Hi, thankyou for reacting to Dimash. I am an Italian Dear (name that Dimash gave to his fan) welcome to Dimash World. I guess you will no longer be able to leave it as we do. His voice is a drug you will become addicted to. It is a wonderful disease, we Dears do not want to heal. If you keep reacting to Dimash you will find that he sings POP, JAZZ, OPERA, RAP, R&B and more. He is born in Kazakhstan in 1994, he has 6 octaves and a bunch of semitones. He sings from Baritone to Soprano and whistle register. He has a degree in all the aforementioned genres and the last degree he received is in composition. He has been attending the stage since he was 5 and at 6 he won first prize playing the piano. He plays 7 instruments, including piano, guitar, drums, dombra, xylophone and more. He sang in 12 languages but speaks 3. Thanks to his perfectionist character, when he sings in languages he does not know, he learns the meaning sentence by sentence in order to give the right intensity and always manages to move the audience even up to cry. He always sings live and every time he sings the same song it is never the same but always a masterpiece. For those who like information about Dimas' songs: The story behind this song is very interesting: The band that accompanies Dimash is the same one that composed the song, without the singer who died after a heart attack! The band is also from Kazakhstan and this performance by Dimash revitalized the song. In addition, the final part he added, with an oriental technique. Dimash is a phenomenon from Kazakhstan. He started singing lessons at 5 years old and was found to have perfect pitch. He is University educated with degrees in classical and opera, another in contemporary music, pop and jazz, was a major in Vogel technique. He also completed a Broadway musical master class. On June 18th, 2020 he completed his masters specializing in composition and received his masters with honours having achieved the maximum score of 100%. He has since started his PhD.
He currently has a vocal range of over 6 octaves but he is humbly dismissive of this astounding fact and stresses that it is not the amount of both arrange you have but in fact what you do with it. He has won many prestigious awards and is a decorated national treasure in his native Kazakhstan.
He has performed songs in 12 different languages. He speaks fluent Russian and Kazakh, some Chinese and is pretty good in English and Is still studying it along with Mandarin which he says is a difficult language to learn but he's doing well with it.
At 22 he was invited as a wild card to participate in a Chinese singing show for professional singers. The show catapulted him to relative stardom worldwide and he became a pop superstar in China.
He is also famous in Russia for his neoclassical work with famous Russian/Ukrainian composer and arranger Igor Krutoy who came out of retirement to collaborate with Dimash. He has written songs for Dimash and arranged previously composed music specifically for Dimash. He is often at the piano for many of Dimash's performances. Dimash has since introduced pop songs in Russia as well.
His vocals range from a rich low baritone to extremely high soprano notes. On at least one occasion he has Hit a D8 in whistle tone for 5 seconds with vibrato.
He was on a solo world tour when the pandemic struck. His concerts are usually about 3 hours with an eclectic mix of vocal styles and genres.
He was born into a musical family and both of his parents are famous singers and musicians in Kazakhstan, his mother being an operatic soprano. He was offered a position in the Astana Opera in Kazakhstan but turn this position down to pursue his own path in neoclassical and contemporary music.
He's a multi-instrumentalist, competent on 8 instruments including piano, drums and the native Turk/Kazakhstan two-stringed instrument called a dombra.
As of May 24th, 2021 he will celebrate his 27th birthday. He is most widely known through his live performances that has released several albums the first one going platinum in 37 seconds and triple platinum in less than an hour.
It has been recognized that his high notes are not whistle tones but head voice. Dimash rarely uses his whistle register but when he does it is spectacular. He has many millions of fans worldwide which he has designated his "Dears"
He is soft spoken, polite, respectful, elegant and classy, also extremely humble and seldom goes without mentioning his love of country and its history.

Dimash is a storyteller who uses his entire arsenal (technique, vocal range, body expression, style...) as a resource to involve the audience in the story he presents. When we pay attention to the lyrics, the story behind it, the feeling that it can wake up, then we understand that everything he does is not for personal exaltation, but to captivate and elevate what he is singing! When Dimash sings, it becomes the music itself!
Thanks for the great reaction to THE greatest vocalist of ALL time! I don’t think Dimash will be corrupted, he was in an American TV Talent show called The World’s Best. He dropped out in the semi finals (the prize was 1 million US dollars) because the producers lied to him and told him he wouldn’t have to compete with children. Of course the final was going to be Dimash competing against 2 children. He said he would not continue and he was berated very badly by the show for dropping out. I expect they saw all the money they thought they were going to make from Dimash, going down the drain! Dimash has very high morals and he is extremely humble….

