If it only shows the ethernet option you could try going to settings and then go to network and Internet then scroll down you'll see an option of network reset, it will reset your laptop and the WiFi will work, keep in mind that I'm using Windows 10 and that all laptops are different, but just give it a try

I recently got this problem although your solution didn´t work (beacause the bios menu was newer) it gave me an idea where to look for. I found and option that let the system manage the wlan connection by "switch" (refering to the physical button to enable/disable wifi but my laptop doesn't has this physical button), I disable it, then I turned on the wifi on the OS and it worked!

Go to device manager- network adapters - here you can see all network adapters in your pc. Right click on each and every one of these and Unistall (nb: while Unistalling don't delete it). Now go to Action Tab of device manager - scan for hardware changes - deleted adapters will reapear now. Now restart and check if adapters are shown in network connection.

i have a different problem. the problem is that my internet/wifi disconnects randomly and sometimes disconnects like every 10 seconds non-stop. ever since that problem occured it made me mad. please make a video with some things that could fix it or cause it at least. ive tried to use trouble shoot. and the only problems i am gettings is that i need an ethernet cable (litterly why do i need that i dont need them) and something about hotspot or domain issue thingy.
