    I'd say that having multiple launchers is an advantage over consoles instead of a problem, because it gives you more options. On console, if you're unsatisfied with the price of a game, you're shit out of luck, but on PC you can simply look for the same game on other launchers and save money by getting the game at a lower price.

      Careful he makes having options and choices sound bad. Yes we have multiple store fronts with included launchers. But what he doesn't know apparently is steam has a feature where you can add non steam games to the launcher, therefore 1 game launcher or when installing a game there's another feature that says save game to desktop and click the icon it'll load the launcher and game for you.
      Having options, choices, features, freedom, no generations to worry about cheaper games, more games get added virtually daily, best backwards compatibility and best of all no mandatory paid subscription service to play a game we paid for on the internet were paying for.

    Pc gaming is fun due to the flexibility that you have like adjusting game graphics to get the look and frame rate .The updates are point and click pretty easy .The sales are insane especially for new pc gamers you can buy collections for very little money and build a nice library . The worst part maybe games like GTA usually releases later on PC , but with the sales and money you save you will have more than enough games to play while waiting for it to release on PC . Through out the years I have gamed on both consoles and pc .Building is really cool especially if you have a friend or soemone that can help you if a problem arrises. If not prebuilts are not a bad way to go either . Overall it is a good experience .

    Few more missed out points to know before you switch to PC Gaming:
    1) When you switch over to PC, inculcate the habit of referring to two main columns in Game description - "Minimum required specifications" column and "Recommended specifications" column. This tells you where does your PC stand when it comes to playing the game. If your PC is having the specs as in Minimum, it means you can barely play the game in low to mediocre settings.
    This is where consoles look attractive! You just choose the game that you wanna play and your console is gonna run it at its best in your console for the next 5-7 years!
    2) Unlike consoles, players should know and will learn in due course, to tweak the game settings and play it as good as your PC permits.

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  Год назад +4

      This is true. You do need to be mindful if your PC can run a game. However, this is less and less of an issue these days. If you buy a modem PC system that even comes close to a console, then you can play any game that’s on a console. Games don’t run “their best” on a console. What’s happening is the developers are forced to make the game run on the hardware. So they have to modify and tweak all the settings to force it to run a certain way. But if your PC is better than a console, then you can run the game even better. The only “downside” is just having this knowledge. I never consider having knowledge as a downside. But that’s just me.

      It’s the same as console. Just make sure your PC is connected to the tv. Connect your controller to the PC(wirelessly) and sit on the couch. It’s the same experience. This video is for people who are not PC gamers but are considering switching from console to PC. If you have gamed on console your whole life, like myself, then using more than one UI to access your games is a bit of a shock. Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo all have dedicated one stop shops. There is a central access point to play all of your games on that console. But on PC there are multiple access points. For a new comer, this can be a bit confusing.

    The most important point has not been mentioned. If you want to play games and get those ''higher frames'' on newer AAA games, you WILL need to pay around 2x times the cost of a console. You WILL NEVER get a better quality/price than a console. A good and worth PC build that will last 5+ years while running big AAA games at high frame rates will cost you minimum 1000$ (a little less if you buy used''. Also, some of the most hyped games like GTA and all other Rockstar Games tend to release on PC a year after console.
    With that being said, if you understand that, and still want to change, PC has smoother gameplay and you feel more connected to your hardware since you built it. Also, playing fps games with keyboard mouse is way more fun that a controller.

    i want to go into pc gaming but to be honest i prefer my physical copies of games in my hand its just a preference i just love having the physical thing in my hand so all digital could be a potentional turn off for me i know pc is the best version of games in general but no physical media kind of scares me off to be honest because when its a digital download it makes me feel like i dont even own a actual game it feels more like a glorified rental to me but of course i think all digital is the future games as service is becoming the norm and consoles will probaly someday go all digital eventually so might have to get used and accept the fact physical media will probaly be completly dead soon so ill either have to be ok with with the games as a serice model and all digital future or just quit gaming all together or just stay behind in the past and be left behind and only buy games that were released before the all digital futre takes over.

      I personally like tinkering with my PC as well. I love building PCs. However, I didn’t say it was complicated. I said it was more complicated than a console. That is true and they don’t mean the same thing. Consoles are as easy as they come. They are plug and play. While tinkering with a PC may be fun and may not seem overly complicated in general, it is more work or more complicated than a console. Does that make sense? Am I missing something?

    Mouse keyboard or controller is a non issue on either platforms as you can choose what to play with nowadays.
    PCs cost waaaaay more
    PCs grant better performance
    PCs grant more customization/modding
    Consoles are more stable
    More and more games and console-focussed
    Consoles are more popular

    The advantage of key and mouse is they already rest on an table. You do not have to hold physically the mouse or keyboard in your hands and thus get tired from it. I could not imagine how in the world I would be able to hold for extended time periods an gaming controller in my hands. To much weight.
    What I do is I chose one single shooter game which will work with my Graphic card and just stick with it. Only 1 single game. It is on Epic in my case and the game is H&G from 2016ish.
    I experiment drops in fps and stutters on the game when my internet is slow. I never was on an console so no experience with an controller but I prefer mouse and mechanical keyboard.
    A good thing is the gaming PC is not so quickly outdate as an console since an console has as well only an CPU and GPU built in. An console is basically an drastically specked down PC limited to CPU, GPU, Drive and RAM - thats it.

