I hope Sting remains a part of this wrestling company. If not a performer, then in another capacity. The man is the epitome of the craft and young wrestling guys should study his whole career run because they can learn a lot from him.
I like Stings honestly about Warrior. exactly what it was with Jim. that's why he died so young. same with Savage. you can't be hulking like a monster in your 50s and think your going to be around in your 70s and 80s. at least with Hogan, he cycled down on the roids, which is perhaps the only reason he's made it into his 70s and is alive. if not he would have easily died sooner than Savage and Warrior.
Warrior had a family history of the men in his family dying of heart disease in their 50's. He even told Sting back when they were in the business together, that he was afraid that he would die of a heart attack. Did the roids contribute to it? I would say definitely. He wasn't going to make it to his 60's. It also seemed Warrior wasn't willing to listen to Sting during their time in the UWF, hence Gilbert and Watts was able to get in between them.
The above about Warriors family is correct, his father and grandfather died around the same age of the same congenital heart defect. But I'm curious as to why you think Warrior was "hulking around like a monster" when he was in his 50s? He certainly wasn't. He'd slimmed down and was said to weigh at most 230 and probably around 220, certainly he wasn't juicing..... though of course there's plenty of misinformation about testosterone use and the heart (namely that it's heart protective when used as TRT).
Just what I want to see next to a wrestling icon, and that stupid smile?!!! Stings been doing this since before you were born, Tony, he’s got this bruh🤨🤣👍
“So Sting, you just concluded your legendary career that picked up after you and Hellwig split up. Do you regret it?” …wh..what? Because that’s essentially what he asked, only it took him eternity to get there. Yeah, so “in hindsight”..making “Sting money” in WCW and being a fucking legend kind of paid off for Mr Sting here. So yeah, it was probably good, that they went their seperate ways..
Jim's daughters are probably in their 20s they don't need to hear about his steroid use from the Stinger. And how would Steve know that Jim took steroids until the end since they did not stay in touch and were not friends? I'm glad Steve is retired and apparently healthy.
I would've liked to have seen them team alittle bit longer, atleast. The team look so badass- and there were some great teams in that era. It would've been cool to see them have a chance to wrestle some of the established teams back then. Rock n Roll, Fantastic, Fabs, ect.
Sting was still a huge guy after steroids. And I think it's very obvious in the way he's able to be down to Earth mentally. And the trajectory their careers took. I think it's merely ironic they started out together. Sting wanted to learn to wrestle, and I believe did so amazingly. Warrior kinda wanted to just keep being a body builder who got a pay check as a wrestler. It's hard to imagine if their paths had been different. Sting unseating Hogan, and Warrior in WCW. I don't think Warrior would be remembered at all without Vince's once in a lifetime push. If Sting had never won the title, I'd still remember him forever.
It wasn't just McMahon's push that made Warrior. He was also a fast rising star in WCCW as Dingo Warrior. There was a reason for his meteoric rise in that WWF snatched him up from WCCW. With the way the territories were headed in their demise he would have ended up in WWF, anyway. (It's worth noting that the Vader gimmick that Leon had was also being considered for Hellwig for Japan.) Either by chance, luck, instruction or his own doing, he marketed himself (in his body, ring gear, character, etc.) for where the future of pro wrestling was headed; national television. There was a reason why Hogan was put in yellow and red. But the difference between Sting and Warrior was that Borden was more of a team player and a loyal employee looking for direction and Hellwig was more individualistic and a go-getter. Not saying that one is either wrong or right, but that they are just different. Sting stayed with the same company until its demise (Mid-South was renamed UWF, UWF was sold to Jim Crockett Promotions, JCP licensed the NWA brand name then sold to Ted Turner and rebranded WCW) and was led through matches by Flair and other veterans being coached throughout (when to play to the crowd; Scott Hall recommended the "Crow" gimmick). Warrior didn't think twice of jumping ship and wasn't scared of standing up to Vince (his many suspensions and being fired) and did what he wanted in the ring (leading to others saying he couldn't work and was selfish). Imagine if Sting was a little more like Warrior (decisive wins instead of a small package to beat Flair for the title and not jobbing out to Goldberg) and Warrior was a little more like Sting (listening to the right direction in being a better wrestler in the ring and having a longer tenure in his wrestling career). Might have been a fun match if Sting and Warrior reunited in their prime and had a match with Road Warriors. The storyline and promo build ups would have been awesome.
Warrior stopped taking steroids in 91 when he left wwf. He used some HGH in summer 92 and possibly in 96 but never used roids again, he was never as physically big as in his prime after 91 again, one of the reasons he stopped using the gorilla press as his finisher. In 98 in wcw he was quite small, probably about 240 lbs.

What he means is he stopped the insane amounts of steroids he was taking in the 80's. (Dbol, Winstrol etc.) There's no way he wasn't taking testosterone during his 90's WCW run.
Sting is one of the rarest things in wrestling, a top guy who I've never heard a bad word about. If you don't get on with Sting you're probably not a great bloke.
