I think the reason that the video of your trip was so successful, is because it was genuine. Your struggles with blisters and the heat were so obvious and relatable to anyone who has done any walking that we all felt sorry for you, yet we were willing you on and so pleased that you made it through. Your obvious love of the countryside, the villages, the pubs and the people shone through and let’s face it, who doesn’t enjoy visitors to our country, enjoying themselves. However, I think the one thing that endeared you to us was your obvious affection towards each other. You both seem such genuinely nice people and it shone through. Thank you and good luck for your next adventure, wherever that may be.
And the winner of the best travel vlog of 2023 goes to….Watched all now, amazing scenery, well filmed, insightful info, great beer, nice sheep and such a bright self-effacing couple allowing us to see the pleasure and pain of a long wander through the English countryside. Try the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge, 24.5m in a day, steep as chuff.
Awwwh! You complaining about the pain made it sooooo relatable, Rachael. You were both lovely and it was like walking with friends. Except we would have stayed in the pubs for longer, needed a nap and arrived at the next place in the dark😂😂😂😂😂
We loved watching you two lovely people hike across the Cotswold Way, on Mark from the States' channel and winced with you when we realised how blistered your feet were and, then, how your hips hurt. What a heroine you were to carry on! AND you kept your lovely smile. You could hire a narrowboat and journey along some of the MANY canals that criss-cross the country. Tie up at a local pub, visit places around each stop. Eat out or cook on the boat. Take the dog too. Make your way to Wales, the Peak District. The English had many canals dug in the seventeen hundreds to early eighteen hundreds to carry goods from one place to another and to ports. We have more canals now than Venice. The digging had to stop when we invented railways. The canals fell into disrepair, but back in the seventies people came together to work to make the canals viable again. Check them out on YT. It's just a suggestion and, remember, you were lucky here with the weather! Just saying 😉
You two are in the best years of your lives!, you have the finest of possessions anyone could have, namely, an obviously great relationship together and an enjoyable life I am sure. You both gave your bodies (feet etc..) a thorough “shakedown” to use a navy expression, and any problems of any sort of worrying nature would surely have manifested themselves, but happily you both have passed that test in fine style. Thank you for revealing the great beauty of this part of my land ❤
Having a beer in a pub at lunch is, technically speaking, research, and one should never pass up an opportunity to expand one's knowledge! These vids have brought back memories of a family cycling holiday up and down those hills!

Let down a little bit by the bit in the middle. Is the challenge part really that important? Any, self selected, route offers the challenge of completing it. Ones like the Coast to Coast, West Highland Way etc. just offer better logistics. Though you can find similar services in popular areas like the Lake District & Tossachs....
@@ethelmini Do you mean the Vale of York? That's just one day (and one of the few stretches where there is a pub half way, assuming that is it is still open post-Covid). Boring I know, but knowing it's just that one day makes all the difference.
If and when you did go back to England you might want to try Canal boating. It's another way to see the English countryside and you don't get blisters.
Thank you both for allowing me to travel along with you. I had a great time. I followed the first 3 days with Mark from the United States reacting to your journey but there was a pause and Mark encouraged everyone to go to go support the original content. I did but I'll be travelling the rest of the journey again with Mark. I hope your pain will be less second time around Rach! Look forward to your next adventure.
A great series, loved every one. Rachel's suffering made them more human, as hikers we shared your pain. Do all you can while you are young. I did, but now I'm 78 and infirm so I was able to enjoy the Cotswolds through you. Thank you!
Suggestion: If you return to England, a possible challenge would be to hire a narrow boat for a week or so. There are companies that will help you with boat hire, training and itinerary just like for the walk you did. You will learn to handle the boat and navigate the waterway systems and locks. You don't need hotels or B&Bs as the boat is your travelling home. The camaraderie of boat people is great and you can moor in many places to see the villages and towns as well as inns and pubs along the way. The scenery is, once again, beautiful but different in character. You will always get help with operating the locks and tips for the boating lifestyle from the people you encounter. You can plan routes to take in places of historical interest and/or natural beauty. To get a flavour of the challenge you can easily find RUclips videos of people trying it and/or living on narrow boats full time. This would not be as painful as the walk but another very different kind of challenge and you would get to see an alternative aspect of the UK countryside. As previously said, several companies offer narrowboat hire, training and itinerary planning and a huge choice of routes throughout the UK. Thanks for the very enjoyable series of videos and good luck with future adventures, wherever you may wander.
