Fire Knight's Greatsword & Spread Crossbow | Snooze and Burn Build | Elden Ring DLC PvP

- Hey Guys!
This is the strongest Invasion build I've come up with so far in Shadow of the Erdtree. Fire Knight's Greatsword does catastrophic damage and has multiple true combos on a COLOSSAL WEAPON! To crank up the heat even more, I'm using the Oil tear and Flame shrouding cracked tear in the physik flask to boost my damage and wielding a Spread Crossbow with Sleep bolts to instantly apply sleep and trigger the smile of St Trina talisman. Damage is just through the roof with this build so I urge you to try it out in PvP before it inevitably gets nerfed.

Edit: Post patch 1.12.3, the R1 to R1 true combo has been removed from the game.
I have several videos planned for the upcoming week including more Greatsword of Damnation Invasions, an updated version of my pure lightning zealot, a Pata dueling showcase, a Great Katana berserker build, a kicking martial arts build, and a Rellana's twinblades mage. Spread Crossbow is so tilting, basically if you approach it you get punished, if you don't, you get punished. Lose if you do, lose if you don't
It's extremely powerful. I expect it to be permanently oppressive for the rest of the game's life. Even if they nerf status buildup , it's always going to be annoying
I think the only “counter” is the spiralhorn shield which boost resistance and makes you tank at least one shotgun blast, but you need to eat a sleep bolous or they’re gonna reload and insta sleep you again.
Idk what’s more fire the weapons or the thumbnail 🔥

Imagine getting Shadow of Erdtree and ganking with the same.outfit and brainless spells over and over again... Don't get me wrong, I play as a combat mage. I love casting, but spamming the same shit even when it's not working... We can't buy IQ anywhere and a bunch of those dudes would really benefit from a brain transplant (if there was one) xD

Maybe you can make a int faith build work (for the new int faith weapons like the throwing stuff and Rellanas blade) cause I have been trying for a bit but I just cant figure out the optimal stat distribution

Crouch poke to crossbow is also a true combo with I believe all colossal swords. Mostly been using it to enhance my poison builds tbh
True true, it's crazy this one inflicts enough hit stun to just combo from a normal R1
This build works best with Thiollier's Hidden Needle. The special thing about this weapon is that the ash of war can be used while it's in your offhand. As far as I know the only other ash of war that can do that is the regular parry ash of war. This means you can easily main hand this broken crossbow and follow up with the Sleep Evermore since it does a ton of extra damage to sleeping targets
I've tried it, this sword hits significantly harder than thiollier's needle's AoW after a sleep with the massive added benefit of actually being a powerful weapon in evert other scenario. Thiollier's needle is very cool for the sleep aesthetic, but it's not going to win you invasions as often
@@VonSchnitz I've only used it in the arena though and it only takes 2 sleep applications to guarantee a kill, but yeah I guess it depends on what build you're running to pick which option is better for you.
@@IsraTheBlack Well here's how I see it: how many setups have a guaranteed kill in two sleep applications? pretty much every single optimized build in the game will kill in 2 sleeps. The power is in the spread X-bow with sleep bolts, not so much thiollier's needle. And in the circumstances where you don't pull a sleep off? Would you rather have that needle or one of many other S tier weapons? It's just more of a gimmick than anything useful. Once the spread X-bow gets a nerf it may have more of a use as a sleep applicator weapon
@@VonSchnitz Yeah that makes sense. It's mostly the crossbow that makes all of it shine. I've tried the needle on its own and it's a very bad sleep applicator even when paired with the st. trina sword(the velvet sword is even worse). I guess its only real use is to have it as an offhand weapon to switch to since its ash of war is an impaling trust that can be used in the offhand for unexpected mix-ups.

New permanent drip? Kinda like it i like how we basically got two radahn armors now
Not sure about permanent drip yet, but I'm loving the death knight helmet and the new Radahn chest for sure
Using that specific fire knight helm the one before messmer should also boost the ash of war

messmer's helmet also boosts them I'm pretty sure, but it might boost them less since it also boosts messmer fire incantations, I don't know.
which infusion should i use? heavy? also, for PVE, would you rather build around faith for versatility?

The bleed build with crouch poke into bleed crossbow is stronger imo.

so, how does thay oil teat work, exactly? does it constantly put oil on yourself and others in a certain range around you for some time? that would be OP XD
Yes. For 60 seconds, it continuously applies the oil debuff to everything near you. Basically, if someone is in melee range of you, they get an oil debuff every second or two. This is how the R1's hit over 1,000 sometimes. Stack the st. Trina sleep buff + oil debuff. You could even drive this damage further beyond with flame grant me strength, golden vow, or consumable buffs. I just don't like dealing with so much buff maintenance, but if you do it, it's a guaranteed 1 shot even on 60 vigor crimson amber +3 players.

like, I still deleted the scadutree avatar but with that it would have taken even less time.
@@cridus_ yeah on my pure faith character I just lobbed giants flame take thee and two shot the health bars, pretty ridiculous how much easier it was on that build than my first dex character
I just realize that the cursor is in the dead center of your screen and now I can't take my eyes off of it.
Yeah it really annoyed me that I recorded all these clips and my cursor was right there for some reason when I went back to look at the clips after. Pretty upset about that 😡

This build is broken, it's seriously the best build you can use rn. A hyper armor true combo that just one shots people is a little hard to beat

The helmet is the death knight helmet, the chest plate is from the last boss. I think I was using the death knight gauntlets and some random black pants that were light on my equip load since I was only running 27 endurance with all that strength 💪

I can only infuse my sword with flame art and not "fire" it is normal?
That doesn't make sense. Fire and flame art should come from the same whetblade so if you have one, you should have the other. Not sure man 😕

Idk how anyone can claim hosts have the advantage in genuine invasions. One hostile npc and whatever min maxed pvp build invaders use beats any number of hosts and phantoms they want
ran into this crap a couple of times, this shit is aids along with blind spot, swift slash spam
It's stupid dumb powerful, feels very punishing to play against this sword or this crossbow so I had to pair them together because I hadn't seen anyone do it yet!

where do you farm for the materials?
That's a good question. So this character was a character I made a long time ago in base game Elden ring through cheat engine. Didn't alter anything to actually cheat, but I did grant him maximum consumables. So I'm just wearing down my stock of several hundred sleep bolts. If you're curious how to do this yourself, it's only possible on PC and Steelovsky has a great video on how to do it in 15 minutes.
To actually create this many sleep bolts, you would need a ton of Trina's Lilies that can best be farmed by killing jellyfish near apostate derelict.
Which armor do you use there?
Death knight helmet, chest from final boss, death knight gloves, and I forget which pants - something light equip load and black

How are you farming your sleep bolts
If you need to farm them, farm jellyfish for the Lillies. This character is a PC character that I used CE to get max inventory of consumables

Yeah there are a few.
So first off, to avoid sleep you need to roll or block the scatter crossbow and then pressure them so they can't reload. Having equipped a focus charm +2 will help not get instant sleeped. The ailment charm also will prevent a second sleep.
Next, to play around the Fire Knight's Greatsword, never never never go for a trade. You have to play patiently and whiff punish them. Great katana running attack is a good option, backhand blades are strong AF with either of their new ash of wars, thrusting shields are good because they can block while attacking.
Overall, it's very difficult to play around even if you counter it.
