James Lavelle aka UNKLE is definitely a groundbreaker and explorer. His creations and mixes create soundscapes that take one to dimensions. Saw him play in Munich back in '17, absolutely great!

I like the sounds in this track, and I am aware that DJ Shadow is someone who specializes in resampling old music, I want to track the origin of the sounds.
In year, maybe, 2004, been a student, got my first work, and from first salary bought my first mp3 player (iRiver) and a pirate CD with collection of trip-hop music. Player was on 128 mb, it held about 15-16 tracks with 128-256 bitrate, and i and I regularly deleted annoying tracks and uploaded new. But THIS song was untouchable.
I was a kid, I left home and went live alone, this video was playing as new music on the tv while I was moving my stuff to that super small, super expensive apartment. I feel like I'm there again every time I see this video, I was so hopefull
I recorded this when MTV was great back in 1999 , on VHS used to rewind it and play it over and over and over before youtube, my favorite for a Sunday afternoon or any other day
Even though I've known and love UNKLE for years and specially this song, I think this is the first time I see the video to the very end...what a surprise!

QUOTE "The lyrics of UNKLE's song Be There have a haunting and introspective quality, with a sense of urgency and concern for someone the singer cares about. The song seems to be about the singer's desire to protect and guide a loved one who is struggling and falling apart. The lyrics "You don't want to go there, let me lead you by the hand. You don't want to be there, over the sea and down to land" seem to indicate a sense of urgency and a desire to help someone who is facing a difficult situation. The singer seems to have found a way to connect with this person and offer them some comfort and support, saying "I found the way to get inside you, I'd give you peace of mind" in the chorus. There is a sense of tenderness and care in the way the lyrics are delivered, with a soft and mournful tone that emphasizes the concern and empathy behind the words. Overall, the song Be There is a poignant and emotional expression of love and concern for someone who is struggling, with a strong sense of empathy and a desire to help and guide them through a difficult time." QUOTE ""Be There" by UNKLE is a song that expresses the idea of leading someone away from a negative or undesirable situation. The lyrics suggest that the speaker wants to guide the listener, as they don't want them to experience something unpleasant. The song talks about finding a way to connect with the listener, to "get inside" and offer them peace of mind. The repetition of the phrase "I might see you falling" indicates the speaker's concern for the listener's well-being, but also their belief that they can prevent them from falling or experiencing hardship. The chorus repeats the idea that sometimes the speaker does or doesn't see the listener falling, emphasizing the ambiguity of the situation. The lyrics also mention going over the sea and down to land, which could be a metaphorical journey or an invitation to explore new places and experiences. Towards the end of the song, the lyrics mention feeling corrupted and fighting for free will. This suggests that the speaker might be struggling with internal conflicts or external pressures. The song ends with a plea for understanding and asking how the listener feels. Overall, the meaning of "Be There" is open to interpretation, but it seems to convey a sense of protection, guidance, and concern for someone's well-being. The song may also touch upon themes of personal growth, the challenges of making choices, and the potential for internal struggles."

What you mean by DJ Shadow sounds? Please give a link to other video for the reference.
I like the sounds in this track, and I am aware that DJ Shadow is someone who specializes in resampling old music, I want to track the origin of the sounds.
thank you so much. Dj Shadow the one who rules here
James lavelle too.. he's the guy who signed Josh Davis (shadow) here in the UK. He was the other half of U.N.K.LE.
@@stephenlivesey6980 The truth is actually he is alone. He collaborated with Shadow only for that album.
A sound and vibe essential to the evolution of Radiohead and Kid A, electronic music done right. Love this era.
Probably the best intro scene ever made .. that camera going backwards .. puts You in the mood .. Cheers ! ;)

What a tune. Always remember when the video was released. Lots of well deserved hype
I recorded this when MTV was great back in 1999 , on VHS used to rewind it and play it over and over and over before youtube, my favorite for a Sunday afternoon or any other day
did the same, and even had a back up in case it wears out
I was waiting for this video in a good quality for years! Thanks!
Same here - at last

That greenish colour grade is like sewww 1999-2000! I bought the single of this.
Even though I've known and love UNKLE for years and specially this song, I think this is the first time I see the video to the very end...what a surprise!
Absolutely fabulous track/song I love Ians voice!
Watching top gear and they used this beat. Immediately, the whispers of the lyrics came back. Not heard this in many years. Such a gem of a track.

I pay no mind
I found the way
To get inside you

mystic song and video
He could have got no one better than Ian Brown to wing the lyrics to this masterpiece. Amazing song by the way.

QUOTE
"The lyrics of UNKLE's song Be There have a haunting and introspective quality, with a sense of urgency and concern for someone the singer cares about.
Overall, the song Be There is a poignant and emotional expression of love and concern for someone who is struggling, with a strong sense of empathy and a desire to help and guide them through a difficult time."
QUOTE
""Be There" by UNKLE is a song that expresses the idea of leading someone away from a negative or undesirable situation.
Bless the 90s when there were no neural networks to produce this junk.
Excellent video and the song gives very dark vibes

Great vocal by Ian Brown
The green tint always makes me think this was filmed in The Matrix.