You guys should move here to the UK, you'll get a MINIMUM of 5 weeks annual leave, including Bank holidays, then you can use the UK as a base to explore more of the UK and Europe....makes sense to me!!
Yup. Five and a half weeks minimum plus a lot of employers - e.g. government, local authorities, tesco - add the eight 'bank holiday' dayson top, so you're then looking at a minimum of seven weeks paid leave per year.
I think it's fair to say - everyone who watched your videos enjoyed them immensely .You made your trip so enjoyable for the people watching with your charming nature..England will welcome you back with open arms if you decide to return someday - Good luck and the Best Wishes for your future and whatever adventures still await you .
You are a lovely couple, I could watch you all day. I really hope you find your way back to the UK some day, there is a worlds worth of adventure to be had here, and I hope one day you return to experience it. In the meantime, I wish you the best of best wishes for whatever your future brings.
You might look at Hadrian’s Way from Tynemouth on the North Sea to Wallsend on the Irish Sea along Hadrian’s Wall. Also consider the South Downs Way from Winchester to Eastbourne. Both are a similar distance - 100 miles.
I’m not sure what I was watching that diverted me to your channel, but I’ve just binge-watched your whole journey through the Cotswolds and it was epic. I’m old and can’t walk myself (childhood polio), but I honestly felt like I was tagging along, bringing up the rear, sharing the sunshine, smelling the breeze, marvelling at the glorious views, gobsmacked by the outstanding weather, picking blackberries, collapsing into pretty pubs that were happy to see you in all your glowing sweatiness, bonding with complete strangers and enjoying the ‘dreadful’ English food that we’re renowned for. I may not have blisters on my feet, but I seem to have developed corns on my sofa-bound butt instead to mark the experience! Incidentally, I do hope you realise you crossed a line, Ben. Without any hesitation whatsoever you actually said Sorry to those sheep for disturbing them!!! 😮😂 That one word fully justifies your new status as an honorary Englishman. Welcome to the club.🇬🇧👍 Once you’ve taken care of your home-grown adventure, whatever it may be, come again, maybe do the trail backwards starting at Bath and add a few extra days for socialising with the friends you made along the way first time round. Just drop in and make yourselves at home. We’ll be glad to see you both. ❤❤
Oh my goodness! We're SO SO SO glad you enjoyed them! And so happy you came along with us! Ben is honored to be a part of the club! 🥰 We've been talking about doing it again. We have to wait until we save up more vacation time - ha!
What makes these videos real, and i have watched them 3 times, your real people, doing something real, but also shown anyone can do it, with the right planning, do it within your limits, the part i keep watching, is after lunch in the pub, and i could see you both tearing up, 1pm on a thursday and we had the greatsest time, great job to you both
Loved what you did in the Cotswolds. Such a beautiful part of England. Would love to see you walk the entirety of the Thames River if you come back this way.
So glad you both did this video. Again thank you for sharing your experience with us all and pleased you have wonderful memories of your journey and be proud of yourselves for such an accomplishment. Love from the UK, and thanks for showing us in such a good light ❤
Just wanted to thank you for this ‘wrap up’ video. Watching your hike through the Cotswolds was a joy & you are a fantastic couple who presented your trip perfectly. There was no need in my opinion to talk history as your general conversations & observations were on point. A think a bike ride in America is the next step although being an Englishman, I wouldn’t know where to suggest. I will be keeping an eye on your channel & in the meantime, my very best wishes to you both.
Found these videos of the Cotswold Way by chance and we have enjoyed watching all of them. Walking in the English countryside on a warm sunny day and stopping for a pint in some random pub is undoubtedly one of life's pleasures. Thanks for posting these and I hope you have as good a time on your next adventure.
