I always thought the Sony looked a little ,,corporate'' so I prefer the Pyxis footage (especially if you use an arri LUT in davinci) and grading RAW is obviously awesome!
@@lennymarti Very nice! People talk about the dynamic range of the FX3 being higher than 13 stops but it can only theoretically output 16-bit in its specs. I am not sure if the dynamic range is for 16-bit or not. The Ninja's can only handle 12-bit. I always preferred the ProRes RAW footage compared to S-LOG3 when I didn't need super low light. RAW video just looked "better." I assume BRAW is as good as ProRes RAW and I will not miss the menu on the FX3 when I get the PYXIS. Looking forward to using BRAW in DaVinci too.
I don’t think most people should buy the Pyxis camera. I think it’s better to spend a little more money and get a Sony FX6. If you film with both of them side-by-side, you will notice they look very similar. The Pyxis doesn’t give any magical fairy dust to the image that makes it more cinematic than the Sony. And the Sony has a lot of great features like auto focus and the built-in N D that will be useful at some point in your career. I don’t get the reason to purchase the Pyxis at all in fact. If one wants a more cinematic organic image, you’re probably better off getting a Nikon Z6IiI.
I just appreciate the Open Gate for shooting Anamorphic which Sony just doesn’t have. As well as being able to shoot RAW in camera which for this price is great..
@ yes. The Pyxis has some nice features. Blackmagic raw is nice, not true raw because it does partial de-bayering before the compression. You can shoot true internal raw on a Nikon Z6III and you can buy today for $2300 dollars. And it has great auto focus. Now the only thing better for Pyxis is that it looks like a more professional camera. Great video.
The FX6 doesn’t have a full frame sensor, it’s a cropped sensor. The Pyxsis gives you a number of formats to work with within that 3:2 ratio. You can use a number of lenses thanks to the L mount and the availability of adapters . BRAW works seamlessly with Da Vinci Resolve. Autofocus does feature on the PYXSIS it’s just not continuous , but with a firmware update that can be made more versatile. Autofocus is a blessing and a curse. You can rig out the PyXSIS and get a full metal jacket cage from XCLS. The BM UI is a no brainer. BM have responded to customer feedback for a cube camera that they can use as they wish .
Nice video. How are you liking the image quality compared to the Sony?

I bought one. But not sure what I will do with it yet.
Is the Focus Pro fully compatible with the Pyxis? Can you trigger record.
the focus pro works flawlessly! However I don't think you can trigger record.
@@lennymarti That's a shame. I think it is supported on some of the other BM Cinema Cameras.
@@halogenic in that case im gonna check cause im not sure
Was testing yesterday in studio; you need a USB-C connection to trigger record right now , but it does work.
which Camera you'll suggest to a beginner who shoots GRWM and instaa reels from an iPhone and wanted to upgrade his quality to one step up !
is the Sony a7iii (used) in your budget?
@lennymarti if it is not, which you'll prefer out of Sony?
I'll like which I can easily understand ISO, aperture etc
@@Raees_Aurangzaib I'd really save up for the a7iii but maybe the ZV-1 works for you?
@@lennymarti I think that will work !
hello, can we sponsor one of your videos?
hit me up on instagram lenny.marti :)

My man fx 6 is not even in the same league. It's 6000 dollars while this is 3000 dollars.
