i actually hate both endings. both are blue balls as fuck, like what did he do all that fighting for, just to die or feel bad for killing his rival? like god dam, i just dont like how it ends either way but love it all the way to the end
Don't be fooled, there is no secret ending - just the bad (first), good (after you beat the game for the first time and spare all bosses), and there is a separate achievement for finishing being below 26 years old.
I think by “secret” he meant post credits.
so you can't spare first run. that makes it much better cause in another comment they said they can and that would ruin the story a bit
@@annlysettezambrana I believe it is actually possible. Made a fresh female playthrough after beating the game and was able to make the spare bosses option. But yeah I agree, it kinda ruins the story to make it possible on the first playthrough.
@@TheLightUpMachine the whole idea is revenge you could argue the MC want to be the better man or some shit like that if you do spare but nah
Thanks
The hardest part of the good ending was resisting the urge to immediately spam the execution combo, the amount of times I had to redo levels simply because it became muscle memory at the point is just too much.
It really made the Wude part becomes more apparent.
You literally fight your own self to spare others. In this case your muscle memory, instinct and impulse to end the fight violently like the usual mob battle.
This game deep.
(ignore the 200+ body count along the way)
RIGHT?! It's just really frustrating. I just beat Sean two times and in both of them I accidentally executed him. FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU...
@@ethempiskin7795 I probably did that 3 times for Sean, twice for the botanist and once for the museum gal
@@Redzeths I just did it to Yang🤦🏾♂️. I got him on the next try though
Yes I did this on each boss at least once, with the possible exception of the 4th. I also found it more difficult to spare the first 2 guys than the rest, their health pool depletes so fast I found myself having to concentrate on avoiding doing too much damage.
1st loop: Sifu kills every one of the bosses. He is ashamed of what he becomes and starts the loop all over again.
2nd loop: Sifu spares the bosses, giving them the knowledge that he could beat them at any time in order to get revenge - in turn humbling them all.
Yang gives back the medallion to the deceased main character in order to revive him, and in the after credits scene we can see the main character alive (shown with his bead bracelet and red sash) responding to the student in the reinstated Sifu school.
yep
Got the spare ending rn and i was looking for explanations, thx
Thank you I was so confused when I got the peaceful ending.👍
i think it is possible in 1st loop spare all bosses. just tested it and seems like work...
@@Mr2012armageddon It wasn't your first loop if you were redoing old levels. Have to start a new save

@@sanjivinsmoke2719 12 years? You time traveling?
Just to clear up any confusion with why the game has so many people named Sifu. Understand that Sifu is a title, equivalent to Sensei, a teacher of a martial art.
Jack Sifu, John Sifu and Sean Sifu
They both mean the same English word for teacher, but Sifu is predominantly for each style of Kung-Fu, while Sensei revolves around Japanese martial arts like karate, such as Shotokan.
The person in the after credit is the MC. Here's the reasoning:
1. Ending credit takes place at the old school/ MC's home.
2. They were wearing the same outfit/ has double bead bracelets on their wrist.
3. At 9:02 when Yang tossed the talisman away all the coins were shiny. In the after credit scene the final coin was dull > MC did passed away, but was probably revived back (Yang returned the talisman to him).
This. I dunno why people assume Yang is the one in the post credit scene. no. 2 and no. 3 are BIG ENOUGH hints to show its the student themselves.
OMG THAT’S SO OBVIOUS HOW DIDN’T I REALISE THAT!? Thank you!
The story is about not wasting your life on hatred and learn forgiveness.. i think the mc got revived by yang the way he wanted to save his wife and daughter in the past. you spare him and in turn he spares you.
@@xsmoelf i mean it the second time he spares you remember in the prologue
It was definitely the MC, I was playing with mods on and shaggy showed up in my post-credit.
I'm amazed there are so many people assuming that the sifu in the post-credit scene is Yang, considering his very clearly MC attire and the faded talisman
and the Bracelet beads on his right hand that he wears the whole time
@@TrickyJebus that's part of his attire, indeed
Some people also assumed that the two who were talking at the end of the bad ending scene were the protagonist and the sifu, which is obviously wrong
It's Yang asking for the talisman to revive his wife and child, that's the whole reason he gets banished then goes back to kill his sifu
I love the after credits scene. Yang giving back the medallion and reviving Sifu, who gets to live to their thirties to train a next generation of martial artists, presumably in Kung-Fu, AND Wude. Man, it's these short games that leave me at the edge of the seat, and stick around long after the game is done.
