Wow, thanks, Jason. I'm still wandering in the woods with my dm48, using a simple link to an ipad and heavy brass. No way could I have figured this out myself. Fantastic, I even understand what you have there since you are going so well - step by step! BTW I enjoy your recordings and I highly recommend them. They are in my regular travelling playlist, i.e., what I listen to when I'm driving. (Doug Tanner)
The results are outstanding as a controller. And you sir sound incredible with it. It's just a shame that it's so huge. On stage at a show I just don't think I could pull it off.
My setup now is simply an iPad on a mic stand, a shelf to place the DM48 and a chromatic, with a goosneck mic attachment. As a lifetime bass player this is the easiest rig I’ve ever had! I use a Roland Cube EX amp even in larger clubs, it has a number of direct outs, and works as a monitor when I’m going through the P.A.and is easily carried by hand.
Hi Jason.. since DM48x is now bluetooth enabled to free us from all the wires, it is great but i see your setup is still all wired up and i dont see you leveraging on the bluetooth function. Pls explain. My hope with DM48X is to bluetooth straight into my sound mixer via bluetooth and that will be swell.
It works well with bluetooth, there is a very slight latency, but extremely minimal. But I use a wire with my MIDI controller, so wired isn’t a big deal. I also wanted to show how a DM48 (the earlier version) could be set up.

How well does it work if you connect the DM48X to the iPad wirelessly? Is the latency ok?