    Nice topic you talked about well done brother . Recently I got myself a gaming PC to play WOW , then I decide to play other games that’s come on console such as ps4 . This is my final conclusion. I played the same game on both and I found it is much easier to start and play on ps4 than PC , is just you need certain application to run on PC before you play . Although I can get 144 FPS but I enjoy more play on 65 inch TV screen with 60 FPS . The other point , you can’t beat the price of Xbox S and game pass deal. Finally even if you get an upgrade to new console after 4 or 5 years still you will be able to play your current games on future console such as you can play ps4 games on ps5 . I guess if I am not a big fan of WOW then I will stick with Xbox S not even ps5 .

      We all have our preferences for sure. This video wasn’t about promoting console or PC. It was just about helping those people who are considering switching to PC. “Here are some things to consider.”
      With that said, you make valid points. I used to be a die hard console gamer. What I’ve come to realize is that both PC and console have advantages. So why not work to combine them and not have to choose?
      Recently, this has been my setup and I love it. My gaming device is my PC for the best performance. My monitor is a 48 inch LG OLED tv and I mostly use controller. Sometimes I’ll do mouse and keyboard but my main device is my Xbox One Elite Series 2 controller.
      So my point is definitely play what you want and how you want. But maybe consider bringing your favorite parts of console to your PC. I have a video about PC gaming on a 48 inch OLED tv. Maybe you will enjoy that! Thank you!

    If you was going from an Xbox series X wouldn't you need a to buy a 3070 which cost a lot of money? The bad thing about playing with a controller on PC is in competitive games you probably will get matched up with PC players that are using a keyboard instead of console players? I think the idea of having different launchers is pretty cool. Deals? But I'm sticking to my Xbox because I don't want to work on a PC or if it gets a virus then I have to take it to the shop. My buddy just had updated something on call of duty and he had to delete the whole call of duty game and redownload everything because the game was messing up.

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  Год назад +1

      I can tell there is a lot you don’t understand about PCs. That’s fine. What happened to your buddy isn’t common. That does not always happen. Once you know what to do, PCs can operate with little to no issues just like consoles.
      You do not need a 3070 to match an Xbox Series X. All you need is a 6700 or 6700 xt or 3060. You can buy a 3070 for just under $500 right now. The other cards are even cheaper than that. As for controller, not exactly. Most multiplayer games these days support cross play with console. Usually, the lobbies are separated by controller and mouse and keyboard. So if you are on PC and use controller, you can choose to only match with other controller players. Sometimes lobbies are mixed. Then that is also ok because aim assist is usually implemented as well. In Halo Infinite, I use controller and play against mouse and keyboard players all the time. I dominate. It’s not a problem. These rules are game dependent.

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  2 года назад

      Restfully disagree. For fastest boot times, you want as many things turned off on boot as possible. I’ll open something as I need it. Otherwise, it’s a waste of resources. Secondly, opening a launcher is exactly like opening an app on your phone. Lol. It’s an application and you click it to open it. Not sure what you were trying to say there. Lastly, I have no clue why so many people are upset that I briefly spoke about launchers being a small negative. I never said it was the worse thing ever. But yeah man it’s annoying when every time I turn around I need another application or another launcher to play a game. By the way, the recent GTA games couldn’t be played on launch day because the Rockstar launcher went down. Even when you launch it through steam, it depends on the rockstar launcher to be working. So too many launchers is a roadblock no matter how you want to look at it. I understand why we have them. I understand why some people think they are great. But as a general consumer, it’s not in your best interest to load up your PC with so many applications. The idea of this video was to simply inform people about the launchers before they moved from console gaming to PC gaming. It’s like a heads up tip. Not saying don’t switch because of it. UMM, I still buy physical copies of PC games. The more popular games normally release with a physical copy available. I don't see much of a difference between pc and console gaming. PC gaming has slowly but surely been moving towards being console-like. Plus on console, you have a lot of updates whether it's firmware or game updates. At the time of this video, best to get a pre-built if you get into pc gaming. Custom builds are near impossible to build at a decent price.

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  3 года назад +1

      Yeah I agree about the pre-built PC. I made a video on pre-built vs custom. And I recommended going with pre-built for the same reason as you said.
      As for physical PC games, I have no idea what you’re taking about. I haven’t seen a physical copy of a PC game in years. They are still around for older games of course. But for the new ones, almost everyone buys them digitally. The closest I have seen for new games being physical is a box with a code lol. Sorry, I guess I should have been more specific about that in the video. But I mean a box with a digital code is still getting the game digitally.