Giving back the medallion? From what I understand is Yang keeps it and becomes the next sifu teaching kung fu and wude, does our character not die in the good ending?
@@mrbubbatron9523I imagine it's Sifu, if you wear an alternate outfit it shows the man in the post credits wearing the outfit you have equipped. Unless Yang is into wearing his enemies clothes.
@@mrbubbatron9523Yang is already doing something which is tending to the sanctuary. Also, I think the gang gave up their murderous lifestyle and did their own things. So I doubt Yang would work at Sifu’s dojo, and he still hates Sifu too. But he believed that the student is different to Sifu because we spared him even though we knew Yang **REALLY** wanted him dead. So the student is most likely still alive and teaching at the dojo.

God it's so nice seeing the team behind Absolver make another game that is so good and getting so much praise.
Really they made absolver game was amazing too bad not many people knew about it
absolver is criminally underrated and it still annoys me to this day. glad to see this game put these devs on the map and hopefully we can see some more stuff from them in the future
Dude Absolver was so badass. They just relied too heavily on the multiplayer aspect of it. Sifu showcases how the game would have turned out without so much multiplayer reliance
@@testedhawk True in Absolver you can finish its story in half to 1 hour tops. Then you just aimlessly wondering, collecting techniques and fighting online which is cool but gets stale really quickly.
I hope they do a huge update on absolver or make a new online one
So to sum up the story. Student kills all the bosses, regrets it, then kills himself somehow to go back to an earlier time to where his sifu was still alive, steals the talisman, gets banished, proceeds to spare all bosses, dies to Yang, Yang regrets it (8 years can change a guy and he probably didn't want to kill him, just teach him a lesson as a Sifu should), that's why you can hear Yang calling out to the student after the blow. Student gets inner peace knowing that he was able to save everyone. Yang takes the bracelet to remember the student and takes the the talisman to become its new guardian, uses his wealth to restart the school and teach the old ways as their old Sifu had. That's why there are only 4/5 talismans still glowing, the student used it to go back to spare everyone. Crazy.
Ohhhhh now I get it thanks for summing this up
I don't think that's yang at the end, I think yang gave the talisman back after realizing his wrongs. The figure at the end is wearing the main characters beads and red sash, it would be weird for yang to be wearing that. Plus the talisman has a piece that's dulled like it's been used. I think it may be up for interpretation though
That's the student at the end since it's his attire, red sash, the wristbands, the black clothing.
F your stupid Yang. The mc wore both the beads and the red sash around his waist. He is in his father's original Dojo.
Interesting stuff, thanks for taking the time to dig deep into the story & break it down. I completed all variants & found all the items on the board. Can't wait for dlc (if), 10/10 game. Gameplay was top tier, only downside is there isn't more of it & I wished they added more to the story to make u feel like the people your fighting are even more deserving of the ass beating their gonna receive. I don't typically play fighting games, but this is my favorite hands down.
Yang obviously killed MC and then realized that after 8 years he was spared and forgiven. Then he gave back the amulet to MC so he can teach students what sifu taught. You can tell by how all pendants on the amulet was glowing on the ground and one was gone after the epilogue.
While the story isn’t crazy or the greatest, it’s simple and captures a good kung fu movie but the secret ending is what makes me enjoy the story. Being to see it as our character looping one more time to fix it all and experience peace.
So a time traveling immortal kungfu master isnt interesting?
Yeah I'm tired of people thinking that everything has to be a masterpiece. It's the same with movies.
it really goes to show how the trope/story doesnt really matter, what matters is the execution :)
@@alexism9656it is a masterpiece.
My guess is the endings are along the lines of:
He DID kill all the bosses, but later regretted it (What actually happened). He came to terms with it, found inner peace (The second loop, with him looking back on his actions), and starting teaching new students.
