Thanks, Rob! I learned a lot about the behavior of the interrelated tools and didn't know how creatively I can use the local adjustments to create an exposure adjusted vignette. I was missing that and you have made me value the software even more!

Happy to help. If it wasn't obvious, you can do a dark vignette by dialing in -4 and inverting the mask.

That's very interesting, Rob. My signature as a photographer is very dark images using partial colour. As such, my images are almost monochrome, but have an added richness because they're not fully desaturated. Just watching yet another of your easy to understand tutorials has given me inspiration to try some new possibilities. Great video.

Thanks, Rick. You just reminded me I forgot to show how easy it is to do partial color via the HSL tool.

@Rob Trek I think that 'partial colour' requires a whole video. Far more to it than simply adjusting the sliders. It certainly works best with 'dark and moody' atmospheric images that were captured with the intent of printing them in partial colour.

Nice video. Love DXO. Been wondering whether the upgrade to version six is worth the cost.

    • @RobTrek

I think if you have PL-5, maybe wait until PL-7. PL-6 has nice upgrades with the new color gamut, prime xd, and perspective tools. If you need these things, then upgrading makes sense. These are subtle changes for most but can be a big deal for professional work. I have videos for the color gamut and perspective tools that can help you decide.

There seems to be some audio distortion on this video, not on your previous Ask Rob Treks.

Yes, I'm working on some new audio settings. I should have double checked. Also, my voice did crack a few times on it's own.

@@RobTrek On your new E-M5 Mark III tutorial, the sound seems corrected and excellent.