What’s up with Tony’s facial expressions 😂🤦🏻♂️ I beg that someone someday sits him down and tells him he needs to stay in the background . No more being front and centre in these press conferences all the time etc he’s a complete liability at this point 😂
Did quitting steroids set Sting's career back? No, I don't think so, largely because he never wanted to leave WCW and there was ceiling there. But it changed the entire nature of his character's move set. He seemed to have a ton of natural strength already. The feats of strength that dude could do when he was Surfer Sting and juiced up, along with his size, speed, and agility made him a flat out specimen. Most importantly, unlike Warrior, he didn't look like he abused the stuff. He just looked like a big strong dude, kind of like Ron Simmons. He was WCW's Hulk Hogan at that time, and absolutely killed in that role. It's a shame WCW was not in the best space by then, because he was not only more dynamic than Hogan, he was equally as over with every crowd he got in front of. I truly believe that if given the proper business backing back then, he could have filled arenas as much or almost as much as Hogan did. Because with the crowds they were drawing, most of them came to see Sting at that point. He was like a superhero. Once he got off the juice, he had some great moments, but he just wasn't the same. He didn't captivate the same. He was still tremendous, though. The Crow Sting was a huge reinvention of the character that was needed, because the Sting that still had the same face paint, and the longer hair, I think, people saw as diminished. He shed that Surfer Sting shadow all together with Crow Sting.
Sting never needed the steroids. The Crow gimmick is one of the best ever and honestly looks better with a smaller guy. The bat was like an equalizer for bigger guys

What he means is he stopped the insane amounts of steroids he was taking in the 80's. (Dbol, Winstrol etc.) There's no way he wasn't taking testosterone during his 90's WCW run.
Testosterone isn't steroids🤦🏻♂️ He only had a crazy body once during the 90s and that was coming off an injury because all he had to do was work out.
Testosterone is a steroid hormone. Dummy@@josephreese6502
He said he didn't do crazy amounts in the 80s. He said he would've done more if he could have afforded them, but he was broke.
Take a look back at Sting at Starrcade 1997. He's lean as hell. He barely has biceps.
Unfortunately, he was on heavy painkillers at the time.
sting did not need the baseball bat that pissed me off
Listening to Warrior's shoot interview I can easily see why Sting departed from Warrior asap. I think Sting answered that question very well.
Besides Jeff Jarett, what other wrestlers from the 80s are still active?
Flair, Lawler, Duggan, Dustin Rhodes
*Jarrett
Nothing but respect for the Stinger, and what he did for pro wrestling
Why did Sting throw Warrior under the bus like that? They needed each other starting out and to not let him RIP is sad.
I'm a Sting fan but I didn't like that part also. Could have left that out wow Sting
Yeah I agree. I only clicked on the video because I didn't believe he said it. A lot of guys didn't stop using steroids.
@@atlien1988 Jim Helwig himself admitted he was on the juice... I do appreciate the honesty.
Didn't throw him under the bus...before 1992 steroids were legal.
Damn, those WON dudes looooove to hear themselves talk.
Tony Khan reminds me of an old impression they did of Steve Jobs on Saturday Night Live.
like the honesty
Sting is one of the rarest things in wrestling, a top guy who I've never heard a bad word about. If you don't get on with Sting you're probably not a great bloke.
Khans facial expressions especially at the end 😂😂😂😂😂
What’s up with Tony’s facial expressions 😂🤦🏻♂️ I beg that someone someday sits him down and tells him he needs to stay in the background . No more being front and centre in these press conferences all the time etc he’s a complete liability at this point 😂
What is that guy next to him doing? He's making like visual-facial commentary with Stings story or something.
That khan lad is tweaking hard
Why is Weird Al Yankovic next to Sting?
Legendary wrestler Sting
That's not a jab that's the truth
Why does John Cena and Sting have the same hairline now?
Cuz you're fat
It's probably cuz you're fat
Yeah.... I'm pretty sure it's because you're fat
You can't see Cena's hairline 👋 🧢
Sting retiring at 65, thats the retirement age right?
It's was but now with the cost of living skyrocketing it may be 70
Sting was a much better wrestler
the guy on the right reminds me of some sort of Robert Downey Jr. high on coke in the 90s ... funny stuff
Tony Khan does not belong next to Sting for this. What a money mark
While it’s true most guys are off steroids now most older wrestlers are on TRT which essentially does the same thing.
I appreciate his honesty 😂
Tony khan wanted to make sure Darby Allin, Sting father signed parental consent form to be able to speak to strangers
Tony Khan making Chris Kattan faces
Would love to just see sting by himself since its about him
Ever since I was a kid in the 80s i heard that steroids shrink your penis. Me and my penis are like this🤞.
Quality content
Tony Kahn looks like he is on crack!😂 the reporter can’t even ask a question 😂😂😂😂. Aew is a clown show with or without facepaint
He probably is lol
*Khan
Stopping the roids is a big part of why he is still with us and unfortunately Warrior is not.
Tonly looks like a hand held Ventriloquist Puppet 😂😂😂😂😂
Warrior catchin strays.
Sting never needed the steroids. The Crow gimmick is one of the best ever and honestly looks better with a smaller guy. The bat was like an equalizer for bigger guys
Him being addicted to crack ruined his career
Tony Khan look like he tweaking off them drugs 😂😂😂
I like Khan as a WWE fan
Tony mugging for the camera every time Sting said something is obnoxious
Tony sitting there grinning , looking like a dope.😅
I love how he casually admitted to steroid use, eat your heart out baseball.😀