I only think the person playing it can control the loop, I don't think he (the character) gets to loop back to change mistakes, only reborn again to make the decision on the spot. Because if that were the case he'd be immortal, even after dying beyond his life span of 70-80.
@@prime2d958 That's what I mean. What actually happened is that he killed them. The second ending - where he achieves inner peace - is him contemplating his decisions, and coming to terms with killing them (which is why he spares them the second time, but they're never seen again).
The ending is that he went on with his life, opened a dojo, started teaching students and set the talisman aside.
@@burnout02urza They're never seen again because lazy plot writing. That's the real reason. You're trying to justify plot gaps with assumptions.
@@burnout02urza That's wrong and contradictory of the bad ending. The bad ending shows that the protag strayed from being the Sifu since he was consumed by revenge. The second ending isn't him coming to terms with it. Coming to terms with the fact that you killed doesn't make you worthy of being a Sifu. The second ending is a loop where he chooses not to kill, since a Sifu is supposed to guide and teach those that go astray, which you can't do if you kill them. This culminates to his ideals as a Sifu being tested against Yang, which he ultimately succeeds in fulfilling as he stays true to his ideals and doesn't allow revenge to consume him while also proving that he could've killed him but chose not to. He is revived one last time by Yang and now runs the dojo, setting the talisman aside since he now has more to his life than the talisman and revenge. He now has a legacy as a Sifu.
@@Lethargy514 yeah.. that looks like Yang's hand in The End.
Interestingly, after i finished my second playthru with a modded character, the post credits scene showed my modded character’s body in the dojo walking towards their student. Perhaps this means the protag survived the true ending after all.
Yeah, after being outmached and humbled, Yang uses a part of the talisman (indicated by the one coin that isn't glowing) to revive the protagonist and then the protagonist sets up his own school.
The spare ending is so odd to me 😂, Sifu will go and kill everyone but when it comes to the main bosses for revenge he spares them because "You can kill anyone... just not the actual people you wanna kill because vengence is bad"
Henchmen's life doesn't really matter since they are jobers following their bosses like a dog 😅 but the bosses I'm sure you can change their heart 🥰
I’m pretty sure if you’re defeating the henchmen with bare hands or blunt weapons most of the time they stay alive
I've been thinking about that too but maybe their deaths aren't canon and the protag just knocks them out
@@JonathanPaspula Yeah but I think I murdered almost everyone after the museum part of the game.
If you look closely sometimes the henchmen can be seen still moving in the ground after a ko, they not dead, just knocked out
Interesting how all the endings are the 'canon' one
you can only unlock the option to spare the targets after you kill them once before, which is implied to be the result of the student activating it's powers somehow in regret after killing yang and realising his revenge failed to make then a better person than their targets, and brought them no peace, sending them back to the beginning of their revenge attack.
This time, they gain the choice of beating the targets, but choosing to spare them, allowing them both the live with the knowledge that the student was strong enough to take their revenge, but chose not to, and the student to reconcile their need to humble or defeat the targets who believed they were superior to their father and needed to remove him to 'improve' the city their way.
And the secret ending is implied to be the student dying from wounds they've sustained fighting Yang, but their spirit being at peace from their spiritual ordeal, they are able to ascend to a higher plane of sorts in the afterlife, and the experience humbles Yang, who keeps their bracelet as a reminder as he teaches students the old way their master did in the future.
Was the guy in the secret ending yang?
@@candogan3757 think it was.
The student certainly seems to die taking the same blow that killed their father, and which they used to kill Yang the first time around, before persisting on sheer willpower to return the favour but pointedly staying their hand at the final moment, so as to teach Yang a lesson
Note that after taking that blow, you no longer have health anymore, because you're already dead, but are persisting based on your strength of will
As the 'sifu' of the title, it is their duty to teach a wayward student who has strayed from the path
And since we never see the 'sifu' of the secret ending's face, and the Student lost the talisman that allowed them to avoid death before that final blow, I think it's heavily implied to be a repentant Yang, who has turned over a new leaf and is trying to make up for his destruction of their school beforehand.
@@lachlancarter1707 but that medallion had one of the medals darkened, implying that he could have gave it back to the student, and he came back one last time.