I think that, if you can come to the UK again, you're ready for a week or so on a canal barge chugging gently along the waterways of the canal network, between pubs :)
Hi guys I'm from the UK I loved watching your adventure along the Cotswold Way, you passed through Wotton under edge were I grew up❤. So my suggestion for your next hiking trip in the UK is the Coast to Coast walk which is from St bees which is on the west coast to Robin hoods Bay which is on the east coast its 182 miles. Next year me and Jo are walking the oldest walk way in the UK it's called the Ridgeway walk. Anyway have fun on your next big adventure. Mike Harvey
So glad you both enjoyed your hike on the Cotswold way, it was a quite an achievement. The bike ride in Iowa sounds great, I have visited there many years ago, I could not believe how flat it is. One trip to consider in the UK would be the sea to sea (C to C) hike in the North of England, where you cross the country from the Atlantic to the North Sea, the Lake district has some great hikes too.
We have many canals in the uk i watched an American couple travel on a barge just the two of them they had a great time maybe have a go at that one day
I found you guys through Mark and I just wanted to say thank you for filming your journey and sharing. I live not too far away from some of your journey and yet I find myself travelling to other parts of the UK a lot for the sights and forget that there are beautiful places right on my doorstep but it sometimes takes someone elses eyes to see what is right in front of you so I will definitely do more exploring closer to home. For me the greatest thing was how real it was and I think it was special to see that it wasn't easy and that despite the struggle you kept pushing and more importantly you didn't let it ruin your journey.
Wow!! Thank you for coming here and watching!! Glad you liked the videos! You live in a beautiful area, I’m sure everyone feels the same about their town at some point! Definitely a challenge but the COOLEST thing we’ve ever done! ♥️
I picked up on your hike on a reaction channel I follow. The following on that channel was amongst the thousands. (Not Mark From the States) You both did so well, you should be really chuffed with yourselves.
@@Off.Day.Adventures Hi, his channel is called "Not An Industry Artist" (@NAIATHEDRAGON) He fell in love with you two and your hike across the Cotswolds. I subscribed to your channel but enjoyed his reaction to what you were doing. Looking forward yo watching more of your adventures. Be Safe 👍
Thanks guys. Loved the whole series. The pain is important to show. Walking 10 miles is one thing. Walking 10 miles 3 days in a row is something else. Lovely to see you enjoying my home town, Bath. It’s a special place. Also nice to see the “ it always rains in England” trope, not used, because it clearly doesn’t.
I am from the south east of England but I am not going to suggest a trip in England. We used to have a two week cycling holiday each year when we lived in Switzerland for 10 years. Our best ride was from Passat to Vienna along the Danube. There is a cycle tour company at Scharding at the start. Fly into Vienna, rail to Scharding, pick up the bikes, do the ride, make sure one of your stops is at Durnstein, spend at least two days in Vienna, drop off the bikes, fly out of Vienna. Second best ride was from Bolzano in northern Italy to Venice. Happy journeys.
If you are doing a walk in the English countryside, then a couple of pints in a pub at lunchtime is simply all part of the pleasure and the experience. I used to do a lot of long one day hikes in the UK, and we would always plan it around a pub at lunch. It can only have been some Americans who think it's some sort of sin. Is this a hangover from prohibition or something? I should add, that for balance, there are long distance walks in the UK where it's not even an option in many cases. Do the coast-to-coast (highly recommended) or the Highland Way, and for most of the walk there simply isn't a convenient lunchtime stop of any sort. However, the Cotswold way isn't that sort of walk; it's more like a number of day walks between villages and small towns, not a step into the wilderness. Incidentally, those classic full English breakfasts can power you for 20 mile sections over the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales with just the odd snack bar on the types of walks where there is not a convenient lunchtime stop. I would also add, that you were blessed with super weather. Whilst it's not as rare as some suppose, it's also completely unpredictable. A soaking wet, long walk is a very different thing to those days with sunshine. Be prepared, and on some routes, like the Coast-to-coast some very wet days are virtually guaranteed. I would also say, never, attempt a long, multi-day walk without some preparation. You don't need to be super-fit, but you do need stamina, and something to harden up the feet. If you don't, then I can almost guarantee about 2 days in, you will feel awful if you are doing 10+ miles in a day. Your legs will ache, your feet will be a mess and it can turn what is meant to be enjoyable into a painful ordeal. You will get fitter on the trip, but you don't want to wait until day 6 before you feel really good again. Also, the best form of that getting into shape is to do some walking, preferably of the same sort of distance and type of ground that you are planning for. It's not necessary to do day after day, but you want to get into the shape where you would not feel awful after a full day walking. Of course, it's easy for somebody like me in that I can walk out my door into the Cotswolds, albeit in Oxfordshire, and there are dozens of footpaths over the hills, not something available in somewhere like Florida, but don't go into it without some preparation.
