When this first came out, I sent a letter to the US record company (Amazon says Time Bomb so I guess I'm wrong remembering it as TVT or Interscope) asking for a tape of the video since it was so rarely on TV. I just saw it one time on MTV's Amp. Sure enough, about a week later, they sent me a tape of this for free. I've loved Death In Vegas since and this is still one of my all-time favorite music videos.
I remember when this was played in heavy rotation on MTV. You know, back when MTV actually was a music channel? I was around 12 at the time. This video used to creep me out, but I eventually bought the album.
first heard this song when it came out when I was recovering from a brain tumour. i felt up to listening to music again and heard this, and I was open mouthed. It was one of the songs that inspired me to make music and still do what I'm doing now. distorted bass, a phat beat and old school hip hop lyrics can't go wrong!
Over 10 years later & this track still rules!! Just popped into my gead a few days ago, out of nowhere. Downloaded it right away. Almost forgot how much I liked this song & the album it was on.
" the man next to you is your brother, and you damn well better treat each other that way 'cause if you don't then we blow the whole thing 'cause we got it right there."
One of the best video of all time for me. Thank goodness for youtube, because I remember waiting in the late hours of the night at my tv hoping that they'd run it on Alt Nation again so that I'd tape it on my VCR
I remember buying the CD compilation that had this on it back in the mid-90's.....The video is unreal - whoever made this certainly had some incredible psychedelics to even conjure this video.....
One of my old time favorite songs [that I still listen to religously since it first came out believe it or not], and of course one of my old time favorite music videos ever made by director Andrea Giacobe. I just love everything about it especially all the symbolism and meanings, I love Death In Vegas! ;)
Oh...that's right, MTV DID play music at one time! Wow, imagine a channel called "Music Television" playing music instead of Jersey Shore reruns! What a concept!
I remember seeing this video when it made heavy rotation on MTV. (I think I was maybe 12 at the time? I'm 26 now) First time I saw this video, it freaked me out. About 3 years later, I finally started to appreciate the music and got the album.
That little girl who keeps changing 2 a goth horror zombie girl - how ADORABLE iz she? She must ov had SO much fun in make-up... I wonder how old they all r now... Beautiful video.. xoxoxo
i've never seen such fantastic video since nine inch nails. I love Trent Reznor so much, but these london boys are much much much better! Many years i listen to this track (in audio) at midnight (in my AKG271 earphones). Guys are brilliant music makers! Perfect video, pure perfect music! It's etalon, quintessence of music and music video. If they want me to do anything - i'll do it without any doubts, i obey to death in vegas guys!
Thinking about all the old videos that i had seen when MTV2 was cool...this was one of them. This junk is just flat out crazy. You just cant take your eyes off of it lol
Actually all the commentary in the song are clips from the Woodstock concert. I think its Wavy Gravy saying "what's that spell". The crowd response is just them cheering.
When you hear that bassline as a kid, years later you still remember it as intensive you heard it back in the day.
the best type of earworm

VHS, shitty Sony xbass 2.1 doesn't get any better
This was on TV about 3 times a day in Australia when it came out.
i still have the promo vhs tape
Well in South American MTV I saw them for some weeks in Alternative Nation only with Aphex Twin. do you remember?
Cool! I wish something like this had happened to me in the 90’s ;)
I remember when this was played in heavy rotation on MTV. You know, back when MTV actually was a music channel? I was around 12 at the time. This video used to creep me out, but I eventually bought the album.
Well, what if MTV were never a music channel?
I think it was always part of agenda. When the time was right they showed their real faces.
this never gets old ..
Can you imagine aliens accidently picking this shit up on their tele-screens. They gonna run a fucking mile.
Man, I'm so glad I was a teenager in the 90s.
Me too😅
The 90s were the last decade of good music and videos in history... shit I really miss that era!!!!
A masterpiece directed by Andrea Giacobbe 😊
excellent !
Yes, also directed Push it by Garbage.
Still a banger
The 90`s were crazy 😁

One of the best music videos ever made.
Come to daddy by Aphex Twin is also great
Over 10 years later & this track still rules!! Just popped into my gead a few days ago, out of nowhere. Downloaded it right away. Almost forgot how much I liked this song & the album it was on.
21 YEARS!
DIV were killin it back in the 90s
" the man next to you is your brother, and you damn well better treat each other that way 'cause if you don't then we blow the whole thing 'cause we got it right there."
That’s a powerful statement moves me every time I hear it.
I think this is the most beautiful video ever made actually.
20 bloody years ago!!!!!
Luvie1980 I was 1

Aaaah, back in late 90´s - this is really s.ic.k song!! Great!! Thanx!!