@@candogan3757 I think that part is open to interpretation. Yang could have redeemed himself and become a respected sifu, or he could have returned the talisman to the player, reviving them again and the player became the sifu.
Don't think it was Yang. Yang never wore the beads around his wrist the entire game, only the MC have the bead bracelets. It was the MC.
This game has some of the best fighting animations

The animation is actually really damn good.
Yea but the characters look like low rez Polygons. At least they got the movements done well. A little clunky here and there but overall good enough.
Compare it to the matrix: path of Neo. This game doesn't seem to have the budget (or time) for being that smooth though. If you enjoy this game then check that one out. I've managed to run it on windows 10.
@@taramaforhaikido7272 honestly prefer the low rez polygon aesthetic, it would look wack if it was ultra realistic
@@taramaforhaikido7272 this ratio looks like low rez polygons
@@hoffa9000 I don't mind if it looks "average" but looking at the arms of the player you can see the low rez "blocks".
There's a difference between "Focusing on gameplay over graphics" and "Nearly looking like minecraft". That might be because someone was playing on low graphics though. I only really noticed it in the hall at the start on a youtube video.
@@taramaforhaikido7272 it’s probably cause making the style like this was their focus??????
Second ending MC wake up in Adal and become Absolver. Joke aside, the second ending really remind me the ending from Fearless.
I also thought it was Adal for a second, especially the bushes
It would have been amazing if a spirit guide walking by says to him, "Good, you have achieved Wude. Wanna ascend even higher as he gives him a white absolver mask making him the protagonist for Absolver 2.
For anyone wondering, the protagonist canonically only died once, since the relic has only one faded coin. implying it was used to revive Sifu at the end of the fight with Yang.
Initially it implied that he only bled out as a kid but the Relic heals him before completely going cold since it was shown that the Coins still have their light in the beginning
Honestly the revive mechanic is a bit wonky lore wise, I don't think Sifu truly dies on each revive during gameplay, rather, its more of a near-death injuries, which the relic heals him at the cost of his mortality.
if it has one non glowing bar he atleast died 10 times.
@@mertarican5456 Like I said wonky, Its those "gameplay isn't canon to the story" thing but partially. The bosses barely mentions you dying except when they first killed you as a kid.
Yang only mentions the lack of fear because of the coins power to "heal" but never comments how you look aged because of it.
The game also gives more lives when beating minibosses.
The game can also have you looking 50 years old at the end.
The relic has only a few coins. Explain that one. I think you're grasping at straws. And if Yang knows about how the coins cause aging then why would be comment on it if he already knows? It's not like you don't already know yourself.
@@taramaforhaikido7272 Gameplay mechanic tied to the thematic of the game, that's it. Think of DMC if it helps visualize what I mean.
Kinda like canonically SIFU never really killed everyone excluding the bosses(if you choose that ending), maimed maybe, but they aren't dead *dead* despite the multiple stab wound they got from you bashing glass or shiving their mortal asses.
also any ending depends on how old you finish, its not inherently tied to Old Age SIFU or any ending really and it seems people are confused by this.
@@DOT107 Devil May Cry doesn't have gameplay mechanics that contradict itself that I know of.
I'm talking about contradictions here. What do the coins have to do with age? If it's just a gameplay mechanic. You said it yourself. The age is a gameplay mecahnic. Yet you statted Yang doesn't comment about it to the player.
Yang also takes the amulet away from the player. In a cutscene. So that's not a gamelay mechanic.
"Knocking out instead of killing" also isn't a good counter argument. People say "kill" when people get knocked outin Batman games. That's more poor wording.
I love how the ending was left ambiguous. Really cool seeing people's interpretations of the story
In the bad ending, you can see the pain in Yin's (I decided to name him that because he's the opposite of Yang) eyes. He hated the fact that he just killed his own brother
but let’s forget he had his buddy slice a child’s throat.
His name is litterally tze games name, sifu
@@wRemifr Sifu means "master" in Chinese, which is why multiple people are referred to as Sifu in-game

7:42 Star Wars reference.
Actually, this game makes a few. Think about it. The brothers are basically Luke and Vader. Yang is even teaching his brother to improve, do better and be stronger. While defying expectations and teaching lessons. Just like Vader would.