Just found your channel today and watched the whole Cotswold Way series in one go, absolutely fantastic you're both naturals behind the camera and I can see this channel taking off in a big way. Another similar distanced walk in the UK is the coast-to-coast along Hadrains Wall.
What an achievement, i admire you both for doing something different for your holiday. Best wishes to you both, and I am really looking forward to the bike ride videos in the summer.
We are hiking the Cotswold Way in May and I’m really glad we came across these videos. You should consider Iceland for a hiking/driving trip, it’s similar. You rent a car and drive the Ring Road, but you can get the B&B’s set up for you as well as an itinerary for each day. It’s only a 5 hr flight from D.C. Happy travels, and thanks!
If you are looking in the states, I recommend Acacia national park in Maine and Ragbrie is excellent in Iowa. As for another country I would recommend Ireland. We did the first two days of Cotswold and left at Winchcombe. We are going back to do all 102 miles. Thank you for the tour. BEst vacation of mine and wifes lives.
Hiya Ben and Rach, I watched the whole series in one day, yesterday, What a brilliant watch it was, you captured it perfectly and loved your honesty and really glad you enjoyed the trip to the U.K, we do take our beautiful country for granted, and loved your pub stops and in my mind you are almost half British with your love of a pint, enjoy the memory and please come back soon...👍
I very much enjoyed your adventure through my local area! The important thing to decide is what you want to drink! If you fancy Guinness, next time walk, bike or canal boat in Ireland! If you fancy cider and galettes, there are footpaths right around Brittany with spectacular coastal views, and luggage tranfer services, or if you like it flat, and fancy wine, you can now start in the Gare de Nord in Paris, and walk along the Seine to the coast. PS I loathe Mont St Michelle, so I personally would avoid that.
Thanks for the great videos, you might think about hiring a narrowboat and traveling around the 4,700 miles of canals that crisscross the English countryside, you can tie the boat up anywhere for free each night ( best to be near a pub, there are many on the canals) you can decide where to go, and stop when you like and go exploring. You sleep on the boat which is equipped with a cooker, shower, fridge, etc. There are several companies online that will arrange the hire for you. There are also a number of vlogs on Utube to give you an idea of what it's like.
i watched you on marks channel ,i think you did great keept going on and finished it,hope you come back to the uk and do the three peaks in Yorkshire ,i really enjoyed watching hope you do more
Just watched all your Cotswold Way vids that you tube suggested I watch. Loved them all. We live not far from there & our son is at Uni in Bath so we know lots of the places. Nice to see dear old Blighty thru the eyes of a lovely American couple. Thanks for sharing your travels with us.
Great videos, binge-watched all of them. Thank you, you have restored my faith in relationships! I live near Chipping Campden and will think of you every time I pass the 'start' marker. I think you would love a trip on the canals of England, which would give you a beginning and end point - there are several companies in the UK who will organise the hire of the boat and your itinerary. Happy trails.
Hi from England, have subscribed and watched your Cotswold hike videos and enjoyed them all. You're a lovely couple, many thanks. Ideas for what next? In England I'd say The Lake District. In the USA, how about parts of the most interesting/scenic sections of The Appalachian Trail? Or maybe a kayak trip down part of The Mississippi? Whatever you eventually choose, I'd like it to show some of the history and culture unique to the USA. Best wishes, James.
Thank you so much for watching!!! And thank you for sharing your country with us. We've heard a lot about the Lake District - looks BEAUTIFUL! We love the AT! That's a long one. We've had some friends do it in 1 go - takes about 6 months!
Pint of cider at lunch is key to long distance walks! Powers you through the afternoon and so refreshing!! I’m walking the south west coastal path (you’d love it) and pubs are part of the fun!
A wonderful series to watch , 102 miles of aches and pains , that disappear with every pub visit =-). We also have much longer walks , like the Coast to Coast , which is 200 miles. Anyway , you enjoy your memories , and occasionally think back when you have the time ,and give a little grin =-)
It was a treat to watch your walk and the views from a hiking perspective, you were definitely lucky with the weather, how much different the hike would have been a couple of weeks later in the rain and wind.