    Yall need to stop 😂😂😂😂
    Plug in your console hook it up and your in??? 😂😂 so modern consoles dont need updates when you first start it up for the first time and setup an account? Weird cuz 100% positive they do. Consoles also have mandatory updates. The only time i update my gpu driver is when a game requires me to update it to play it and thats no where near as frequent as console firmware updates. I havent touched any other drivers myself since the initial ones when i first built it.
    And that gpu driver literally takes 1-2 min in download and install, significantly faster than any console firmware update. Consoles also require controller driver updates.
    Having multiple launchers is not necessarily a bad thing either. Its a perk consoles dont have its called options and choices, oh man i missed the steam sale let me go check gog and epic one may be running their own sale. Well crap no sales hmmm key sites always have discounts and the keys are usually for steam anyway. Having choices and options is not a bad thing.
    We cant stand having options of multiple storefront launchers?? No we cant stand epics business model so we rather not use epic. Oh btw You can add non steam games to the steam launcher btw not sure if you figured that out yet 😅 again options and feautures are not a bad thing and this is why steam is king and the preferred it has features others dont offer.

    #1 is a big turn off for me especially now . If you dont have a physical copy you dont own it. Which is a huge problem for me... im tired of sony refuse to buy an x box ( red ring of death made me permanently vow to never buy an x box) and i own a switch. But ff14 runs so smooth and i love making twink profiles on any dark souls and love that you can get apex to run at 100+ fps. So pc is appealing to me but the whole " you dont technically own this" is what turns me off big time . To be fair ff14 is pure digital anywho but dark souls rainbow 6 and many others i can own physically but on pc i literally own nothing... help me understand maybe im missing something.
    PS. If you are just going to comment some negative crap dont bother . Need real help to make my final decision. Held off on ps5 until the scalpers cant profit off me.

      You got it pretty much right. The vast majority of PC games released within the past decade have been digital only. Even the games that still shipped "physically" usually only contained a part of the game on a few DVDs and you had to download the rest of it or just a redemption code. There is a game retailer called GOG -Good old Games that sells digital games but without DRM protection. That means you do actually own the game and install it as many times as you want without needing to activate the games. They have a large selection, but not all games are available.

    While the multiple launchers are a hassle, the plus side to them are that they are what creates competitive pricing in the all digital space of buying games. That's the downside to an all digital console because it's all in one store front so if you have just the one console, you are more limited on what is going to be discounted pricewise. I've had numerous occasions where I've looked on one launcher/storefront for a game and found it at a better price on a different website. And those have to compete with places like newegg and gamestop for their digital code prices. I think it will truly be a downside if they all decided to monopolize and sell PC games through one service much like xbox, playstation and nintendo do.

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  Год назад +1

      I had someone else write a similar comment to me before. The first time I didn’t have a good reply. But now I do. I’m all for competition and lower prices for gamers. However, the requirement of multiple launchers is not what drives that competition. It’s the existence of store fronts that drive the competition. Let me explain. I have plenty of games on epic that I got from their free monthly games. But I don’t buy my games on epic. I rarely buy games on Steam. But most of the library is on Steam. Why? Because I buy my keys from third party game key websites which act as a store front. In fact, some of these websites are more of a store front than some launchers. For example, the rockstar launcher only offers rockstar games. It’s not a “full” store. But a key website like green man gaming or CD keys offer a full store and therefore competition and therefore cheaper prices. Bottom line is we can have 1 launcher and still get cheap games.

    I don’t understand why your making multiple launchers a con towards PC gaming? You hav options, something that console gaming doesn’t. That’s the main reason y I switched from console to PC. I hate how much Microsoft an PlayStation, ESPECIALLY Nintendo limits their consumers.
    With PC you hav more options to get whatever game you’d like. What if one launcher is selling the game at a discount, this one has achievements, etc.
    Why limit yourself, being stuck under either Microsoft or PlayStation thumb an be spoon feed things?

    • @ErockOnTech
      @ErockOnTech  2 года назад

      As for the launcher thing. I think you might be missing the point here. You’re like the 5th person to comment about the launcher point.
      So to clarify, I fully support competition on all levels. Competition is good for the consumer. This is true in any market.
      However, there are two things that need to be clarified here.
      1. This video is targeted at newcomers to PC gaming. That means for people who have never gamed on PC and who have no idea how it works. So if you game on console your whole life and then randomly switch one day; yeah it can be daunting to realize you have many launchers as opposed to only one. That is the reason for the point in this video. This is a thing to know before you switch to PC gaming.
      2. Launchers are not the only way to have better pricing in gaming. Simply being on the PC platform already gives me options. Sure, you can buy games on Steam or Epic. But there are sites you can buy games from that are often way cheaper than the launchers. So in theory, you could have one launcher and still have competition on prices. The sites I am talking about is Greenman gaming, CD Keys, and fanatical to name a few.
      The launcher issue isn’t as much of an issue for me as it used to be. But it would be nice to have one clean user interface for launching games. Then I can use one of the sites listed above to purchase my games.