Pretty good for a game that doesn't focus on story. It's "subtle" instead of "Flashy".
I think we will get a dlc where we play as Yang from the past since there clearly is more reason he did those things, I think his child and wife died and he wants the talisman to save them
I really like the symbolism of beating game ("bad" ending) as an old Sifu. After beating all of the bosses he realises that he is now an old man who spent his entire life on revenge, and now he has nothing but few small years left ahead of him.
The post-credit scene isn't a secret ending bruh, it's just the continuation of the good one
Notice how when you were a kid you weren't holding the talisman, but after you woke up from dying you were holding it, implying Yang gave it to you in the first place for whatever reasons we dont know. So as 8 years go by you train, you get back at them to let them know you can break them but you choose not too and in the end, Yang again returns the talisman to you. Thus wude is achieved.
just my two cents to the story
Incredible game honestly. The best 3D over-the-shoulder action combat I've experienced in a game since God Hand. I've actually spent over 30 hours playing it and got almost all of the trophies. But a lot of those hours was just spent me speedrunning the levels over and over and over again just because of how good the combat is
I honestly thought that this would be a generic Kung Fu revenge story, but the addition of the second playthrough and sparing gives it so much more depth.
As much as the game made me want to pull my hair out, I love the symbolism and simplicity of the story.
I love how it doesn’t vilify vengeance but shows how you can break the cycle and the reward for that is far greater.
It’s pretty obvious to interpret the main character actual name is Yin since his brother is Yang. I mean one wears black and the other wears white. Idk why ppl keep calling him the student.
That's genius thinking if you ask me! 😃
I haven’t seen anyone make a comment about what I’m about to talk about so here it is, In the bad ending MC kills everyone, after he kills Yang he finds he feels… nothing. When he realizes what he has done and that he was wrong he loops back, in the second ending he takes the time to kick their ass to remind them he can kill them, they can’t stop him, but he chooses to hold back, I also find the after images of the spare cutscenes extremely interesting but that’s for another day, after Yang kills MC he realizes something, MC let him win. And the game lets the player realize this too, when you go to spare Yang and he takes that punch to kill you, the camera (and Yang) watch the MC look at it and tell himself “no” and then just takes the hit. I think Yang revived MC because even Yang realized that MC could’ve ended things right there but chose to spare Yang, causing Yang to have a change of heart as well, as for the secret ending, we see the MC following in their fathers footsteps, teaching young students the art of Wude
So the bad ending is getting your revenge and reflecting - only to be told you have no honor (whatever that accounts for when your family is dead).
And the good ending is... Having a heart attack and dying before beating the boss, while achieving "wude" only after you die. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!
8:40 when the final boss does something so devious you gotta hit him with the Wude stare
perfect parries on the final boss makes him a piece of cake.
Especially in phase 1.
The cool thing about the endings is how you basically have to beat/kill everyone else. It's like both paths may be rewarding but it leads to dire consequences. Killing everyone is basically a "I've won, but at what cost?" moment, but sparing gives you inner peace.
Quite a few ppl calling the MC's name Sifu... thats not really the case... The name Sifu just means master. Like how you would call someone a coach/trainer. Sifu isnt the main character's (aka the son of deceased Sifu's) name. Altho, in the good ending he does become a Sifu since he is now "qualified" by his fighting experience throughout the game i suppose. But thats not his name nor official title. Its a title that is earned and I guess thats what this game is kinda about.. to become a Sifu, in Sifu. Lol. Still not his name tho!
We're all aware Sifu means master and it's not his name, but it's just more convenient and interesting to call him Sifu since he does show all the mastery and humbleness of a Sifu, so it's just more interesting to call him that.
Literally contradicted urself there lmao
Honestly such a beautiful ending I actually took mixed martial arts specifically Brazilian jujitsu and karate and even tho you (the character) could absolutely take these bosses life’s and you choose not to is absolutely what mixed martial arts is all about being patient calm collected but more importantly humble in martial arts you %100 learn things that could hurt someone or even ruin someone’s life but it’s you’re discipline and self control is what concurs over everything and I can’t believe the portrayed that so great and beautiful in a game with barely any dialogue and is only in total at least a two and half hours game I never thought I would see a game that could truly understand not just the combat of martial arts but the deeper meanings and lessons that come along with it
This game is way better than most triple A games these days
Aahhh ok. So killing all those other people is fair game but killing the BOSSES gets me the bad ending .
