This is an AMAZING tutorial! I feel like you packed a semester's worth of info into 20 minutes. Thanks so much for making everything clear and easy to understand.
Only recently started looking at Affinity and was unsure how functionaly rich it was compared to the Adobe products. After watching this tutorial I am now convinced that Affinity is the right way to go whilst having a much more user friendly interface and as much functionality than the others. Thank you very much, and am now subscribed with notifications on. Cheers !
I do not think I have seen any tutorial about the Develop settings with a clear explanation of what the specific tools do. As far as I can tell, this is the only one. I discovered plenty of new tools that I had never used before. Kudos!
This video includes one of the BEST explanations of the curves panel I've ever seen. I've watched many "how to" tutorials, but that curves section was detailed in exactly the right way to finally make me understand how red/blue/green curves are used in editing. Thanks!
New to Affinity. Was looking for a tutorial to help me develop my own workflow for processing RAW files. I was flipping back and forth between your video, paused from time to time, and working on a sample image. This is very, very good. Liked and subscribed. Thank you.
Superbly explained. I have been using Affinity Photo since it’s launch and have viewed some excellent tutorials from great presenters. The clear explanation of each tool will improve my developing procedures many of which reduce the editing required in Photo Persona.
Yeah I'm sharing this video to my friends since we just bought Affinity Photo. Very simple and informative tutorial that highlights all the points of editing RAW photos. You just earned a subscriber
Excellent video!!! I am very new to affinity and never used photoshop. You explained things very well. I am still confused about saving photos and exporting photos. When I followed your save example my photo went back to the folder it came from. I understand that but what if I want to save it in another file folder of just affinity edits that I can go straight to instead of hunting in the folder it came from. Hope I made myself clear.
Absolutely great video, thanks for going into detail about the tools. I've really been having such a hard time with editing my photos. One question I have starting with a raw photo in Affinity Develop Persona, in the "Develop Assistant" would you change any of those settings. Specifically would you select "Take no action" for the noise reduction, tone curve, or exposure bias? Thanks for you time.
Are the clipped mid tones always in the darker part of the image or were they just in this example. I'm new to editing raw photos and the clipped tones are something I never seem to be able to correct. The clipped highlights and blacks are obvious, but the clipped tones are confusing.
Thanks so much. I only shoot JPEG so for me, the Develop mode didn't open up by default. It didn't occur to me that the icons at the top were buttons. Glad to have your footage.
Two quick things: even just having the split screen on while you edit is a great idea. 👍 And secondly, minor point - how did you get the icons on the overlays tab to be in colour? I'm sure mine are black and white. Good video, cheers. 👍
Hello Mike! I found you on affinity photo facebook group that we both follow 😊 I like the way you explain things and I just love that app and I use it a lot for my RUclips channel especially the thumbnails and I've learned a lot. Still got a lot to learn ! I'm subscribing and dinging the bell for you😊🌹 Waiting for more videos from you here ! Have a great day ! Michael
I am looking how to do a workflow from scratch in Affinity Photo as I have pulled out of Adobe CC monmths ago. I found this video to be of great interest but will have to watch it a few times as it was too fast for me. I am 77 years of age so I am at an age now where new tricks are learned slowly.
If this is just a taste of your tutorial for this topic, I have to say, you're are Fucking Awesome! Thank You a Kazillian times over. I learned so damn much in this 20 min video than all of the other Affinity Photo tutorials.
I swapped out the link - hopefully it works now. The site I got the photo from doesn't share links to its photos. You basically have to scroll through all the photos and find the one you want to use. It's a bit annoying but the photos are great.
"Develop Persona" Oh, cool. I haven't opened any RAW images in Affinity Photo yet. I had a Fuji X-T30 and was playing around with a pirated copy of Capture One. It's crazy how this app replaces Photoshop, Illustrator, and Lightroom for $50. It'll serve me well to learn this program inside and out.

THANK YOU sooo much for this tutorial! Finally someone explaining affinity in a great and easy way from start to finish! :)
Thank you for explaining WHY and not just HOW to make changes. Very helpful.

Hello there. Great tutorial. I have learnt loads especially overlays tool. Brilliant. Thank you.
You've made me a raw convert for my landscape images -- kids parties stay as jpegs. Thanks!
I was ready to ditch AP and go back to PS, not so sure now, great video.

this was exactly was I was needing. Thank you. I would love to lear how to remove unwanted things in you photo with Affinity.
Excellent and clear info which I have now started to use. Many Thanks
Very good. Easy to follow. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for watching!
Really like your teaching style and approach, just switched to Affinity and I'm doing a comparison to LR, this was very useful - Thankyou
Thanks James!
I agree. Easy to follow and to the point. Thank you.
Do you even know today if do you had exposure correction and tone curve correction on and what do you have adjusted rgb on?
Definitely subscribing !
great tutorial, question how i export something like 50 photos at once into affinity photos? is gonna take me forever to tweak/reatouch 50 photos
Thanks so much. I only shoot JPEG so for me, the Develop mode didn't open up by default. It didn't occur to me that the icons at the top were buttons. Glad to have your footage.
Glad I could help - thanks for watching.
Why is there yellow artifacting on the "After" side throughout the video?
Where can I purchase numerous raw-format photos? Help appreciated.

It helped me to watch on iPhone or iPad with affinity opened on laptop. Don’t know if you have either of those available to you but it sure helped me.
Will Affinity Photo Process Canon's CR3 files?
Thank you Sir!!!! Splendid!!!!
THANK YOU SOUL MUCH FOR THIS !!!!
Learnt so much, excellent!
I notice the speed of your computer. Could you advise the RAM size needed for efficient processing.
I have 16 gb ram... Seems to get the job done
@@ProPhotoVector Thank you it shows. I bought 8gb RAM 10 yrs ago when I look at PCs and Laptops 16gb is still costly.
Good one!........very comprehensive.
This seems a lot simpler than Darktable. Which is better?
This tutorial is not "too terrible" :D
Awesome...