You should put a link for the company you used over here, glad you enjoyed a small part of the UK, if you did this walk again I'd suggest longer as you were going through some very historical places, and very near King Charles private home, where the gardens are open to the public near the village of Tetbury and his sister Princess Anne not very far away, along with Broadway and many other small towns and villages, also glad you enjoyed Mark From The States reaction to your trip
Last couple of suggestions! I am getting excited thinking about all the great things you guys can do, with your great attitude! But here are a couple: Boating in the Norfolk Broads. Only a few hundred pounds to hire a boat, no experience necessary, so accomodation is there, for you and another couple if you want, not in the summer school holidays is the best time as it is less crowded. Seriously beautiful, and you can moor up at many of the pubs for your lunchtime/evening pint and food! Around two and a half hours from Heathrow if you hire a car, around 5 hours by public transport. Boating in the Netherlands, again no experience needed, and easier than canals in the UK as there are lockeepers. Try to go in the spring. For boating, there will of course be loads of stuff in the US, so you could try it for a weekend, which would be better timewise. Hope you guys have such a great time doing whatever!
@@Off.Day.Adventures Thanks for the vicarious fun watching you two on the Cotswolds. I walked the South Downs way, and part of the Pembrokeshire coastal path many years ago, but now I just have to hitch a lift from you two! The broads boats ain't narrow, they don't need to be, they are low for the bridges. It is way easier than the locks on a canal, but in your circumstances I would try fooling around on a boat somewhere accessible to you for a weekend first - you might catch the bug, and you don't get blisters on the feet, just the occasional rope burn! ;-) But google boat hire, Norfolk Broads, with Wroxham being the epicenter
You should try the Hadrians wall path 84 miles long across the top of Northern England built by the Romans to keep the northern tribes out. Starts on the west coast and ends in Newcastle. Lot's of nature and history plenty of pubs and the friendliest people in the Uk 🇬🇧
Hi to you both, have to say I’ve really enjoyed watching your vlogs of this trip. So glad you had an Amazing time and enjoyed our beautiful little country. Hope the next adventure is as incredible, wherever in the World it is 👍👍😎😎😎😉

Ted Weaver Just to let you know how much I've enjoyed watching your Cotswolds Way hike.I'm yet another British convert to your channel from Mark Masterson. I think you will find a lot of Brits keenly awaiting your next adventure, wherever it is!
I always love the tomato but what I do not like are the baked beans. I am a pensioner now but when I was growing up nobody put baked beans with English breakfast. It is not traditional and I do not like it.
@@valeriedavidson2785 Yeah. Baked Beans on a breakfast can be a divisive. I’ll take extra beans personally. But definitely think the most likely thing to be left on the plate is the grilled tomato. 🍅
Marvellous mini series. I felt for you with your blisters. What helped me on hikes were a pair of hiking poles. Takes the stress off your hips.and knees.
I am really sad that your journey came to an end. I really enjoyed your videos. Hopefully you will come back one day and do another hike. Thank you for sharing your trip.😊
Sorry Rach - you would ace pubs too - in fact maybe more than your husband! In Britain we drink cider in the park before we are allowed in pubs - you’d ace that too! No seriously - it’s been a real pleasure to watch you both - I’m thinking about taking my dog and doing the walk - but when it’s warmer! Much love and respect guys
Trans Pennine Trail is a trek from the North Sea to The Irish Sea from Eat to West coast of England stretching over 200 miles through mainly the counties of Yorkshire and Lancashire where you’ll find things a lot cheaper than The Cotswolds.
