It was slightly more clipped in one shot on the fx3 but the sun had obviously gone down more when it came time for the venice. FX3 CAN do timecode with the right cable. You end up using the micro usb port. But I as a sound guy will never complain about a TC BNC, It's a great standard/connector.
The FX3 is a 10-bit depth camera and the capture at sensor level is probably the same. I don't think it's image will benefit too much from recording in Braw besides the control of parameters like ISO, Temperature, exposure, etc. But the image is more thick on the Pyxis because it records at 12-bit at sensor level, not 10-bit which is a limitation on the FX3 (hence the difference in size, cooling and power consumption between the two).
The anamorphic comparison was surprising 🤯! This sounds ridiculous, but a run and gun comparison with the Pyxis would be fun haha. I’m definitely a run and gun kind of shooter, but I dig gear so cameras are fun 😂
Hi, I’m planning to get the Pyxis. I currently have a BMPCC 4K with a Sigma 18-35mm and a Sigma 50mm f/1.4, both from the Art series. Would you recommend getting the EF mount? I can still get a refund on the Sigma lenses and possibly sell all my BMPCC 4K gear to invest in the Cinema Lenses Kit (KIT 4 VDSLR MK2 24mm/35mm/50mm/85mm, Full Frame, Canon EF). What I’m aiming for is to get high-quality cinema lenses at a good price. I think the EF mount would be the best choice for that. I primarily create social media content, so with the EF mount, I could also use a Canon 5D Mark IV and the lenses I currently have.
