      What is the ground wire for. How does it work

  • @FantmVirus
    @FantmVirus 7 лет назад +9

    a set of 20 sent crimp connectors and some heat shrink tubing would make the wiring so much better. Electrical tape should be placed on top of heat shrink waterproof tubing. Good video - appreciate the hint on running the wire through the firewall - I went through the firewall by the brake pedal. Good to know alternative spot to run the wires.

    The ground wire you placed on the toggle switch (gold prong) is what gets illumination of the switch. So it does matter what wire goes where on the other prongs. One will supply light to the toggle the other will not.

    Great video! I personally prefer the four LED "cube" style lights for windshield mounting, but these are cool to!

    Heat shrink works better for moisture protection

    A little bit of a hack job on the wiring there. But a true Unity spotlight with LED is the way to go!

    Nice! But when you were crimping the wires together you were supposed to crimp a male connector onto the lights instead of just sticking them in there. Great video though!

    good informative video, that thing where you ran the cable under it's called the cowl. where did you place your switch? on the video the cable seemed to be short.

    Do these interfere with the radio at all, I have used some inexpensive lights in the past and they stomp all over the AM radio stations and some hissing on FM. Just found your channel and love the vids!

    Bro did you seriously crimp a female clam connector? Correct way is either crimp male connector to light or remove clam and use splice butt connector, then heat shrink to weather proof.

    Thats a relay not a junction box, also that's the smallest "torque wrench" I've ever seen.

    have you had any trouble with water getting in? or the led burning out?

    • @jameshilliard5012
      @jameshilliard5012 7 лет назад

      Conner Hayes I had a set for roughly a year and yes a little water got inside of them but the LEDs still worked and they were very bright for the price they are on amazon. Definitely more impressive than eBay lights that may even be more expensive.

    Total hack job. Electrical tape is not going to stop water. Get a set of crimpers and some heat shrink. That was not a torque wrench it was a ratchet wrench. This hurt watch. I just wanted to see if the lights were any good

    • @HowtowranglerJeep
      @HowtowranglerJeep  4 года назад +1

      “This hurt watch”, that’s a hack job of the English language. Instead of criticizing my work, you should make your own channel. Then everyone can learn from the master.