Hi you two lovely peeps! I have a suggestion for your next adventure! How does a canal trip on the many canl systems in the uk? Thia time yoy can save your legs!! Yoy can live on board and travel the canals stoppi g at many watering holes on the way. Operate the lock systems and check out the scenic sites on your way. Just a thought but it might be right up your street. The cotswold way adventure was so good. Well done, and I lookk forward to whatwvwr you decide to do next. Love you guys! Xx
My wife and I did exactly as you did for the Hadrians Wall Path as our first hike.....baggage transfer, b&b pre-booked. It works. I really happy you enjoyed the Cotswold Way. It's my favourite 'short' thru hike. I know I wild camped it in four days, but we all walk the same steps !. As to another hike, it all depends on how much time you have. Given US holiday entitlements, I'm imagining you are looking for something around 70-100 miles. I'd do St Cuthberts Way exactly the same (baggage transfer, b&b pre-booked). You get to walk through the incredible Northumberland countryside and finish with a walk at low tide across sand to Holy Island (or Lindisfarne) where you can stay overnight, before the tide rises and the island is cut off. You watch the seals swim back in as the tide comes in. Holy Island is where the Vikings first attacked England in 789.............or Hadrians Wall Path 80 odd miles. a 2000yr old Roman wall going up, over and along. Loads of history. It's the inspiration for "the Wall" in Game of Thrones. Crosses northern England. Vindolanda camp (a museum and archeological dig) is a must
We'd love to do the hike again, but camp! Did you film any of your journey? Haven't heard of the St Cuthberts Way - will check it out! Sounds fun (and hard, ha!) Heard a lot about Hadrians Wall as well, I think that would kick my butt HAHA

Would be great to see you back in England, maybe a hike in a differant part of the country, but i understand where you are coming from what with work commitments etc, we are very lucky hear we are paid all bank holidays plus 4 weeks a year, in some cases 5 or more. whatever you decide it will be great watching both of you do it. look forward to it. I loved watching the videos. Your complaing that is so hard is so real. I walked the way in June 24 and had the same weather. Only one half a day with rain. On every single climb, I ask myself why I was doing this. Every single time I reached the top, I was blown away. I booked the trip by myself and carried my things in a backpack. A tip, if you don't go hiking realy up in the mountains, try trailrunner. At least have size bigger. Look for a wide toe box to prevent blisters. They are light but have good grip. Thanks for the beautiful memories!
I discovered your videos by chance and I have loved following your journey!!! Don't mind that you complained about your hips and blisters!!! That's the reality of hiking like that!! The scenery was stunning and I loved your encounters with the locals! I can't wait to see what you do next.
@Off.Day.Adventures I mean Look Back in American History. Prohibition allowed the Growth of the Modern day Mafia . What we call organinised Crime in Britain. I'm sure there was a Reason for the birth of Prohibition. But it was handled wrong.
I can’t imagine how awful it would’ve been if you’d had nine days of rain and cloud and no views. 😢😢. So happy for you that you got the views and everything was so green because of all the rain.1

Thank you!
Awwww thank you so much for watching!
Suggestion:
If you return to England, a possible challenge would be to hire a narrow boat for a week or so.
We've been thinking about doing a narrow boat! Thank you for the suggestions!
Oh man, I reckon you’ll have an absolute blast doing that!!! Even if it leathers down with rain it’ll be brilliant…
Camino de Santiago Pilgrimage (Spain/Portugal) is pretty epic too.
A lovely couple making lovely videos of a lovely part of the world. So glad you enjoyed the REAL Engalnd. Proper job 🙂
Mainland Europe. We are in Europe. We are European ms 🙄
I think it's fair to say - everyone who watched your videos enjoyed them immensely .You made your trip so enjoyable for the people watching with your charming nature..England will welcome you back with open arms if you decide to return someday - Good luck and the Best Wishes for your future and whatever adventures still await you .
Check out wainwright's walk from St bees on the west coast to Robin Hoods Bay on the east coast a ramblers dream
Yes, Mark is super nice and he's how I came to your trip in Blighty.
A Brit here; many years ago I did a hike through Yosemite (best in June/July). Stunning scenery and a trip I will never forget (not many pubs though).
Ohhh I bet that was wonderful! Agreed, not near enough pubs ;)
Welcome to the club.🇬🇧👍
Once you’ve taken care of your home-grown adventure, whatever it may be, come again, maybe do the trail backwards starting at Bath and add a few extra days for socialising with the friends you made along the way first time round. Just drop in and make yourselves at home. We’ll be glad to see you both. ❤❤
Oh my goodness! We're SO SO SO glad you enjoyed them! And so happy you came along with us!
Ben is honored to be a part of the club! 🥰
We've been talking about doing it again. We have to wait until we save up more vacation time - ha!
What an excellent comment
What makes these videos real, and i have watched them 3 times, your real people, doing something real, but also shown anyone can do it, with the right planning, do it within your limits, the part i keep watching, is after lunch in the pub, and i could see you both tearing up, 1pm on a thursday and we had the greatsest time, great job to you both
I'm so Proud and Happy you had a good Time in my Country. Lovely couple.
