favorite video game experiences. How amazing would it be to make this into a big budget film?

This game had a pretty good cast with Dourif, Thomas Jane, Kris Kristofforsen.

One of the first video games i ever played. My parents won a PS2 in a card game and bought "Gun" as the first game for us. I remember i was like 6 or 7 and couldnt believe my parents would let me play this but i was also so so in love with the game. And my parents explained at the time to me its just a video game and nothing to be taken seriously and that its just to have a good time. And hell yeah i had a great time. I love this game so much
This and Red Dead Revolvers were masterpieces for their era

Rarely you get good stories as this one in new games . I will always remember Gun, Max Payne franchise and LA Noire for the great story games provided!

My childhood, if Red Dead has shown us anything it’s that the West can be a great video game genre. The slower down pace of the west offers the opportunity for some great storytelling
Graphics were head of it's time for this one.

Great game. One of the best video games I've ever played in my life. Good story. Non-stop action from start to finish. Good voice cast. It wasn't a video game, it would had been a great movie.

The one thing they never addressed in this is how Ned managed to survive after supposedly being shot by Magruder in Clay's story. And how would Cole know what the black foot chief is saying if he's Apache? They're two different tribes.... the logic of the writers doesnt make sense
He could've just been grazed by the bullet. The same kind of thing happened in the first two Max Payne games, characters get shot point blank in the head but survive.
Mike H What I wanna know is how Colton looks/sounds like he’s in his late 20s, even though he is supposed to be the baby in the cutscene where the Confederates visit Doctor Campbell. Clay Allison says it was “late ‘64” when Magruder convinced the brass to let them search for Quivera, which means Cole must have been born around mid 1864-early 1865. If that’s the case, and the game is set in 1880, then Colton should only be 16 years old. Plot hole much??

What a masterpiece loved this game when I was like 7 I’m now 16 remembering the good days
this game was around a year before i was born but, my grandfather and, i watched westerns all the time and, i use to play cowboy and, Indians by myself acting like i was the main charter of one of the westerns. This is why i'm such a big fan of games like this or, westerns their old but they are magnificent.

So the game is set in Montana 1880, but at 28:25, Clay states that when Magruder killed the doctor and his Indian chums it was late 1864, and that's when Ned was handed baby Colt.
So, that makes Colton White 16 at the time of this game; deep gravelly voice, stubble and all. Always bothered me how they managed to screw up basic math.
Not only that, but Clay says "I served with ned he was killed 10 years ago" probably during that same scene when he was shot and took Cole. But if THAT part was true wouldn't Cole be 10? 😂 seems at least 20 to me

Not to mention he couldn't be a kid during the mauling maybe he is in his mid to late 20s.. after all most of the characters was pretty older than him in the game which is why they call him "kid"
