Awesome running session. As always loved the video. Just a note, Monday morning I went to my local hobby shop just to look around, didn’t need a darn thing and as I was browsing I noticed a MTH box from a collection he just bought. I read the box and it was a Southern Pacific 4449 steam engine. Looked it up, it was a 1997 with Proto sound. Of course it was the beginning of proto sound. Still conventionally controlled. Took it out, tested. It ran beautifully and didn’t even have a scratch on it. So of course it came home with me. I have the 4449 Christmas Train and cars but I’ve wanted a regular one to run. The website lists it for $495.00. I bought it for $195.00. I also bought the 2 and 3 pack Lionel passenger cars to match. I left there feeling pretty darn good. Anyway thought you might enjoy that story. Have a good on Dave. Till next time… Tim
Thanks Tim. That is an awesome find! Proto sound with conventional control sounds good to me. I’m going to need to pick up a set like that with matching cars at some point. I never felt the pull towards sets before but it’s starting to get a hold of me. Fantastic purchase my friend.
@@dagryffynhobby hey man, like you I really didn’t care much about passenger cars until about two years ago when I got my first set and now when ever I buy an engine I’m always looking for the passenger set. Take care Dave.
Nice train run. Love all the boxcars, wish i saw them in real life more often instead of containers on flat cars.I'm impressed on how well the layouts coming along . Just the rock detailing alone had to have been several hours and lots of sessions. Really nice Dave.
Thank you very much Bill. The rock work has taken quite a bit of time, but I really enjoy seeing the shapes emerge from the foam as I carve. I agree on the boxcars, would be nice to see more of them.
Nice Run.. The locos on the mismatched train are they Fairbanks-Morse locos? Are they running like the AA combo of the F units? Or running separately? All right back to the 225E's motor rebuild... haha 🚂👍
Thanks! The engines are two powered FM Trainmasters with with e-units set to one direction. Unnecessary but fun. Instead of working on the 225s this evening I worked on some mountains. Maybe back to the 225s tomorrow, hopefully.
Love the way the trains snake around the layout.
Thanks! I’m really glad I went with the larger diameter on that outer loop, really makes a difference.
Beautiful video always connect you
Thank you
Thats very impressive! Love the progress. The Erie’s pulling the long consist of boxcars is VERY cool. The foam work is outstanding. Great job Dave!
Thank you very much Steve!
Great train running session! I wish I had more time to just do that.
Thanks! I’ve heard that if you give up sleep, or work, it’s a lot easier to find time to do things, like work on the trains.
Nice long train Dave.. looks really good.. remember the stream goes under the track.. 😀…👍👍👍
Thanks. The stream goes where I tell it to! But yeah under the track would probably look better. 😂
I love those blue double door boxcars that you have there. I have the same ones
Thanks, they are awesome cars, I love the color.
Very nice work in progress
Thank you!
Great video 👍 really like that bay window caboose.
Thanks! Yeah that’s a nice one and so different from most of the other postwar cabooses
Awesome video! Your Lionel Layout is just spectacular!
Thank you very much!
Those passenger cars were mismatched? I thought it was just another private railcar excursion! Layout's really coming along...looking good! T4
Thanks! Right! That’s what I was going for! Yeah, that’s the ticket. It’s not mismatched it’s a private excursion!
@@dagryffynhobby I knew it! Thanks. T4
Oooooo I like train videos!
Well you are in the right place then!
Thanks for watching 👍
Your layout is coming along nicely man. Keep it up!
Thank you!