Gotcha totally Pacifist run 😜
You didn't kill them.. Gravity did.. *Batman Paradox*
In my opinion minions aren't part of your revenge: you only want to face their bosses but they get in your way so it's """ok""" to kill them I guess (the classic difference between murder and killing in combat). If you do a bit of roleplay, and there's a conversation opportunity with them, you can indeed say things like "I don't want to fight you" or "Get out of my way". THEY choose to fight you and die. This is my point of view anyway.
I mean, I think you only really KILL them if you're using the knife, since I've seen a lot of the minions still moving or holding their knees after I finished them off. A lot of them seem to be unconscious and pretty close to dead, but others seem like they're just dealing with the worst choice they made for the entire week.

I am a Chinese, I know whats was the message the Game trying to convey.
"Wude" means "Moral of Martial Art"
The Five Bosses representing the Five Fundamental Element of Feng Shui
"Jing"(Gold) "Mu"(Wood) "Shui"(Water) "Huo"(Fire) "Tu" ( Earth)
The first Boss possess "Mu"(Wood) talistment, it representing life or grow in chinese, but this boss used it the wrong way and to take people life, It was against the true path of the talisment, Sparing him would taught him "Ren"(Benevolence) which making him realised his duty is to help but not taking people life.
Because "kung fu is to protect not to attack."
The Second Boss "Huo" (Fire) Talistment, It representing destroy and power, but this boss was a person who seek for the bestest fight, he had lost himself by seeking greater power and show no respect to anybody and thats explain his haughty
Sparring him would taught"Zhun"(Respect), which is he understood he must be respect to his own teacher eventhough he became better than his teacher.
Because "respecting the teaching obeying the path" are fundamental of a Chinese.
The Third Boss, "Shui"(Water) Talistment, it representing soft and flow, but this lady had lost her mind due to her past, she killed her sister in a dual,
Sparring her would taught her "Zhi"(Wisdom), Which she understood she must not let herself live in the past, she learn to let go her own demon.
Because "We cannot correct our past but we could correct our future"
The Fourth Boss, "Jing"(Gold) Talistment, it representing metal or gold, that explain why she is rich and using hard metal as weapon, but she was the one who suppose to protect the talistment and failed her purpose,
Sparring her would taught her "Yi"(Responsibility), Which she understood she must adhere her principle as a guardian of the talistment.
Because "Every Men live with a Purpose"
The Last Boss. "Tu"(Earth) Talistment, it representing giving birth, thats why he could transfer people life, but he was failed to face his family dead and went against the principle of apprentice,
Sparring him would taugher him "Chen"(Sincere), which he understoond some fate must be follow the nature and be sincere to his duty.

I just said sifu cause i wanna mark comment when this game came out and when its 10 years later i wanna look back at this comment

dear lord i have to wait 1 year for a DLC for this game, i hope we get one cuz i really need more , this game was somehow harder then dark souls
Do you break the talisman chain if you decide to kill, say, Kuroki after sparing the lives of Fajar and Sean? Or do you just get the option to redo the Museum and spare her life? I'm guessing if you proceed to fight Yang with one boss dead, you'll still end up with the bad ending, right?
Just need to do 1 run of the level sparing them to get the talisman
After you spare them it doesn't matter how many you kill for the run, they stay spared. I spared everyone till I got to Yang, and then had to rethink my entire build cause you just CAN'T use your focus against that bastard, so I went back, speedran and killed everyone to get to him much younger and still got the good ending.
Sifu, Batman: Arkham series, and Sleeping Dogs are my favorite martial arts games
1:19 Damn my boy memorised his dads belt patterns
Honestly, these are Great Endings.. but I feel The Moral would've been more Powerful, had you actually been GIVEN The Choice on whether or Not You want to Kill The Bosses. Cause I gotta say.. by the Time I came around to facing Kuroki. I was all out of Revenge.