Loved what you did in the Cotswolds. Such a beautiful part of England. Would love to see you walk the entirety of the Thames River if you come back this way.
It was so much fun. Ahhh the Thames would be a lot of fun! How long is that walk?
So glad you both did this video. Again thank you for sharing your experience with us all and pleased you have wonderful memories of your journey and be proud of yourselves for such an accomplishment. Love from the UK, and thanks for showing us in such a good light ❤
A pint at lunch is the joy of life!
Absolutely!
Thank you so much for watching!!!!
I think that, if you can come to the UK again, you're ready for a week or so on a canal barge chugging gently along the waterways of the canal network, between pubs :)
We've been talking about that! May need to try :)
We have many canals in the uk i watched an American couple travel on a barge just the two of them they had a great time maybe have a go at that one day
Great idea!
narrowboat on the canals of Britain!
Brilliant! Challenging in a different way but probably no blisters.
Really enjoyed your videos. I'm looking to tackle the walk in the summer so many thanks for puttinbg this all together
Two charming people who made a video of a long walk a must watch! I hope it’s given you a taste that you’ll repeat, and come to see more of the UK.
You were so lucky with the weather.
Another misguided person! The Cotswolds are very often like that in Summer! We had the worst July in years, but that is a rarity.
I picked up on your hike on a reaction channel I follow. The following on that channel was amongst the thousands. (Not Mark From the States) You both did so well, you should be really chuffed with yourselves.
OH MY!!! What’s the channel? We didn’t know there was another, ha!!! Awww thanks for watching! We are definitely proud 😊
Be Safe 👍
@@QuakerJones268 thanks for sharing! And welcome!!!!
I just binged this series - loved it!
"I would stop at more pubs,
I would sit on more hills..."
Don't forget to kiss at more gates.
AHHHH THANK YOU!!!!
you guys should come back and to the coast to coast wainwritght walk. its from the sea at lancashire to the sea in yorkashire
That sounds AMAZING and a new suggestion! Thank you!
Try the coast to coast
To avoid blisters: don't start a holiday in new boots: wear a thin pair of cotton socks next the skin, then pair of woollen socks. Wash frequently!.
That is good advice! Thank you!
Just found your channel today and watched the whole Cotswold Way series in one go, absolutely fantastic you're both naturals behind the camera and I can see this channel taking off in a big way. Another similar distanced walk in the UK is the coast-to-coast along Hadrains Wall.
So glad you enjoyed the series! We've been reading up on Hadrians Wall - will need to save up some vacation days!
Ahhhhh you're going to have the best time! How many days are you doing it in? Ooooo Iceland is a GREAT idea!
Ireland is on our bucket list FOR SURE! Good luck on the rest of your walk!
Ahhh thank you so much for watching! We loved it so much, I'm glad that came across! Missing the pints already!
Thanks for the ideas! OMG we would love to visit Ireland...never been!
We've been thinking about a narrowboat for our next adventure! Would be a challenge indeed, ha!
Loved watching you walk through the Cotswold way, next time try walking Pembrokeshire Coast Path National Trail its absolutely breath taking
i watched you on marks channel ,i think you did great keept going on and finished it,hope you come back to the uk and do the three peaks in Yorkshire ,i really enjoyed watching hope you do more
Now you're home again. Howz about a vid on your locale?
Just watched all your Cotswold Way vids that you tube suggested I watch. Loved them all. We live not far from there & our son is at Uni in Bath so we know lots of the places.
Nice to see dear old Blighty thru the eyes of a lovely American couple.
Thanks for sharing your travels with us.
Awwww wow thank you so much for watching!
It was a treat to watch your walk and the views from a hiking perspective, you were definitely lucky with the weather, how much different the hike
would have been a couple of weeks later in the rain and wind.
Thank you for watching! I don't know how we got so lucky...it was PERFECT!
Thank you SO MUCH for the ideas!!! We've been talking about narrow boating later this year - might be the plan :)
It is way easier than the locks on a canal, but in your circumstances I would try fooling around on a boat somewhere accessible to you for a weekend first - you might catch the bug, and you don't get blisters on the feet, just the occasional rope burn! ;-)
But google boat hire, Norfolk Broads, with Wroxham being the epicenter
You should try the Hadrians wall path 84 miles long across the top of Northern England built by the Romans to keep the northern tribes out. Starts on the west coast and ends in Newcastle. Lot's of nature and history plenty of pubs and the friendliest people in the Uk 🇬🇧
Sounds fun (and hard, ha!) Thanks for the suggestion!