The band A-Studio is originally from Kazakhstan. The keyboard player, Baigali Serkebaev composed the song together with the poet Ilia Reznik, and the song was first performed in 1998. The singer of the group A-Studio passed away in 2015, and in this concert, the group was backing up guest vocalists. The triangle man is multi-percussionist Ilya Pokrovsky, a very talented man and a close friend of Dimash and member of the Dimash team (DQ Team). He plays various percussion instruments and accompanies Dimash in all his concerts.
Someone explained that the special tribal riff is something practiced in Kazakhstan, Mongolia, and other parts of Asia. A similar technique is also used in some parts of the Middle East. It is referred to by some as a "glottal stop". We use it too when we say "uh oh". A Kazakh RUclipsr commented that Dimash used a Kazakh singing technique, called 'komeymen aytu'. You can hear it among the Turan Group. Saha people Rus) uses this technique too; they called it 'kylyhah'. I read somewhere that the tribal vocalization was a tribute to the deceased singer, as it is similar to a technique usually used by women in Kazakh funeral ceremonies.
This concert was organized by the man in the white shirt who stood up in the first row, Billionaire Igor Krutoy, a famous Ukrainian and Russian music composer, performer, producer, and musical promoter. It was this performance that prompted him to come out of retirement and compose masterpieces for Dimash to sing, such as I miss you, Ogni Pietra, Your Love, just to name a few. Watching Dimash is like watching a movie or a theatrical performance.. He is incredibly innovative and courageous as an artist! It's really life-affirming. Dimash is his own man although he also surrounds himself with the best, musicians, choreographers, composers, he is also from a very close warm family so I'm sure he won't get corrupted by the music industry. I don't think I've ever seen a person with such integrity and love-filled as Dimash is.. His fans are called by him Dears, isn't that just adorable? And he really loves us! It's like a fairy tale! Very rarely will you witness Dimash actually doing vocal gymnastics and, on the rare occasion that he does, there is almost a nod(not quite a wink) to his audience indicating that we know it..., he knows it...and "isn't this fun?":) The rest of the time he is merely using all the crayons in the box and they are, indeed, his to use.
Dimash is foremost a storyteller putting his heart, soul and body into every song and he uses every technique (of his crazy wide repertoire) that suits him to bring the message across. Its always surprising, because you never know where he will go with a song or even the next line of a song. Being his fan - he calls us "Dears" btw - is not only a journey to explore an absolutely exceptional talent, its a learning experience about music techniques and styles, instruments, languages, his culture (which he shares which great pride). People love this young man not "only" for his talent but for who he is as a person - dedicated to his craft, family and culture, kind and respectful to everyone.

That part of the song you're referring to as "haunting and spiritual" is called "bleating " and it is exactly what you felt. It's a funeral or mourning chant typical for the part of the world Dimash is from. He inserted that part ( unbeknownst to the band) to honor the original singer of this song who died. Oh I’m so excited to see you specifically react to all his performances! Just wonderful. Please believe me- you can watch 20 more performances & be newly moved each time. He is more than an artist or singer, I believe he’s actually an energy worker among other things. Most people start with SOS from the Singer competition (some fans prefer it, others will prefer Slavic Bazaar version- they are both worth watching. Dimash I do not believe there has EVER been anyone like him & each performance is a master class). I am subscribing & so hope u race down the Dimash rabbit hole! Most vocal coach reactors have inexplicably become unable to FEEL the music, & seem to be stuck in their heads only appreciating the nuts & bolts of what his voice does. I have never in my life had an artist that consistently altered my nervous system immediately and profoundly every time I listen to them perform. Also this isn’t even his full range. Buckle up. This is no longer just about octaves, whistle registers (as you'll hear) or even more than a simple, huge, vocal technique, Dimash has a universal voice. Yes. He cannot confine himself to just one Genre because he needs to express his artistry across ALL dimensions in his ongoing search for perfection and perfect beauty in the connection between sound and soul. That's why he 'connects' with so many so deeply.
It's not just about producing a particularly beautiful sound or wholly inhabiting and delivering the story line of any particular song. Dimash 'lives' in the nuances, spaces and silences between, as well as within each note, and every instant is meticulously crafted.

Jacqueline, I ADORE you! You are DEFINITELY someone professional because you hit all the key things besides the singing. The posture, the way he positions his body to control whatever key he's going to sing at that moment, the way he wears the emotions on his face and hypnotizes the audience because of it. The other thing that always impresses me is the background and the lighting. It moves with him, enhances whatever posture he has at the same moment and lights him up at the right movement. I cannot wait to see your other reactions to him. The musical God is a Greek work of art, not just because he's absolutely gorgeous to look at and heavenly to listen to, but HIM. He's an incredibly humble and loving person to his "dears" which is what he like for his fans to call themselves.