What do you mean? You are given the choice
@AVAIT! WAIT - WHAT?! **Looks at Bloodied Hands** "What have I become?"
@@DavidMyrmidon a mean, lean, KILLING machine 😂
@@Timebomb_19 The FIRST time. Without being forced to replay. Might be what he means. GIVEN it. Instead of "forcing it".
@@taramaforhaikido7272 you can spare them the first time, it’s just not obvious.
I'll rather call it Kill/Spare Ending instead of Good/Bad Ending. Protagonist have all the right to choose whether to kill the bosses and avenge his father; or to spare their life since most of them are helping other people at that time.
There is actually just one ending. The choice isn't removed from the protagonist. The 'bad' ending is the first half and the 'good' ending is the second half that completes the whole story. The way it's written is that he/she did make the choice to kill all them the first time (that's why we get no options to spare them during the first run) but he/she found no peace in it and so he/she went back to fight them again but this time, spared them which completes the story. So basically, players who only killed them, essentially just finished one half of the story.
Or, the main character is yin, and the antagonist is yang, and through wuje they find balance.
epic game epic animations epic gameplay and the good ending is one of the best
this is gonna be a really great movie when it’s done being produced.
Your father didn't have time to teach you t- *gets punched in the face*
i would just like to share that the non-punch from the secret ending was an exact copy of ruclips.net/video/_vKfMnXHrKg/видео.html
all credit goes to the legendary Chinese martial artist, Huo Yuan Jia
"I spared you to show that killing is not the way. Also, here's the receipt for the burial of the 5000 or so guys I killed on the way to teach you that lesson."
Old comment but it is less saying 'killing isn't the way' and more 'im better then you clearly, you wronged me, and yet I *chose* to spare you, remember this moment' you dishonor and humble them instead of killing them by showing that your father's teachings did not make you weak like they assumed. The sparing is basically forgoing revenge to instead follow the lessons of your father, teaching them a lesson in humility and allowing yourself to move on, while the bad ending is basically the regret of killing the last member of your family setting in at last and believing you had become a disgrace to your father's teachings (considering the fact it loops to the second run implies the student couldn't handle the guilt so killed himself to use the talisman to rewind time to try to undo his mistake)
@@Thastormable I bet the 5000 guys you killed on the way would have chosen to live dishonorably rather than die honorably.
imagine, yang's brother is named yin
Isn't this the exact same video as the final boss battle one basically?
yup
pretty much lol
@@DanAllenGaming 😆
You either are a hacker or insanely good the game has been out for a few hours and you finished it at age 24
I’ve played over 30 hours. I received a review code a week ago!
@@DanAllenGaming oh
Love the game and the idea of the story and have now achieved the good ending - its a bit hypocritical though. You could go through the game using the vicious blade takedowns which presumably leave the goons dead but that's OK as long as you leave the bosses alive?
Like in the Arkham games, they’re ‘unconscious’ ☠️
GG gaming
I can’t believe I went through all that just for an anti-climax ending then the game just goes back to the beginning. It’s never implied that you’re supposed to spare the bosses
“He who has Kung-Fu and Wude, makes the other know he can break him, his hands go out like lightning and the other doesn’t want to fight anymore”
Never implied right?
@@Pyromaniac963 it only says that at the end, though right? Or did I miss that?
@@DanFarrell98 Yes but thats how the story works, after killing the final boss he feels guilt and then you can go back and spare them on a second playthrough. You’re not supposed to do it/know you can do it the first time.
@@DanFarrell98 That’s why it goes back to the beginning when you beat it, so you can replay it but spare them this time
Truly this is the amazing power of Seafood.
What kills the protagonist in Wude ending? An off-screen finishing blow by Yang? Or he just collapses for reasons?
I think you die from yang earlier blow to your chest that should have killed you and any other moves during the no hp moment
Old comment but figured would answer, the MC was already dying by that point, it's why you don't have a health bar anymore, your technically already dead, yang used the same heart stopping punch on the MC that he used on the father, just the MCs body was tougher thus it could hold out for a little bit but the MCs heart was already failing, hence the coughing before the third phase and coughing before dropping to the ground. The MCs heart finally surrendered to the stress of the technique, though it gave him enough time to demonstrate he *could* have finished it then and there but chose not to.