Could be worse...you could be imbibing chemicals and watching The Chemical Brother's 'Believe'.
Oh...that's right, MTV DID play music at one time! Wow, imagine a channel called "Music Television" playing music instead of Jersey Shore reruns! What a concept!
Death In Vegas are still around. Created their own record label and produced a new album. Just needs mixing. Due 2011/2012 according to sources.
Very good
The hotel scene in the movie VERY BAD THINGS brought me here...
I freaking love that there are woodstock samples in here :D
Man, I love the 90s aesthetic, it's like gazing into the future, even now that we're already in the future, in 2021
Every time i watch this... it's the godlike music and hell-like video. Quintessenttial product.
Such a great party starter! Once that Bassline kicks in, you'll see magical beat-unicorns!
maybe the deepest greatest video ever in the dark category
I remember I discovered this video on the MTV show "12 Angry Viewers."
y Sigue siendo Impresionante Actualmente
Still one of the most inspiring video's I've ever seen.
How 90s is this!?!
TOTALLY.
But cool ❤
Since "'waking up' this video is more terrifying than it was when I first saw it
There was always something oddly dangerous about this song - great track
Finally! A music video that makes sense.
10/10 album!
Still so funky
Gritty Dirty Weird and Trippy... LOVE IT!
fearless is a genius, so talented.
I LOV THIS SONG
I've seen this music video a while back and I know DiV but now that I put the track and video together I am so happy
I remember seeing this video when it made heavy rotation on MTV. (I think I was maybe 12 at the time? I'm 26 now) First time I saw this video, it freaked me out. About 3 years later, I finally started to appreciate the music and got the album.
Forgotten how good this track was. First time I've seen the vid. Brilliant.
It was filmed in Paris. It was Andrea Giacobbe's first video.
Remember this song back in 1997 ;-) ;-)
Amen to that!
Memories
The weekend has landed! (c)
Mee too! :D
90s was epic!
That little girl who keeps changing 2 a goth horror zombie girl - how ADORABLE iz she? She must ov had SO much fun in make-up... I wonder how old they all r now... Beautiful video.. xoxoxo
thats so true.
Great
Always dug the song, hadn't seen the visuals before. The video... may have damaged my brain. Woah. Great stuff!
Forever will be 411VM's Girl And Chocolate Eurotour soundtrack.
It's my favorite music video too. In fact I look to this video for artistic inspiration. It's perfect. :)
The spoken word parts are from the Woodstock Soundtrack if I'm not mistaken.
you are not mistaken. :)
Yesss right 😍👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I get blazed and rock this shit!
The clip was filmed where I live in France :D
Really? It's not Russia?
"Very Bad Things" brought me here !
Tune
Oh the videos MTV use to play in the late 90's.I remember seeing this on 12 Angry Viewers.
Troppo fico ancora fico!!!
Band to video director:yeah we're just gonna spike your coffee with LSD shrooms n shit, we'll leave the rest up to you

Rolon!!!!
Turn speed to 1.25 and dance!
Punch y peso!
Whenever I hear this song, I IMMEDIATELY think Soul Flyers and their incredible BASE jumps!
' Dead Elvis', Slammin ''
thevisitor, what do you mean by Dead Elvis,?
I still have nightmares about this video...but they are pretty badass nightmares!!!
i've never seen such fantastic video since nine inch nails. I love Trent Reznor so much, but these london boys are much much much better! How prophetic is this..?
@TheZochor Yep, it's country joe at the start of his performance of 'Feel like I'm fixing to die'
genius
Soul Flyers
love this video. how would they have explained it before they made it???
Most Agrressive video-art ever seen
heard it for the first time
on old Chemical brothers compilation
quite the exposition in juxtapositions
@spacepenny No, but! Interesting thing. The guy who did work on the Cell worked on Losing My Religion by REM.
i think that it's from Orwell's animal farm and 1984 symbolism.
Thinking about all the old videos that i had seen when MTV2 was cool...this was one of them. This junk is just flat out crazy. You just cant take your eyes off of it lol
oh dear
This video always reminded me of NIN Closer.
watching old ECW tapes brought me here lol
amazing song! FUCKING AMAZING VIDEO!!!!!
Actually all the commentary in the song are clips from the Woodstock concert. I think its Wavy Gravy saying "what's that spell". The crowd response is just them cheering.
music to fuck by
