    Just what I was looking for. Thanks. I'd add that with my particular grease gun the connector was getting stuck on the fitting. I found that the best way to remove from the fitting was to unscrew from the hose and grip with a pair of pliers and pull.

    My 2022 Tracker has the Dexter EZ lube axles. Can't say for sure, but yours also appear to be Dexters. According to Dexter instructions.....you first jack up the tire, then spin the tire while injecting grease. Not rotating tire dumps the grease in one spot and can blow the back seal. If you have a Dexter system, search for Dexter E-Z lube system.

      Definitely the best practice, to rotate the wheels while adding grease.

    Just curious why you keep pumping when you see grease? That’s how you blow out seals.

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  2 года назад

      At the time when I purchased the boat it was explained that is how you know the grease cavity has been filled. For bearing buddies this will definitely blow out the rear seal. I didn't have any seal issues filling this way on the tracker trailer.

    Good stuff sir. Silly question... On that last part on the outboard that you greased, what is that little lever for?

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  3 года назад

      I greased the actual hinge that the trolling motor pivots on and also the pins that lock it in place. Greasing the pins lets it release so much easier with the pull handle.

      @@mvboutdoors I meant the lever on the outboard..

    I have a similar motor on my boat and am trying to find a way to keep the motor from turning when trailering. Do you use anything other than a transom saver?

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  2 года назад

      I also had issues sometimes with it turning. The best solution I found was when using the transom saver make sure the tilt really locks it into place and the bungie is tight.

    I noticed you mixed grease types...different colours means different viscosity?

      Red/blue typically means marine or not

    Any suggestions on greasing squeeky stearing wheel?

    • @mvboutdoors
      @mvboutdoors  2 года назад

      The hardest part is finding where the squeak is coming from. It could be within the steering wheel where you want to use a thin oil like silicone or down the cable where you want to use some grease.

    In a lot of cases you have to hold the nipple on the fittings.

      I'm still using it today, almost 5 years later, so pretty happy with it lol

    If you keep greasing your bearings with a grease gun you can blow out the seals, bearings should be inspected every year, I pack mine by hand.

    Be aware that standard grease will attract dirt and dust if exposed to the environment. A silicone spray will do a better job in areas such as the wench teeth and other items that are exposed to dirt and dust.

    How come so many people who post diy videos can't find someone to hold the camera while they're taping?

  • @ronaldbolen5685
    @ronaldbolen5685 Год назад

    That is not the Steering linkage grease point, that is the tilt tube grease point.