@@Thastormable That is the most badass thing ever.

Can you please tell me the lore behind the aging mechanic? That's so confusing to me.
The pendant takes a little life energy in exchange for bringing you back from the dead. As a result, you age a little bit.
@@Acryllis0767 If you consider an entire year of your life a little.
Give me that time back.

1/100. Thats a lil
@@NexhiAlibias Yeah, if you brush over what comprises of that 1/100. 365 days. 8760 hours. Still sound like a little? It only sounds like a little because you're being disingenuous about what that 1/100 years entails.
@@Lethargy514
Its not disingenuous to point out the relativity of how small one year of a 70-100 year lifespan especially as as we all live one year can come and go in a blink of an eye if one isnt paying attention.
Eh. I prefer the 'bad' ending. Nothing wrong with revenge if you have the power to enact it. The Wude stuff felt pretentious and preachy to be honest. The 'bad' ending felt more satisfying, badass, and plain damn awesome. The enemies are killed after all.
This was to say the least quite interesting.
Damn the one where you're old gets serious music got me on edge so dud he die but woke up wise so now he isn't controlled by revenge
Gotta say, 'Violence is good as long as its not murder, which is enlightenment' stuff is pretty dumb in games like this. Hope none of the mooks you smashed died of brain hemorages, or internal bleeding. They don't count as murder victims.
Im not saying murder makes you a better person, but im pretty sure you could have at least stopped the bosses from continuing with their gang stuff at the very least.
the final ending implies he did stop them from continuing their gang stuff after he defeated them and spare their lives. All 3 ending are canon as the first ending happened which lead the Student to regret his choices as it never did bring him the peace he wanted so he was sent back in time to make a different choice after he defeats them by sparing them and letting them live with the thought that he can defeat them at anytime. After he finally reach Yang again, instead of killing Yang he spares Yang by not performing the final blow to teach him one finally lesson but dies in the process. This event made Yang think about his life after the Student died and realize everything he had done was not what he really wanted. As a result he rebuilt the martial art school and began teaching new students to make amends for his crimes the rest of his life by making certain the martial arts of their family is passed down to a new generation with the help of the others that the Student spared.
Alright. Still feels hackneyed, because you would have killed a ton of people to get to that point.
@@davidspektorov8262 tbh it's probably more like batman making everyone a cripple.

Lesson from Sifu
Spare all bosses, kill everyone else.
This game was like some sasuke and itachi shit.
Guess I'll watch this video since I'm never reaching even level 3
Eh, i don't see what everyone is talking about. This game should be like 25 bucks at most. They made it super hard for no reason, the story isn't captivating. There is barely any cut scenes, barely any storytelling. The fights are super repetitive. You don't get any super cool moves, but each boss has domain expansion, and the ending is the land before time. I don't see what everyone is raving about.
praying we get dlc for this game somehow
I 100% recommend for any people playing now, to switch to the Chinese dub. It is much more authentic.
I’m confused. How exactly do you get the true ending, or even the good ending?
you must spare all boss, to spare boss is when you have option to finish boss in second phase, dont do that, you must finish the boss in 2nd finishing and congratulation you spare the boss
@@rivan346 guess I’ll be doing a second play through. At least after my first one.
You basically go and fight all the bosses again and during their second phase, you have to break their structure TWICE and the option to spare them will show up. It can be a whole lot more difficult than killing them because you have to prolong the fight, eat hits, and parry at perfect times to break structure.
The Wude ending falls a little flat when you spare the bosses but slaughter the minions
Now sure if anyone said or noticed this…… but in the beginning after yang kills your father and orders jaffar to kill your think he for some reason leaves the talisman to you. I noticed how the focused the camera on your players hands mainly when coming out to reveal yourself and doing that time your hands are empty. But after Yang gets the box and you are assumed dead you wake up without a scratch and the talisman in your hand…. What you guys think?
Maybe yang felt bad so put it in the mcs hand to revive him
Gotta love them low budget ending sequences