Hi to you both, have to say I’ve really enjoyed watching your vlogs of this trip. So glad you had an Amazing time and enjoyed our beautiful little country. Hope the next adventure is as incredible, wherever in the World it is 👍👍😎😎😎😉
you need to do the coast to coast in the uk its only 190 miles
Thought your video of The Cotswold Way hike was brilliant and so watchable. Get back to the UK again and do some more walks !
Enjoyed reliving your hike! Love from 🇬🇧❤️
From the team that manage the National Trails, well done guys! ...there's plenty of other National Trails to choose next 😉
Our favorite comment ever :)
Walk the “Pilgrims Way” here in the UK.
Just stumbled across your Channel and remember seeing you in the royal George last year. So cool watching your vids and watching you walk the routes around this area. 👍🏻
Oh my gosh NO WAY!!! That was the most painful day, did I look miserable? 😂😂😂 Were you in the beer garden?
Thank you again for sharing your Fabulous Adventure, next time if you have more time the Alfred Wainwright Coast to Coast or The Hadrian's Roman Wall Path.
Very good series. Great to see such a good outcome to a vacation. You settled in like locals.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for watching!!

Just to let you know how much I've enjoyed watching your Cotswolds Way hike.I'm yet another British convert to your channel from Mark Masterson.
I think you will find a lot of Brits keenly awaiting your next adventure, wherever it is!
Ahhh thank you for watching here as well!! We can’t wait to come back for more walks!
Haha. Most of us don’t eat the tomatoes either 😂😂.
And drinking at lunch is advisable in the uk.
👍🏽Thatchers👍🏽
I always love the tomato but what I do not like are the baked beans. I am a pensioner now but when I was growing up nobody put baked beans with English breakfast. It is not traditional and I do not like it.
@@valeriedavidson2785 Yeah. Baked Beans on a breakfast can be a divisive. I’ll take extra beans personally. But definitely think the most likely thing to be left on the plate is the grilled tomato. 🍅
Try the dalesway next time great walk we will support you on the way
Marvellous mini series. I felt for you with your blisters. What helped me on hikes were a pair of hiking poles. Takes the stress off your hips.and knees.
Wild camp the west highland way in Scotland, would be my suggestion
We loved every one of your videos; such a great chance to relive our own walk. Lake District or a canal barge are def next for you guys.
I am really sad that your journey came to an end. I really enjoyed your videos. Hopefully you will come back one day and do another hike. Thank you for sharing your trip.😊
Came here via Mark from the States....loved your videos...Best wishes from Scotland
BTW Ben - I am so proud of the way you took to the whole pub concept - if the USA falls you will do fine here my man
HAHAHA!!! He says THANK YOU 😂😂😂
Sorry Rach - you would ace pubs too - in fact maybe more than your husband!
You got the only good week of weather we had last year ❤ I loved watching this and made me appreciate my county way more
I'm so glad! 🙂

Hey guys I absolutely loved watching your walk and it was me that emailed Mark to react to it as I thought he would really enjoy watching you it's been great to watch again with him. I think you are both amazing people and I love your attitude to things and humour. Hope you come back here soon ! Debbie,Manchester Uk
Lovely so nice to see you hiking my back yard. The Carpenters is one of my locals. Have walked most of the cotswold way at one time or another, just not from begining to end.😂
P.S. you missed out way too many good pubs, and there is never a last hill in the cotswolds😅
You may not be super in shape people but you are certainly super people.
Jim X😘
Yes! I was always so exhausted but SO HAPPY once I reached the top of a hill. Especially at the end of a long day.... SO worth it :)
I discovered your videos by chance and I have loved following your journey!!! Don't mind that you complained about your hips and blisters!!! That's the reality of hiking like that!!
The scenery was stunning and I loved your encounters with the locals!
I can't wait to see what you do next.

I can’t imagine how awful it would’ve been if you’d had nine days of rain and cloud and no views. 😢😢. So happy for you that you got the views and everything was so green because of all the rain.1
